A great menu and a wonderful wine list. Outstanding service!
Table Asheville was an awesome, creative dining experience! The bar upstairs, The Imperial Life, is one of the coolest craft cocktail experiences you'll find around as well!
For one of the top rated restaurants in a food-oriented community, the actual taste of the main course was disappointing -- quite common. Appetizer "toast" was delicious.
Everything was beyond perfect. It’s rare a restaurant can get 5 stars in every category I think but this place rocks it! The dish presentation was particularly impressive. Can’t wait to go back!
Lovely blend of tastes.
We were celebrating a special birthday with 10 of us from out of town. Table Asheville was the perfect Sunday Brunch landing spot for our party. The service was great. The menu met all of our palette needs. Great location. We would definitely visit Table Asheville on our next visit.
Food a little too salty but very creative and great service and atmosphere
My husband and I visit Asheville every couple of years and always make a point to dine at Table. It is absolutely our favorite Asheville restaurant and our experience this evening was superbly perfect.
we went to this asheville institution for a guaranteed great experience on our third anniversary
We were greeted upon arrival and taken directly to our table. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable and helpful with wine selections. The food was very good. I’d be happy to go back to Table
Disappointed from reviews read prior to making reservations. While service was good the food was average. The coffee was hardly warm with the very dry olive oil cake.
Had a wonderful experience dining at Table. I was visiting Asheville for the first time and many locals recommended it to me. The service was excellent, I discovered a great new wine, and their house made bread was fantastic. I ordered the trout ,which was cooked very well. My only suggestion regarding the experience is that I thought the entree was a little overdone with the sauce and all the other ingredients on top of the fish. For me simpler is always better. But I always admire a chef stepping out to do new things. Bravo and best wishes for continued success.
My wife and I celebrated her birthday at Table. First course of cauliflower hummus was exceptionally good, made with a variety of herbs and served with toast points, I could have ordered another as my entree but then I would have missed out on the other great creations. She had the lettuce salad while I ordered the beet salad. Both were great, No "mixed greens" here. Might have been butter lettuce and a variety of veggies. The beet salad was loaded with tasty beets and a delicious marinade. Entrees were roast chicken for her and pork tenderloin for me. Both were incredibly delicious and creative. I highly recommend Table for a great dining experience. Enjoy!
Went there with a large group and they were amazing
Decadent cocktails, mouth-watering food, and absolutely beautiful customer service. Thank you for making my husband"s belated birthday celebration a special night. We will be visiting again!
Ambiance and service were top notch! Very good food and drinks! Loved the Pomegranate and apple crumble for dessert.
Table continues to improve and new dishes. The Moroccan seafood is an example. Each item of the various species were cooked to perfection, a difficult feat since there is different cooking time for each. It was excellent flavor as well. The tuna was also superb.
We come to Table often and always enjoy it. It’s a place we feel confident recommending to anyone visiting our area.
The service and drinks were excellent. The duck with spaetzel was delicious, and though the tile fish was not as well executed, we would definitely go back!
Great food and service outstanding job!
I wish the menu online was what was actually on the menu at the establishment. There were too many weird choices. It’s been a while since I have been and I probably won’t go back. Unlike our visit to Table, there are so many restaurants in town that are amazing and leave me wanting to try everything on the menu. We settled on a small plate of tilefish collars and a burger. Not what we were hoping to have for Valentine’s Day.
Just ok ... have been several times previously when I would say amazing
Came to The Table after it was highly recommended by friends. It did not disappoint! I dined solo at the Chef’s Bar and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Started with a perfectly poured martini and followed that up with ordering several appetizers (broccoli rabe bruschetta, pork cheek peirogi, mushroom and whitefish crepes) instead of ordering a full meal. The bartender expertly recommended pairings for each course. Finished it off with a dessert with the most tender olive oil cake I’ve ever tasted! The evening was delish, entertaining and memorable and the staff were friendly, informative and engaging. I’ll be back!
Always a great experience and will be happy to return. The food quality is excellentAnd the restaurant is a great setting
The mushroom and fish crepes appetizer was spectacular! Tender, delicious bites that made you want to say "Mmmmmm" with your mouth full! I had the Tilefish - order this whenever you see it on the menu! Delicious! Tender yet gently spiced. My husband had the lamb - tender and succulent. Dessert was amazing - flavored ice cream with a bread pudding? We ate it so fast I don't remember what it was! Even the French-pressed decaf coffee was delicious. This is a must-go-to for anyone who enjoys good food that you couldn't possibly fix at home.
The menu was pretentious but the listed dishes didn’t really appeal and we ended up ordering the burger (which was good). Prices too high for Asheville- ribeye for 2 at $99 -really?
