It was an awesome dinner. Great service and food. Highly recommended
Not a place for a "quick bite", but it is worth the time it takes. And: you can see it being done right in front of you -- no microwave! I was with a couple of real 'foodies' and I think Tap was an excellent choice for these demanding palates.
I had the risotto with morels and it was delicious.
Everyone was delighted with everything.
Outstanding food you cannot be in a hurry as food is cooked to order
My guest commented it's the first restaurant that we had been to that everything was perfect for me I must me fussy
Coming back. For business lunch next week and following week for dinner with my husband and another couple
Service was attentive, food was very good, the restaurant was quiet but if the waitress asked one more time if our food was 'delicious' I was would have lost it. I understand the human nature slant to the question aimed at ascertaining how the guests are finding their food and that asking with a positive slant generally garners a positive response, but it is very presumptuous to use the word 'delicious '. The food was in fact was quite good, but I found the use of the word condescending. You have to earn your Michelin stars after all. It would have be better to just ask, 'how are your meals?'
The rillette was wonderful, as was the duck leg. Great wine selection, if on the pricey side. Wish they had half-litre carafes.
I find Tap Restaurant to have good food, pleasing atmosphere good and knowledgeable service.
Lunch menu - 3 out of 4 of our group had the halibut & risotto dish. We all raved about it. The halibut was cooked to perfection, the risotto was amazing too. Would highly recommend this intimate restaurant. Will be back.
Tap never disappoints.
Food and service both consistently great!
Excellent food as always, great restaurant. We forgot there was live music on wednesdays and it was a little loud for us, although nice music. Thanks for a nice evening.
Another amazing night at Tap. Alistair and his staff are top notch. Great food and fantastic service, as always. Downtown quality without the commute!
Appies, mains, drinks and dessert were all delicious for both of us. Will return on that basis alone. Ambiance was marginal, not a lot of character but was clean. Nothing wrong with the servers themselves but need more of them-had a Saturday 6pm-8pm meal and waited for everything. Need more staff at prime time!
such a welcoming atmosphere , very professional service , charming& attentive, food is delicious and well plated.Great cocktails and wine selection.
The food is consistently very good. The wine list is great and Alisatir Veen (proprietor) is an excellent sommelier. This is a favourite go-to spot.
Alister and his team are the best in South Surrey/ White Rock. A real downtown high end dining experience right in our backyard. So special!
I know I can count on the dinner being creative and delicious and definitely not something I'd be making at home. Just what you want in a good restaurant.
Lobster bisque was delicious and so was the charcuterie board! Our server John was attentive and very friendly!
Our annual tradition continues @ Tap. From our first date to our anniversary dinner we always count on Tap to blow us away with fresh, local ingredients and a wine list that’s second to none. This hidden gem is the best of the best in the South Surrey area.
Great atmosphere, romantic setting, excellent service and food
well done to the optimum for a great experience of local sourced food and a moderate priced yet impressive date night.
My wife and I went on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was almost full. The service was both helpful and knowledgeable. The Alsatian tart was excellent. She had duck and I had the lamb. Both were delicious We will certainly return and would recommend Tap to anyone
Used to be our absolute favourite restaurant in the Valley. Went there back to back recently with a foodie couple, and then on next night with immed family of 6 for 28th wedding anniv. Has it's glowing points still, with some creative and tasty food dishes, some fabulous waiters and waitresses, plus Alister's super impressive wine knowledge....but last 2 visits didn't match our memories of it. Historically we found prices were up there, but quality was always superb and service exemplary. However these last 2 occasions it was more m'eh which was disappointing. Actually on the second occasion the service was sub-par (didn't get Melissa :-( ) , had a table for 6 under a/c unit so was super cold but nowhere to move, and was located out by the front door. When they knew it was a special occasion it would have been nice to not be placed in this less than ideal spot. Especially after having been there the night before. Wine list still real real good, and Alister knows his stuff, very impressive and super nice guy. And fab to be able to eat so much local organically. But a couple of meals on both occasions were luke warm, meat portions seemed to be smaller (?), service on Sat night was agonizingly slow...yet prices still reflected a 6 star experience. Disappointing cause we used to love it and recommended it to many. So now it's a 'possible' venue for us versus a must-do. They have structure to provide fantastic moments, but 2 recent experiences for us were not the same. So it's good versus outstanding, with a hope they rebound and this was just a tougher weekend.
