Table is a small, seasonal, New American restaurant in the heart of downtown Asheville. Always inventive and at times whimsical, chef Jacob Sessoms’ daily changing menu is inspired by a wealth of American culinary traditions, paying particular homage to the South. Upon opening the doors in 2005, Table committed to supporting, celebrating, and showcasing regional and sustainable agriculture. Jacob and his team foster long-standing relationships with farmers and purveyors in Western NC and throughout the Southeast.

Complimenting the critically acclaimed cuisine is an equally intelligent and imaginative wine and craft cocktail list, represented both in the dining room and upstairs at The Imperial Life cocktail and charcuterie lounge.

My husband and I recently ate at Table for our anniversary. We wanted something with a creative menu in a great location. It did not disappoint! We ordered the milk bread to start...absolutely delicious, and the Spaghetti Al Nero and Bavette Steak for entrees. Excellent choices...the flavors were exquisite! If you haven’t eaten here, you must try it!

Bone in Rib Eye Steak to share with Sides ? We're in. I knew my carnivorous husband would swoon when he saw the menu and I was not disappointed. You may think $100 for this dish is steep but when you taste the delicious sides that accompany, and cut into that ( at least 35 oz ? ) piece of rib eye, you will realize the value. One of the best tasting steaks we've had in quite some time. I grew up on a cattle farm in rural Minnesota and basic steaks at the grocery store just don't have flavor - so had given up eating much red meat. This steak took me back. So delicious. We also shared the milk bread and the polenta to start - so good. Our service was excellent from the moment we arrived - staff was definitely engaged in ensuring a great experience for their guests. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, great wine and drink list. It was the perfect anniversary dinner and we thank you so much for your wonderful food and hospitality.

Outstanding restaurant and service! Intimate setting and menu changes daily to feature the finest local ingredients. I can't wait to return again and try more dishes. make sure you save room for the exquisite desserts too!.. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately the food was mediocre. We assumed that a restaurant that dares put Amberjack on the menu must make great food.

After ordering (we were told the leg of lamb, while massive, was impeccable and completely worth it), we were brought bread with butter and olives. Then we ordered the charcuterie and cheese platter. One of the meats was very bland. The other two were good - one was more traditional cured meat and the other was like a meatloaf version of cured meat, with lots of things smushed into it. The cheeses were very good and stood up on their own as well as with the meat or bread.

I had asked our waiter to give me a bit of time to choose a wine. When she returned to get my wine order, she was a bit abrasive about it. She offered to help me choose and I accepted, starting to tell her what I normally prefer. Before I could finish my sentence, she had selected the wine she thought I would like. I asked her a followup question about it and she said doubled down on her recommendation without letting me finish explaining. I was unsure but said "alright, let's give it a try." She did not offer me a taste first to make sure I was happy before pouring a full glass. When she came back and asked how the wine was, I expressed my disappointment that it wasn't quite right for me (too fruity for my taste) and she did offer to get me something else. I declined because I personally feel bad wasting a restaurant's alcohol and costing them a fair amount in the process.

When the lamb was brought to our table, it looked great. And it tasted ok. Not fantastic, but good. The main problem was how intensely fatty it was. It made us both feel ill that night and in the morning. It also didn't appear to be trimmed entirely properly and the menu had made it sound like the mint would be a prominent part of the dish but we could barely taste it and certainly couldn't see it. Then again, we couldn't see much since the restaurant was so dark.

We were celebrating a special birthday with 10 of us from out of town. Table Asheville was the perfect Sunday Brunch landing spot for our party. The service was great. The menu met all of our palette needs. Great location. We would definitely visit Table Asheville on our next visit.

Had a wonderful experience dining at Table. I was visiting Asheville for the first time and many locals recommended it to me. The service was excellent, I discovered a great new wine, and their house made bread was fantastic. I ordered the trout ,which was cooked very well. My only suggestion regarding the experience is that I thought the entree was a little overdone with the sauce and all the other ingredients on top of the fish. For me simpler is always better. But I always admire a chef stepping out to do new things. Bravo and best wishes for continued success.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday at Table. First course of cauliflower hummus was exceptionally good, made with a variety of herbs and served with toast points, I could have ordered another as my entree but then I would have missed out on the other great creations. She had the lettuce salad while I ordered the beet salad. Both were great, No "mixed greens" here. Might have been butter lettuce and a variety of veggies. The beet salad was loaded with tasty beets and a delicious marinade. Entrees were roast chicken for her and pork tenderloin for me. Both were incredibly delicious and creative. I highly recommend Table for a great dining experience. Enjoy!

Table continues to improve and new dishes. The Moroccan seafood is an example. Each item of the various species were cooked to perfection, a difficult feat since there is different cooking time for each. It was excellent flavor as well. The tuna was also superb.

I wish the menu online was what was actually on the menu at the establishment. There were too many weird choices. It’s been a while since I have been and I probably won’t go back. Unlike our visit to Table, there are so many restaurants in town that are amazing and leave me wanting to try everything on the menu. We settled on a small plate of tilefish collars and a burger. Not what we were hoping to have for Valentine’s Day.

Came to The Table after it was highly recommended by friends. It did not disappoint! I dined solo at the Chef’s Bar and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Started with a perfectly poured martini and followed that up with ordering several appetizers (broccoli rabe bruschetta, pork cheek peirogi, mushroom and whitefish crepes) instead of ordering a full meal. The bartender expertly recommended pairings for each course. Finished it off with a dessert with the most tender olive oil cake I’ve ever tasted! The evening was delish, entertaining and memorable and the staff were friendly, informative and engaging. I’ll be back!
