Amber did a wonderful job as my server! Went above and beyond in providing me what I requested, thanks!
Food was terrible and overpriced and server was rude.
service and food was wonderful
Great food and service after a long day in the Zion National Park. We were here during the Thanksgiving week, and this is a great choice to be with friends and family and enjoy good menu options and good drinks. They make good coctails and have a good selection of wine.
We were traveling in the red rock country for a week and this was, by far, the best meal. We had the rack of lamb and pork ribs. Both dishes were probably the best renditions we've had. Highly recommended.
We had an amazing meal. Food was so delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter was the best!!!! He had a foreign name that I can't remember and he was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and his service was impeccable. He made us feel very special. He was also waiting on a large party in a separate room but he never forgot about us. Probably one of the best waiters we have ever had. This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise and I highly recommend it!!!
The fish is flown in daily and never frozen. The crab cakes were amazing along with the sea bass and halibut. The place is beautiful too! Perfect fine dinning in Zion.
Great food and great service. We had a reservation for 4, but added 3 more last minute and they made it happen. Very enjoyable dinner.
Did a last minute reservation and arrived on time and seated promptly. Server came over to fill our water glasses but it became apparent that he was not our main server. This server came over twice to fill our glasses before our real server came to take our drink orders. He was a bit surly and pretentious, not our cup of tea. After delivering our drinks, he told us the specials and then was back within a minute to take our orders. A bit rushed. We had the slab of bacon as an appy. It was delicious along with the stuffed figs that accompanied it. Hubby had the bacon wrapped meatloaf and I ordered the petite filet. Server asked what sauce i wanted and what side, so I picked one of each. Was a little surprised to get charged for the sauce and side as server made it sound as if it was included. Both entrees were fantastic, well prepared and cooked perfectly. Very pricey but the meal and ambience was worth it. Just need to find time the service.
Was pleasantly surprised by our dining experience here. I know it’s known for its steaks but I decided on the meatloaf. It was absolutely amazing. The bread service plate was very good as well. Definitely recommend this place and we’ll be back.
The food and the service was excellent. Our steak was cooked properly and our cesar salad was delicious. Very impressed with the service. Next time we visit we will dine there again.
What a find in Springdale! Best restaurant in town & made our trip to Zion even more special
Went solo, prob not a solo place. I was just visiting Zion and stopped in. I had meatloaf, crème brûlée. The food was good huge portions. Waitress kept forgetting my drink, then I asked for another once I received first and she forgot until I was eating dessert and at that point I no longer wanted so I told her to cancel it. I asked for no gravy on meatloaf, it had gravy. I think she was more concerned with larger tables, even though I spent enough for 2. Food was good regular steak house food, restaurant is very nice on inside
Food was good. Service marginal. Asked for a second glass of wine. It was never brought.
We had a birthday celebration dinner for 14
I requested a cake but was never told that they would have to order the cake in St George
Front desk manager was not cooperative and I felt he couldn’t be bothered
Food and wines were ok, portions much too big and the place is totally overpriced.
Obviously they take profit of people visiting Zions park.
The food and service was amazing. The food portions are very large so bring your appetite, the ribs are an entire rack. I recommend sharing.
Very disappointed in the Switchback. From the moment you walked in the hostess taking names and confirming reservations was rude without reason and was talking only with Restarant folks only. Wait staff was very nice. My steak was to be cooked med well and came out so undercooked. Steak sent back and returned more than well done! No apology from staff. Husbands fish was ok but not great. For the prices, everything ala carte, it is not worth the visit.
Super steak house food. Steak and sides perfect. A little mix up as to who was going to be our server, but, it all worked out OK
High end price-wise but worth it, especially for really tasty beef cuts, good wine, nice decor and atmosphere.
Our waiter, Jason, offered fair service. He was not social, like he was with the table next to us and when he was clearing our entree plates, he did not offer us the option to take our leftovers with us. He just stacked our plates and took them away. Clearly my daughter & I were not the clientele he wanted sitting at his table. The busser was very pleasant and social. The food was tasty but a bit overpriced.
