Applewood smoked bacon, stuffed mushrooms & parma creme.
with fresh berries.
Waiter was informative and had great suggestions. The seaBass was very nice as was the Wedge salad and the scallop appetizer.
Best place in Zion National Park area. Highly recommended a
Great restaurant in small town; the menu is excellent & the food is outstanding. The service is very attentive, but not intrusive. The ambiance is mellow & quiet, seating is very comfortable, & the views are amazing. Blake was our server: very personable & efficient, knew the menu & ingredients, and offered some very good suggestions. Best of all: he remembered us from our last visit & recalled what we ordered the last time. We have another reservation for this weekend & will continue to patronize the Switchback. Our go-to night out.
Vacation dining. Great!
Wanted a nicer meal after camping/road tripping the US. Found this place and while it certainly was a good meal compared to what we have been having, I’ve had many really great meals in other places for such a high price tag.
A bit pricey, very good overall. I recommend the creme brûlée.
Lovely setting and great menu. Very accommodating and food was delicious!
Good place to eat, but if not in Zion would not pay the premium. I would compare the steak to Black Angus. The atmosphere was nice however we have dined in far nicer places for much less. I will say the wait staff was great though they couldn't figure out who was going to wait our table. All in all I'm not upset we tried them out but was definitely not blown away like I would expect to be on a $50+ plate.
What a fun spot! Staff were amazing so friendly and helpful! Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The location is beautiful! A must stop when traveling to Zion!
Absolutely perfect meal; the service, the food, the ambiance, and the Covid precautions made us feel really safe. We are going back tonight! Steak was prepared to right temp, beet salad was extraordinary, and the creme brûlée was delicious with tons of berries, but the creamed spinach was the stand out best I’ve ever had. I use House of Prime Rib in SF as my measuring stick for creamed spinach because theirs is excellent but Switch Back Grills is better. The spinach tasted just picked and not overdone with the right amount of creaminess. I’m having it again tonight, lol.
Amazing bartenders, Kate, was the epitome of awesome
Service was bad! We have been there 2-3 other times and were blown away with the exceptional service. This time it felt like we were to fend for ourselves. Even getting drinks and appetizers took too long. Actual dinner took longer to get. Just because I am taking awhile to eat my appetizers, doesn’t mean that I don’t want my main dish right away. The waitress kept watching me to see if I was done eating, which I wasn’t and it prolonged my main dish coming out. Who does that!!!!
Should close down your opentable if you’re not open! Ruined our entire night had to figure out where to go for a similar meal last minute. So unprofessional!
The food was really outstanding, the place is beautiful and really cozy, but the service was kind of bad, our waitress took some wrong orders and also kept rushing us to take the plates out.
Wonderful dinner experience. Food was 5-Star along with the service.
Food was outstanding! When unsure of what to get with your main dish, ask you waiter/waitress!!! They know what compliments each item perfectly! Would definitely recommend to another friend as a date idea. 5/5
We had terrible service. The calamari wasn’t edible...it had been cooked too long. Ordered a steak to be cooked medium and it was well done. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and everyone else in our party had finished eating and was waiting and the new steak still hadn’t been brought out. They put it in a box to go while we were settling the bill but when you go out to eat the point is to be able to eat together. Would never recommend this restaurant. Can’t justify the price for the marginal service and food. Just doesn’t tick the boxes for the type restaurant they advertise themselves as.
Geburtstag, wurde aber nicht so richtig wahrgenommen
Switchback served one of the best ribeyes I’ve ever had. The creamed spinach was equally as good.
I highly recommend the restaurant!!!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at SWBG on Monday evening, 11 November 2019. The service provided us by our highly adept and knowledgeable waiter, Joshua, was a most pleasant experience. Our reservations were promptly honored upon our arrival. The food was exquisite: Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops and Caesar Salad (w/extra anchovies) to start and the Stuffed Free Range Chicken for my Entree. My wife's entree; however, was "over the top." Her's was the Vegetable Collection and she chose Creamed Spinach, Creamed Corn, Grilled Asparagus, and Mashed Potatoes with Rosemary / Thyme infused Gravy. (A patron can choose a wide variety of vegetable offerings.
