That’s when Walt Disney and his animators, set designers and crews would trek out between takes for a bite and a refreshment. So often in fact, the Tam was once dubbed “the studio commissary.” Join us and see why the Tam is said to have been Walt’s favorite restaurant.

Tam O'Shanter Cut
our traditional and most popular cut
In December there are carolers. They were wonderful and added to the overall holiday experience.
We always have a very nice special occasion dinner at The Tam... my girlfriend's birthday dinner was made even more special by the customer service of Tristene. She was great to talk to and was so helpful to us... We got our usual prime rib dinners. I got the Tam O'Shanter cut, the lady got the California cut... we shared a lobster tail and sauteed mushrooms. We had a couple of beverages... It was a delicious meal. We were too full for dessert but Tristene brought the birthday girl a strawberry trifle with a candle on it. It was such a nice touch and was totally unexpected... I recently joined the Lawry's VIP Club so we will be dining here at The Tam & other locations more often... Thanks Tristene!
We are long-time customers and love the Tam, especially during the holidays!
Lovely evening, a great way to start the holidays with the Carol singers!
The Tam O'Shanter is lovely. They have made every effort to train their staff to give exemplary service. I've been there twice in the last month. This time I had an issue. When my rare prime rib was brought with the rib on, I asked for it to be taken to kitchen to have the rib cut off. So much better than trying to deal with it at the table, I thought. The server concluded that this meant I did not want it so they threw it away. I was distressed and told him so. Nothing they could do, he said. So sorry. About 10 minutes later he appeared with a rib from a subsequent order, charred beyond recognition. This was the substitute for the rare one they had throw out. Not really. Otherwise it's a lovely dining experience, especially at lunch. Excellent food with the hot fudge Sundae beyond wonderful with copious amounts of CC Brown's hot fudge. Just be sure to be extremely explicit in your language if you ask for anything out of the ordinary.
LOVE going to The Tam!! I travel from San Diego every year - I need to come up more often - and bring others, many first timers, to start the holiday season. The staff is outstanding and notable this year were Sarah at the bar who made a great Rob Roy and our server Erin ( gu bràth) who made the occasion even more enjoyable!! Early congratulations on your upcoming 100th Anniversary. Hope to see you during Robby Burns birthday celebration!!
All the best!

Had a great time! Food was good and the Carolers were fantastic! Always nice to have a good hearty dinner in the winter. Wish the fireplace was working in the lobby area.
Our server was terrific. Food was great as we all remembered.
We ate outside and covid in effect. The meat was delicious and the corn was semi cold and way to thick. Otherwise we enjoyed our friends and the rib roast. We did not have dessert.
Another lovely Holiday dinner. The Carolers are always wonderful. The first time, I've ever seen the parking lot full. They do verify COVID vaccination status....which is great. The wait staff was friendly and efficient; the food as always is extraordinary. So very pleased they were able to stay open during the recent closures. Onward to 2022!
Excellent food, as always! Totally love the Chocolate Souffle! Carolers make for an added holiday bonus.
Great food and great service
As always, we had a great time.
Food and drinks were delicious. Great service!
The food and service were fantastic but nothing beats the festive ambiance for the holidays! The singing Christmas carolers are not to be missed! 🌲
Fantastic food, service and an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. Would wholeheartedly recommend!
The restaurant was well decorated for the Christmas season. There was an added bonus of Christmas Caralers throughout the restaurant Caroline and sounded beautiful it was quite enjoyable. The waitress was very friendly and timely at taking our orders and getting our food to the table. She offered historical information about the restaurant which was very interesting and also provided recommendations about items on the menu. The food came in a timely manner It was well prepared.
Delightful evening with attentive service, superb food and a lovely room enhanced by holiday decor. There was an added floor show as the carolers and staff skirted each other. "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, medium rare please".
Convenient free parking. Excellent atmosphere and service. Excellent food. The menu, including dessert choices is expanding.
Exceptional experience. Yo and Armando were fantastic. Yo is so friendly and professional and all around lovely.
The food was amazing. We had prime rib, filet mignon and short ribs. Clearly meat lovers!
The sticky toffee pudding was awesome. Noelle, the manager, came by the table to check in on us and Diane also came by many times to make sure we were having an excellent evening. And the Carolers...outstanding. Great way to kick off the holiday season!