Excellent food and service on the beautiful patio. John is the best waiter around.
Always fantastic. Favorite restaurant. 30% off of our favorite wine on Wednesday’s and live music on the patio. Doesn’t get much better!
Been to Tap many times now. Have never left disappointed.
Tap is a neighbourhood gem. The food is gourmet with a flair for variety from the usual. The wine list is exceptional.
We love this restaurant! Staff are friendly and the food is delicious. I have never had a bad meal there!
Great ambiance in a quiet, casual yet elegant setting. Food is very good, selection to meet all tastes, good sized portions, well presented, served hot. Locally sourced food is featured. Great desserts. Staff friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive, efficient without rushing. Friendly, welcoming owner who’s also a chef and award winning sommelier.
Our first (but not our last) visit to Tap! We were greeted warmly, our server Anna was simply amazing and the food sensational! A great experience and one that we will do again and again!
Service is super slow. Food doesn’t taste the same as before. Prawn was served raw. Kitchen took it back regrilled it without even apologize. This place had been consistently good for many years but this time it was a huge disappointment. It’s as if the chef is different. Everything lacks flavour. Halibut came with barely any flavour. Will not go back again.
Our server was delightful and the food was exceptional. I had a chicken dish which was very moist and flavourful and came with a very tasty rice. My friend had the chicken and rib special which she said was excellent. The environment is so cozy and welcoming. A real gem in a S Surrey neighbourhood. Love coming here for either lunch or dinner.
Alister is the best in the biz. You will not be disappointed.
We had good service and love the patio seating our food was good but my Halibut meal's portion was small for the price and alittle cold.
We love Tap. We dine there at least monthly. It’s the best “unpretentious upscale” restaurant in South Surrey/White Rock. Try the Tuesday Night Farm to Table 3 Courses for $30. Great value for fresh creative food. Last Tuesday even included a lobster tail! Fabulous. Allister’s knowledge of food and wine is impressive. The staff are great! The patio is beautifully shaded and intimate. Love it!
We received a TAPS gift card and decided to use it on our 28th Anniversary. Even though I thought the online menu seemed expensive, the food, the service, the attention to detail, the ambience and, of course, the gift card (LOL!) made it worthwhile.
I would highly recommend the Ceasar Salad and the Lobster Bisque as appetizers! My wife had one of the specials for the evening, lobster tail, and loved it! She raved how everything had flavour and tasted so fresh. I had the full rack of lamb and thought it was very good as well.
Our waitress, Melissa ,was both professional and friendly. The owner Adrian was pleasant and hard working as he assisted in attending guests needs at the perfect service level.
The restaurant is located in a residential subdivision. This made it quite enjoyable as we did not have to contend with noisy traffic or unsightly prking lots from our outdoor patio table.
We would highly recommend TAPS to anyone celebrating a special occasion!
We always enjoy the attentive staff and exceptional meals at Tap. The Caesar salad is hard to resist! I particularly like the acoustics; it’s easy to have quiet conversation. One would not expect such a great restaurant where it is located.
Always great menu that changes to give more choices and new experiences for the taste buds every visit
Service only comparable to the RVYC Jericho, Vancouver Club or Granite club in TO
Number one in my book
Lucky I live just around the corner
Staff is incredible
Get a reservation the place is a hidden gem
Expensive but excellent. The live music was great.
Our go to restaurant. A little neighborhood gem. Always excellent.
A nice shaded patio and good service - topped off with great food and wine.