Fabulous food! Great menu with lots of options for both meat and seafood lovers. The crab cakes were amazing.
Thought service could have been a little swift, but food was very good so wait was bearable.
Meat sent back because it was undercooked. Calamari not crisp—was mushy and not hot.
We dined here one night during our Zion adventure. Very pretty dining room and comfortable. The food is diverse and portions are large (a common theme in Zion area). My wife had the halibut with the coconut risotto and loved it. I had the Bison...it was done to perfection...only complaint...it was tough as nails. Good flavor...just bring your saw. Observed many other options coming out of the kitchen...think it was just my choice.
Great meal in Springdale, service was professional, friendly, presentation of food above average, generous servings.
Worth the slightly higher prices. Recommend
I order the Octopus that was supposed to come with okra onions bell peppers which did have onions bell peppers but I'm lucky if I seen a little bit of okra didn't taste as good as it did 2 years ago. Had the Chilean sea bass which was wonderful but it said it came with brussel sprouts and bacon hash there is more Potatoes than anything else. Had dairy few brussel sprouts.
Had the scallops appetizer
Unfortunately the bacon wrapped scallops were over grilled resulting in slightly burnt bacon and very dry scallops.
My cocktail was excellent and my vanilla milkshake to go was very tasty.
I did not complain about the scallops because wait staff was too awesome to whine about an over cooked appetizer m.
As always, it is the best restaurant for an upscale meal in Springdale.
The food quality, and abundant menu selections, are unsurpassed.
While it is more expensive, it is worth it for the special night out during your stay.
For a small town I thought the meal was good. But as I compare it to all meals...the reason for an okay review
The hostess informed us that there was an hour wait. She inquired if we had made a reservation, which we hadn’t. She told additional couples the same thing and many left. I logged on to Open Table & was able to secure a reservation with in the next 15 minutes. Hostess stated they could not take us back until the reservation. Sat down and 5 other tables were open. We were greatly confused why there was an hour wait.
We ordered two dinners. Both with 7 ounce beef . filet. We each wanted different vegetable sides which were al a carte. The waitress never mentioned the size the sides and we ended up with enough vegetables to feed 6. It was depressing to have paid so much for a special meal and to have that much wasted. There was no apology from the waitress and although she called the manager he was dismissive. He explained a la carte like we were idiots with no reasoning on how he would work his logic with a single diner. Would one person get enough vegetables for 3? Anyway not great service for an upmarket Restaurant.
Food was overpriced for the area and ribeye not nearly as tender as hoped for. Baked potato and wine were good.
Very much enjoyed the Switchback!!
Very rushed service.
We went out for our 10th anniversary hoping for a nice meal out, and were out in 50 minutes!
That could be forgiven if the food was great, but it was pretty average.
Food was delicious but overpriced. Was disappointed in lack of attentiveness of our server.
Absolutely delicious food! Beautiful ambience and decor. Service was good, but too slow at the end. The high quality justifies the high prices! Would definitely recommend:-)
Unfortunately, I would like to give a better review but the particular night we were there they had a special event going on and dedicated most of the servers to it. Our server did his/her best with all the tables they had to service, but it was very poor service. We waited 15 min after we sat down before we were even acknowledged. The water was lukewarm (we had to ask for ice to put in the water...the server brought us a large BOWL of ice and sat it on the table...didn't offer to take our drinks and put ice in them.) Once we got our meal, the server never came back to check on drink re-fills. We only had melted ice left in the bowl of ice to replenish our water glasses. After we had been finished with our meal for 10 minutes, we had to go find the hostess and ask him/her about getting our check and paying for our meal. Switchback should have had more servers this particular evening and I'm sure our experience would have been different. It's a lovely atmosphere with a great view for dinner.
Raljoy was our server and he was excellent! We never felt rushed!
We ate here while in Zion. We were seated right away and had a great corner table. My husband and I split the haddock special which was one of the best pieces of fish we have ever had. Done perfectly over risotto with grilled asparagus. This might be a steak house but the fish was a winner!!
