Excellent door and service. I Highly recommend.
The staff was very friendly, the
Food divine and the screened patio, sooo pleasant
Outstanding food! Melissa has outdone herself this year again. Do not miss this wonderful food, great relaxing guitar music and great ambience. Best place on the island!!
Food was not as good as expected. Friend's filet was thin and overcooked. Truffle mashed potatoes had no taste. Farro risoto was blah.
Was pleasantly surprised by our dining experience here. Blake was a wonderful server, and very knowledgeable on the menu and speciality items that he would recommend. 10 out of 10!
If you want something different, this is the place to go. Great food, nice atmosphere! No children’s menu, so I would keep this dinner for adults.
We love this place. The last 2 times we have eaten there, appetizers and drinks are awesome. But choice of entrees has been too limited. my wife ordered redfish. It was over cooked and a bit dry because of it. Frits and mussels was awesome as usual. Salad of watermelon, tomato etc also very good. Service is very good in terms of timing. But male server working outside, while competent, is affirmatively aloof. Almost aggressively aloof. I’m not one that wants a server sucking up to me but he makes a point of being detached. Does his job, but not friendly. We will go back for sure. This restaurant sets it own standard and has for years. Last 2 times there, they are not meeting their standard. It’s not bad, but it’s not excellent, which is their standard.
Sweet Melissa’s it THE PLACE TO GO when in Sanibel IF you appreciate outstanding food. It has an interesting variety of menu items and it is so far above, in quality, of any other restaurant on the island.
The seafood stew is always delicious!
This was our very best meal in Sanibel Island! The food and service were outstanding! My favorites were their avocado croutons and the mozzarella tomato salad. The scallops were amazing as well. Wish I lived there so we could eat there all the time.
As always experience was wonderful grilled salad and fish stew are the best.
Love the outdoor space. Hope can will keep it going forward My rating on service was only because I felt rushed.
So good! Best meal we have had in Sanibel!
Outstanding, as always!
Excellent food and the service was more than satisfactory.
Love this place
It has been about three years since our last visit to Sweet Melissa’s and the experience remains as good as ever. Food and service were excellent. The ambiance indoors is a bit dark in the early evening. We wanted to sit outside on a beautiful evening, but no chance on this visit. All our food was creatively prepared, with absolutely fresh fish, tasty locally grown veggies in the salad, and an interesting and flavorful twist on strudel — made with bananas, rather than apples. We will return.
was excellent . the menu had great choices but liked that it was limited to the best dishes and not a book :) the service was great . they have outdoor and covered option seating which are great option with the pandemic. they had live music which was one man guitar.. this fitted the ambience perfectly without being too loud
The best restaurant in the Sanibel Island, period!
Great food with French “je ne sais quoi” that is very good.
Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish
The outdoor sitting was all done with lights, lanterns and landscaping.
Food was excellent as was the service! Loved it👏
I have been eating there for a number of years. The food is consistently good and the service always friendly and attentive.
Great variety of food and good service. All meals were really good, but my wife’s salmon was a bit undercooked. They offered to get her something else, but everyone was already done with dinner. We usually go here 2-3 times during vacation. We look forward to our next reservation on Saturday night.
Sweet Melissa's is our favorite place to dine on Sanibel. The food is always made of the freshest ingredients, made in delightful ways. Always some surprises!
We dined outside on a warm moonlit night. Very pleasant evening. Thank you.
Blake did fantastic explained every thing very attentive
Explained the specials and deserts perfectly
Answered all questions
We visit SM every time we visit Sanibel
We ate at wonderful restaurants all week on Sanibel. By Friday, we considered maybe skipping since we had eaten so much wonderful food. Thank goodness we didn’t. Sweet Melissa’s was amazing and probably our favorite restaurant on Sanibel. We loved the ambiance, service was spot on and the food! Wow! Love the open kitchen so we can see and hear all the lively action. The classic guitar player was a nice touch and we thought it was great the sound was piped into the restaurant as well.
Dining at Sweet Melissa's is always a very special treat. Every dish was superb!
I enjoyed the mussels and frites as well as ramen and shrimp with poached egg. Both tasty. Hubby had fish stew which he liked. Nothing phenomenal but very good. Disappointed that several cooks (open view kitchen) were not wearing masks (how is it possible to not get shut down?!!!) but other than that an enjoyable evening.
Food & Service were both great!
Been eating there for years. Food , service, ambiance all 5 star as usual. One if the best restaurants on the island .
Please don’t ever change .
This is our "Go To" place for great dining on Sanibel. Always great atmosphere, often including live entertainment. The menu includes all kinds of great items and nightly specials are usually interesting and very good. All of the servers do a great job of keeping the meal flowing and meeting all needs.
The food was excellent and the service was very good but the seating was not as expected. We requested outside seating and were placed next to the parking lot. In the past we were seated in the screened in patio. Where we sat we were bothered by mosquitoes throughout the meal. Location of the outdoor seating made us feel we were not part of the restaurant.
Outside dining met our expectations. The specials were prepared especially well. There was a guitarist playing quietly in the background. It was our first time at Sweet Melissa's. We will be back
Food Always amazing. Seating placement a little strange. Was great to be open on a holiday but, Felt rushed out for no reason. Good thing the food is always amazing.
Disappointing. From the small plates we ordered baby kale salad, octopus and squash blossoms. Kale salad was overpowered by bacon. If you love kale, you do not necessarily love that much of salty, fried bacon. Octopus was ok, blossoms were really bland. No taste, except fried blossom itself. For the main course we had filet mignon, which was really good. Seared scallops were good, accompanying pork belly was good, but together it did not make sense. We also had a fish stew. Even half a portion as big. Again, no taste really. Aioli sauce was far and between and it lacked the garlic. The broth was good but needed a punch. Toast itself was yummy. We passed on dessert.
It was one of our favorite restaurants on Sanibel. The food was outstanding. Beautiful patio for outdoor comfortable seating. Exquisite flavors in every meal and appetizer we ordered. Kale salad and heirloom special salad was amazing!
I had requested outdoor dining yet when I arrived, there did not seem to be a notation of this. We have been at sweet Melissa‘s many times in the past. The food was just mediocre this time as opposed to the past. The special snapper was soggy inside and the duck was bland. The server forgot to include our two bottles of wine on the original check and later fixed it. Just an ok experience.
The blacken red fish was wonderful and the goat milk cheese cake exceptional!!
The food from start to finish was creative, unique and so delicious!! Melissa is an impressive chef and we will certainly return frequently. An expanded menu would be nice.