Very noisy but the food made up for it. Hard to carry a n a conversation.
we enjoyed Table as part of Restaurant week in Asheville. Nice fixed menu for the week.
Good steak, amazing pumpkin soup and very good desserts.
This place has some inventive twists on the usual modern American bistro fare. Leans toward Italian influences. Interesting wine list with some rarities, but not expensive necessarily. Service was adept if a bit precious. Most of the food was bland and some dishes just did not work (bone marrow). Duck bruschetta was outstanding though.
We came out for restaurant week on the recommendation of a friend. The experience was excellent start to finish. The curried soup was fantastic, the trout was perfectly cooked (I even ate the skin),and the pudding dessert was the ideal ending. Hope to come back again
Table is a great spot for creative dining and local ingredients. Previous comments about noise level and music quality appear to be addressed with several sound baffles but it still doesn't qualify for me as a quiet romantic experience. Of our party of 4, everyone enjoyed their appetizer, entree and dessert immensely. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. Table would have gotten 5 stars (I would rate it 4 1/2 but couldn't split stars!) but for the rather high prices. The portion sizes were perfect and using local seasonal ingredients should not cost extra. Yet the prices were about $3-10 more than other downtown Asheville restaurants with similar menus and some with more ambiance. We still agreed we would recommend it to others and potentially return.
Very nice restaurant and great tasty food. Music too loud and it was difficult to hear my friends that were dining with us.
Had lunch there during Restaurant Week. Arrived early and by the time we finished it was crowded. Food is consistently good, service was good. Shrimp &Grits was very good, but different. Parking is easy with a city garage just across the street. Although they don’t validate parking the first hour is free! so parking is cheap!
Excellent dinner. Amazing chicken!
Way too loud with horrendous music selections and sound quality for the type of restaurant and space. You cannot focus on the food or your conversation because of the commotion. On the bright side, the food is delicious and the service is attentive. The portions seem a little small for the price, but don’t be deceived. They are actually well-portioned and balanced.
Have you ever gotten a bad feeling right when you enter a restaurant? That was our experience at Table on Saturday night.
The first sign of a bad experience was being seated by what appeared in retrospect to be the owner. He seated us. He did not greet us. He did not smile at us. In fact he seemed rather perturbed that we were even there. Like we were an inconvenience to him.
The second sign was being sat at a table that was clearly listing to the right and, for two, was simply not intimate enough. I felt like I was sitting across the restaurant from my date, and was actually closer to the gentlemen sitting at tables on either side of us.
The third sign was the food. I read online that the restaurant has a “seasoned” team of restaurant professionals. If so, then they appear to be the only thing in the restaurant that was, in fact, seasoned. Not a single bite of anything we ordered had any flavor.
The house made bread which was cold, not warm, and had a spongy texture and no flavor was accompanied by a whipped butter that also had no flavor.
The radicchio salad with avocado had only the bitterness of the greens and nothing else going for it.
The bone marrow was hidden by a mound of shaved root vegetables that had no flavor. Which was a perfect accompaniment to the flavorless bone marrow—how can marrow not have flavor? But this appetizer at least had the one thing we ate that had flavor, the grilled bread. Unfortunately it was a large chunk of grilled bread—not even toast points. I’ve never seen that before and never hope to again.
Finally, the table fish ceviche which had, you guessed it. No flavor. No spice. No saltiness. Just nothing.
About the only thing decent was our server.
I don’t understand at all what the fuss is with this place or how it’s been around so long unless it is slipping of late. I would not recommend it nor will I try it again.
Even if the owner promised to greet me with a smile.
Great appetizers and sides, however the main course did not meet expectations. It too long to come out, some parts of my dish we're cold while others hot, and the portion for the steak was tiny. The owner/manager recognized the mistake and comped us on the sides, however still need to rate it a 3.
My friend had the pork cutlet that did not have much flavor & edges were crispy burnt.
Coulter steak....five small pieces.
None marrow...not much here. I’ve ordered this twice here and both times disappointed.....smallest amount I have ever seen comparing to other restaurants. Marrow was not very rich.
We were disappointed. Have been to Table several times, but not for awhile. We had really talked up the HNG pork chop to our friends and were looking forward to having it. Best pork chop we have ever had at a restaurant! And it is no longer on the menu! Crab toast was excellent, burger was just average (though cooked perfectly) - but came with a gargantuan pile of fries. So many that they overwhelmed the plate Chicken entree was fair - a little dry. Calamari was nothing to write home about. Again, we were very disappointed - especially since we had bragged about how good it was to our friends. Will give Table one more try, but can't recommend it to friends anymore. Also, the lighting was so dim that the menu was difficult to read. However, that seems to happen more and more with many restaurants, so we can't really hold that against Table.
Food was good. Very loud though. We had a hard time hearing each other.
