This was a Valentine’s Day dinner a night early for me and my wife. Our server was attentive, but didn’t hover. The ambience was great considering noise level, lighting, and interior design. Drinks were delicious, though we didn’t try anything unique. We started with the sides of beets and carrots and were pleasantly surprised at how delicious they were; nearly a plate on their own. We asked for them to be served before our meal and the timing was just right. I had salmon and my wife had scallops and we cleaned our plates like we hadn’t eaten before. I would recommend this for casual dining or a date.
I visited on a Monday evening for a post work meal. It was quiet with a dim lighted ambience. Service was great and the food was great, especially the Swank Burger! Would definitely recommend.
We spent the night at the Paramount Hotel on Saturday night and had dinner at Swank & swine. We had excellent service and the food was delicious and unexpectedly creative. I will highly recommend Swank and swine to others
It was pretty chilly in there and we had to keep our jackets on. That is the only complaint. Food and service was amazing
An overall pleasant experience, good for a pre-Symphony dinner. The food was a mixed bag. Scallops were excellent with nice mix of flavors; the burger was mediocre. Wine selection was not as good as expected for such a wine-centric city.
Offered a fireplace seating even though we arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation. Thank you, the fireplace made our date night magical and romantic. Great ambiance and wonderful whiskey flights!
We had amazing creative food that blew us away. The pork dumplings and charred beets were the highlights!
The food was excellent but service was slow. Our waitress seemed to forget about us and two tables seated well after us received their food before us. We arrived to an empty restaurant at 5:30 and it stook 40 min to get our food.
Baked eggs were bland and unseasoned and served with cold naan with bland avocado spread. Waitress mixed up the o her order at the table and couldn’t remember our drink order. Unimpressed.
Amazing brunch and excellent service! A must when telling my out of town friends where to go!
It was great took the kids out to NYE Late Dinner and we had wonderful service provided by Swank Staff Members, Everything turned out Great!
Great location before attending concert nearby. Average food - good, but not amazing.
NYE date night for new parents. Excellent experience. I would definitely return.
Food was good but the waitress was less than enthusiastic
Beef Tartar and scallop dish was divine! Cocktails were tasty as well. Would definitely go back here!
Quiet place for brunch or lunch. Great bar. Eggs Benedict was fantastic. Chicken and waffles not so much. The waffles were great, but the chicken was rather flavorless.
All enjoyed their beverages and entree. We went there for meal before a show at Newmark. We were all very impressed with the overall experience. Only downside was no GreyGoose vodka..but no worries. Next time, we will try the Swine also. Keep up the good work!!
Limited menu service started out well then fell apart. One hour 35minutes for entree .
Had to ask to get plates cleared and had to ask for dessert menu.
Never ordered a dessert because waiter never came back.
To bad because it's close to the theater.
The bathroom the restaurant guest have to use was really in need of housekeeping.
No valet parking for restuarant either.
Salmon was excellent..cooked perfectly. Roasted beets were great addition. Perfect spot for business dinner.
The grilled cheese is amazing! We had the brownie too which was super yummy.
We always enjoy our visits to S&S - great location, ambiance, service & food - we especially enjoy going there around the holidays! Recommend for group, date or just good eats!
We needed a place to go last minute for Thanksgiving and thought Swank and Swine’s menu looked great. The food was ok, the service was painfully slow, and we all came home feeling hungry. Maybe they were short staffed because it was a holiday?
Service was excellent!
We had a party of 5, two of us ordered the waygu beef, the beef was grizzly, potatoes had no flavor. We let the waiter know but he offered no assistance or alternative meal. One of us had a good meal but we were disappointed with the others. Desert was good although the chocolate mousse was very gritty and not smooth as expected. The location and ambiance was nice, kind of a pain that bathrooms were located downstairs so you had to
Take an elevator.
The service was outstanding. We barely thought of something we might like and "poof" it was there.
Have enjoyed this restaurant previously for lunch and brunch but it was crowded this particular evening and the fish and farro were both undercooked.
I came in to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The wait staff repeatedly forgot orders from people at my table. They forgot drinks, and desserts for different people at my table. When I ordered my food, I ordered medium-rare. My food came out well-done. Sent it back. Got my food 20 minutes later. Food was actually really good once it came, but honestly, I was fed up by that point. This was probably the best food I will never consider eating again.
I'm a big word of mouth guy, I tell friends, family and anyone who will listen. The food was exceptional! Service was friendly and fast. Presitation was elegantly put togeather and the taste was out of this world perfect! My new go to spot!
A delightful surprise. Wonderful food, easy relaxed vibe, and a great location
These are two venues in the lobby of the cute Paramount Hotel. Swine is a bar/lounge, Swank is a restaurant with fireplace, big windows and minimalist decor (the hard surfaces make it pretty noisy). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and our food (Shrimp Louie and the house burger) was excellent. Their mimosas were smooth and tasty, and the "bottomless" option quite a bargain!
Loved the ambiance, location, etc. service was spectacular. Drinks were stellar. All good
Ended up here on accident (another restaurant had a much longer wait), and we could not have been happier. Yes, it is a bit more expensive compared to some others in the area, but the food is really well thought out and very delicious, portion sizes are perfect, and the ambiance is really great. Was only in Portland for a short time, but would go back if I am ever in the area again.
We’ve been coming here for a long time, and something just hasn’t seemed the same for the last year. We used to think you had THE BEST breakfast in town, but a lot of the little touches are gone. Those little free donuts seem to no longer be given, the Ham & Cheese omelette could have been from Elmer’s, etc etc. It’s not bad, it’s just not as good as it used to be...
Service and food was excellent as always. Loved tasting the rare whiskeys they had in stock.
Bad food, overpriced. I will not go back. Nice looking place, however and centrally located.
We reserved a table at Swank and Swine specifically for their steak dish. Unfortunately, an entire party before us ordered steak leaving none left for us to order. Therefore,
we did not stay for dinner. Hostess was very apologetic. The survey would not allow me to proceed without rating each category which is why all ratings were low.
Swank is the restaurant we at in on a quiet Sunday eve with pleasant service and good food. Three in ur party of five gave the steelhead five stars. short ribs and duck got fours. Swine is the cozy bar nearby and ideal for a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap. Easy to find just a block off Broadway.
We went for dinner before going to listen to a speaking event which started at 8:00 pm. Our reservation was at 6:15. We were seated immediately and ordered some cocktails. The waiter came by to see if we wanted to order when we got our cocktails. We told him we were going to an event, and after checking g his watch, he said we had time and would come back in ten mins. He came back and we ordered. At about 7:20 or so, we started wondering where our food was as we only had about 20 minutes to eat it. We asked about our order and was told the kitchen was a little backed up and should come out shortly. One of the managers came by and explained the the situation again but had comped our dinner. The food came about 7:30. We quickly ate it, which was excellent tasting, paid for our cocktails and made it to our event.
We have been to this restaurant on several occasions and always had a great experience.
Beautiful flavors and presentation of drinks and dinners. She had the Wild Salmon Tortellini, I had Mary’s Farm Chicken. Service was a bit slow getting started, the wait staff might have included one more given the number of tables to be served. But our foods arrived timely and steaming hot, so we got to our show on time. The owner was very interested in our enjoyment of the restaurant and checked in with us and other diners. Nice touch.
Very poor service, left waiting for drinks we’d ordered for over 20 minutes, also had to request the complimentary donuts.
They did take the drinks off the bill which was nice