We ate dinner here, fabulous presentation, great taste, and service despite only having 4 server's was great. Looking forward to our next visit.
My husband and I made a reservation while on a trip for our anniversary. I’m thankful that I found Switchback Grille on Opentable and made a reservation as it was booked solid. The meal was excellent, the view was beautiful, and our server,Jason, was helpful and on the spot.
This is a more expensive place to eat. Location close to hotel and the availability for a reservation for 2 was the reason we went there. We felt menu was limited. Smallest filet mignon was 7 oz for $44 and up from there. Chicken was $34. That’s a lot for chicken. Even bread is ala carte. We ended up getting 2 cocktails, meatloaf, an appy and side of augratin potatoes came to $100 with tip. Wasn’t worth it in our opinion.
the menu selection and service were great. My dinner took an extremely long time to arrive at our table as it needed to be remade as gluten free per my request when ordered. We were seated at a small table in a corner next to a large party which included many noisy children. This made it extremely difficult to converse with my dinner partner.
Delicious food, at a good price. Great for a “nicer” meal out while visiting Zion
Food was great. Our server was stretched pretty thin but did a good job nonetheless. Our wine w/ dinner didn't show up until after we had our entrées. Overall a nice place and nice experience.
The mains (both of us had steak) were fantastic and cooked perfectly. Our server, Matt, was also great. The sides were overpriced and did not live up to the quality of the steaks. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people needing to be seated at once but once we were seated, things went smoothly and we had excellent service.
Overall it was very good. My only complaint was that after talking to our waiter twice about not rushing us, the entrees came out before I was finished with my salad. We were in and out of Switchback In just over an hour. If I am going to dine in a reasonably expensive restaurant, I want to savor my food and the dining experience. It should not have been a problem given that we twice told him not to rush us. Will I go back or recommend? No.
Excellent steaks and service! Pricey but a nice dinner and atmosphere in Springdale.
The service and the food was outstanding. The Colorado rack of lamb was the best lamb I ever had. Juicy, flavorful and perfectly prepared topped with a blackberry glaze. Roasted vegetables as the sides. A delicious layered potato. Draft beers and wine by the glass are available. The service was excellent. The ambiance is beautiful. Of course you are in a tourist town and you're not going to get a deal at a high end restaurant.
Great Steaks! Nice atmosphere. Probably one of the better restaurants in Springdale.
Happened across this restaurant while visiting Zion National Park. Very nice decor, Excellent filet, soups were delicious. Great service. Highly recommended.
This was a mixed experience for us. We were hoping for a relaxing tasty meal after days of hiking and eating trail mix. The food was excellent. I had a NY strip done to my liking with a tasty peppercorn glaze. My wife had pecan encrusted trout, which she enjoyed. However the service was abysmal. I understand that staffing is a problem for all eateries, and as such is essentially an equalizer when comparing dining experiences. Unfortunately at Switchback the wait staff were not attentive at all. We waited an hour for our food, with no apologies or explanations as to the delay. The waiter once stated without any remorse that it was his fault!? The food was good, but the overall experience was marred by this poor service. I would look elsewhere for dining in Springdale.
The weight stuff and food were all excellent
The food and service was excellent!! Can’t wait to go back!’
Server outstanding. Food good, not great. Wine selection fair.
It was the best meal of our 7 day trip!
Beautiful restaurant with lovely
View of Zion.’
We started with soup and beet salad which were delicious.
But the entrees were disappointing.
The trout was presented as a vertical tower, very strange, and was minus any sauce, hence extremely dry and tasteless.
The halibut which is a dry fish unless prepared correctly ,was a nice piece of fish but overcooked and again without any sauce. It was like chewing sawdust which was a shame as the fish was a generous portion and of excellent quality. In short the setting and ambiance are 5 star, portions are generous, but our fish entrees were very poorly done.
Food was amazing. It was the perfect way to end a long day of hiking!
Beautiful restaurant with very good service and food. Fillet was delicious, tender and perfectly cooked. Creme brulee was great too!
