The best Philly has to offer, as usual!
From the mulled wine to molten chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream, dinner was fantastic. Victoria was an attentive server and the team at Talula’s Garden, so well-trained, supported each other professionally. Risotto, Garden Salad, a butternut squash soup, branzino, scallops and salmon - all apps and mains exceeded our expectations. We ate outside and were comfortable on a chilly night with a great setup with heaters and circulating air. Well done!!!
Amazing experience!! Best restaurant in philly!!!!
The food was delicious and flavorful, the staff was extremely professional and helpful. We dined outdoors and it is a beautiful but safe setup, and we were warm on a January night outdoors. The cocktails were also excellent. I can’t wait to come back.
Loved it and can’t wait to return. Perfect date night!
Another great outdoor dining experience in cozy private streeterys. Good cocktails. Creative entrees. Always a high quality meal.
Excellent heated cabins were cozy and food was delicious.
Had another wonderful meal here. Love the outdoor dining option. Very covid conscious and safe. They take your temperature and wear masks. Food is delicious, especially loved the fig pizza, cheddar cheese biscuits and mulled wine. Staff was great.
Philadelphia finally opened restaurants to 25% capacity so we made a reservation right away. We requested to sit outside not knowing what to expect because it was a chilly night. It was perfect....we had our own little “pod”. Each enclosure have dazzling lights and forced air heat. You won’t have to worry about being cold. The food was amazing and so was the service. We had the Branzino and Broiled Scallops which were cooked perfectly. We ordered a side of the crispy potatoes which were fabulous. Dessert was an apple cranberry crisp with a latte ice cream and a pecan pie! It is on the expensive side but oh so worth it. I can’t wait to go back.
Great food, ambiance and waiting staff. Butternut squash soup was the best I have had.
Have been several times. Never disappoints. Great service. Wonderful atmosphere. Food is delicious and simple. Fresh. The service is always impeccable. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny.
Breakfast was delicious. They try their best to keep you warm while you eat
Relaxing and great food
We had the Curried apple and butternut squash soup, Seared sea scallops, Pan fried Bronzino. All three dishes are flavor sensations, Accompanied by cauliflower purée garlic herbed relish, spinach with roasted almonds, black kale, and other herbs and flavors. The puffed quinoa and sesame crumbles added so much texture and gave even more flavor depth! The side of fried Brussels sprouts with lime candied pumpkin seeds is okay. The cucumber sparkling water is very refreshing, accompanying the meals perfectly.
The service was awful! The server was so awkward. She would disappear and not come back for a long period of time. When she first came over to take our drink order. After we ordered she informed us that she wasn’t able to take our drink order until after we ordered food. After we were done eating she rushed to clean our table of food so we couldn’t order anymore drinks. It seemed as though she was rushing our dinner service.
Everything was amazing. We loved the new greenhouses. Perfect for a dinner alfresco during these winter months.
Never disappoints! Food and people are amazing!
We had a great experience for lunch. Our waiter Tim was very accommodating . The food was excellent . The hosts were very helpful .
I was looking forward to my first time at Talula’s Garden since I had heard many great things and I’d also picked up delicious items from Talula’s Daily right next door. Moreover, I was expecting a tasty meal & wonderful service since Talula’s is within the Starr portfolio, but that turned out to be a misplaced expectation.
Manager barely greeted us and told us to wait for someone else to check us in for our reservation. The host was friendly enough, but seemed generally overwhelmed and confused. Given that it was brunch, our table was not ready on time, which is really no big deal, so we waited down the sidewalk for our table to become available. As we were waiting for our table we noticed a worker with a big mop bucket heading to a manhole in the street and dumping grey water down it. We were later informed that there was a plumbing issue in the bathrooms, so we can only assume the worst as to what was actually being dumped into an open city sewer.
Once we were sat at our table, our server was kind enough but seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but Talula’s. In fact, all of the servers seemed blasé and indifferent. There were multiple napkins blowing around in the restaurant as it was a bit breezy and the only people that attempted to clean the place up were the food runners, who were the only friendly staff we experienced. I’ve always considered Starr waitstaff to be the best examples of excellent service providers in the industry, but that’s not the case at Talula’s.
As for the food, it was mostly a miss. The only star was the curried apple butternut squash soup which was really scrumptious! The candied Bacon was almost inedible (this is what we were most excited for) as it was dry, tasted stale, and wasn’t “candied” at all, The short rib bowl was pretty well devoid of any flavor... I’ll probably forget about it in a few days. The Local Brunch was satisfactory, but no different what you could find at your average diner... for quite a bit less than $22.
Waitress lacked personality; was not a welcoming experience we usually have here.
Amazing food, great service!
Great experience. I do notice frequent restaurants during the pandemic, but wanted to celebrate my birthday. The staff followed safety precautions and made me feel comfortable.
Talula's had a wonderful ambience with their outdoor dining booths that are decorated with string lights, table cloths and warm wooden vibes. The food was delicious, and the drinks were crafted perfectly. Our server was very kind and attentive. Would go again and recommend to others!
They have done a great job with outdoor dinning. It has central heating
I went here for my birthday with my boyfriend and absolutely loved it. The service was amazing and the food came so fast I think we only waited 5 minutes. They gave us the dessert for free and a small dessert for my birthday! They put the dessert on the house because we had to wait a little for it but it wasn’t anything ridiculous at all, maybe 10 minutes; I was genuinely surprised that they put the dessert on the house! Everything on menu sounded so good and unique. I will definitely be coming back!
We love Talula's! It's a "go to" in Philadelphia for great ambiance, delicious food and friendly, professional service. We dined in the sidewalk "cabins" on a 39 degree evening, and were warm and cozy. Well done, once again, Talula's!
Great food as always. Many safety measures in place, felt comfortable while dining and staff are lovely!
It was a great experience, a bit cold, but great experience!
Delicious food! Love the outdoor seating options as well.
Great service, amazing food!
Amazing, the short rib was incredible and same with the bread pudding.
Amazing food! Best meal all around that I’ve had in well over a year. Best service I’ve had in years! Everything came out so quick and was just a fantastic experience! Beautiful setting . Stephen Starr always has the most organized restaurants with the most customer friendly staff. It’s a consistent theme among his restaurants even during Covid. I felt safe and comfortable.
Outdoor seating was covered and cozy, but with good airflow. Appetizers were delicious, short ribs were just a little tough.
The food is soo delicious. I'll be dreaming of that curry apply and squash soup for days to come. Heads up -- they do have a 1.5 hour limit for reservations. Veryy warm outdoor accommodations.
Great experience, just wish the outdoor seating had a source of heat. Food and service were otherwise great!
What strikes me most about Talulah’s Garden is the service...from the call made to book our reservation (thanks Will) to our check in by their professional team and the caring service by their waiters (thank you Krista)...it was the highlight of our experience at this beautiful restaurant...and the dishes were great!
Look forward to our next time there!
Service was good, the outdoor heated dining was too cold to take off our jackets but warm enough, and overall the food was good just wasn’t anything special. Maybe it’s better for lunch?
Last minute reservation, early arrival, promptly seated- quick and smooth service-
The food was excellent as usual; however it’s was quite a bit cold. I understand restaurants have jumped through hoops to accommodate the crazy rules but this is the first spot I’ve been where I did feel cold while eating.
As usual everything was perfect! The service, the food, the ambiance. Talulah’s Garden is an all time favorite.