Wonderful place - delicious food!
Always a reliable dining venue!!! Great for any occasion. The outdoor patio is comfortable, pleasant, airy.
My sister and I visited as part of our annual Disneyland trip. We specifically went here since this was Walt Disney’s favorite spot and are glad we did. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is charming and inviting. Our food was perfectly cooked and was tasty. A great experience overall.
This was my first time eating at the Tam since before the pandemic. Though I love the restaurant's rustic and cozy interior, I opted for an outside table in the interest of safety. While lacking the old-fashioned charm of the inside dining rooms, our spot on the patio next to the fireplace was perfectly nice, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that traffic noise from Los Feliz Blvd wasn't an issue. Service was good and the food was decent. Our only complaint was that the kitchen had run out of French onion soup. All in all, a nice meal -- we'll be back again soon.
Great, got a late thanksgiving Turkey dinner on a Sunday night!
Conveniently located. Outdoor patio is lovely especially
during this pandemic. All staff are masked & pandemic protocols are being followed.
Outside brunch is lovely, and drinks at the bar is a classic old school LA experience!
I've wanted to go to this restaurant for a long time, and even having very high expectations, they surpassed them. Excellent food and service. I would not hesitate to return.
sonderfull wvening with my son. melinda our server was fabulous!
Perfect venue for our Thanksgiving Holiday special event. Decorations were beautiful and made for a festive environment. Our waitress, I think her name was Emily, was very friendly and helpful but not over bearing. The food was excellent. My salmon was so tasty.
We will definitely return.
It was a fun bonus to be sitting at Walt Disney’s favorite table.
Great service, good, reasonably priced Thanksgiving dinner — odd vegetable choice of broccoli and cauliflower mix, which appeared to have come from a Bird’s Eye bag. Otherwise fine.
It was our first time going for a holiday dinner and we loved everything about it. Diane our server made sure we were happy all through dinner. It was nice to dine out again! My husband and I were also celebrating our 13th anniversary together.
Visited the Tam O' Shanter for Thanksgiving dinner! The food was tasty and home style, nothing fancy. I requested and was seated at the Walt Disney table, which was an added treat to the visit. Our server gave us the history and was knowledgeable about the table and where Walt and his animators would often have lunch in the early days of the studio.
Make the request when you make your reservation!
Thanksgiving dinner was great. Excellent food but slow service
We reserved this restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner and we were really looking forward to it, we were so utterly disapointed that we had to return our meals, we tried another meal option which was also not up to standard for the price, the portion of mashed potato was so ridiculous (not even a tablespoon), the turkey looked like the scrapings of the end, the vegetable lasagne was so dry and resembled a school dinner, even a microvawe lasagne would have more cheese and sauce, the mac & cheese literally had no cheese and again was dry, we tried a trifle desert and it was basically all cream and no sponge, the waitress was not helpful at all and the manger made us feel very awkward and was not apologetic in the slightest, that being said we were not charged for any food but two out of four of us did not eat anything and we actually had to stop and order fast food on our way home :( we understand that Thanksgiving can be a busy time but that doesn't excuse the service that we encountered.Truly truly disappointed, we are from Scotland and this is most definitely NOT a representation of Scottish food or service, the only positive we have to say is that the decor is very cozy and authentic!
Tam O'Shanter is not the least expensive place in town, but it is excellent and worth every penny. It's nearly 100years old, is very large and has plenty of parking, so it is user friendly. All the various rooms are very cozy and there is a large outdoor area for those who prefer that. The decor, the holiday feel and the staff are all wonderful.
The Thanksgiving dinner we and two friends had was excellent.
Loved it!! Perfect Thanksgiving dinner!! WE LOVED IT!!!
The staff was absolutely incredible and made it an amazing Thanksgiving meal. Old school place that feels like you are eating at a family members house. Can’t recommend this place enough.
I’m afraid the thanksgiving dinner wasn’t that good. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were made from instant and the bread wasn’t that good. Turkey wasn’t bad but had some gristle. Service was excellent, no complaints there. But can’t say I plan to come back.
Yumm very good prime rib. Definitely going to come back to this iconic spot
