Great time! Good sushi!
Tables were wobbly, seats need recovered. Needs general upkeep.
Always outstanding sushi and service. Been a customer for many years.
Middle of the road across the board
Great waitress. Always solid sushi. The apps came after the sushi. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen.
Terrific and bountiful options on the menu plus they have a separate gluten free menu.
A little worn down
Service was awful. Waitress came around twice and no one was in the restaurant.
Was not impressed. I assumed that because it was at the Domain, the food would be a little better quality. It wasn't horrible, but I won't go back.
I really enjoyed myself at this location while visiting from New York City! The staff was very nice and the happy hour menu was extensive. A huge plus that it was between 4 and 7 PM even on the weekend. Definitely recommend!
I have heard great things about this place and the food did not disappoint. However for a fancier restaurant you would think they would be aware of how bad an impression it leaves to have chairs and booths so tattered and bad looking. I felt like we were having lunch at a place that was about to go out of business.
We also went her for our anniversary because a buddy told me they did a nice dessert for special occasions. I didn't ask for it but did make a reservation and indicated it was our 26th wedding anniversary. The mentioned it when they sat us and when they gave us the check but nothing special or out of the ordinary other than that which was kind of disappointing. Had I know this ahead of time I would have pre-arranged for and gladly paid to have dessert for my wife brought out at the end or meal.
As always the food was amazing. Sad to say on this visit Service was not great
Great service and food especially the sashimi. Highly recommend this place.
Excellent sushi, excellent service.
This was our first visit to Sushi Zushi. We went for my son's 15th birthday. We were less than impressed, this place really needs to take care of the inside. The seats are in terrible condition. I could have forgiven this if the service and food had been up to par but they were not. After we were seated it took 15 minutes before a waiter saw us and that was only because I got one. It was 4:50 on a Saturday and not yet busy. My husband's bowl that held his miso had the color chipping away. They delivered us the wrong food and the food they did deliver us, once right, just wasn't that great. It lacked a good amount of sauce, and the rolls they claimed were spicy just didn't really provide enough spice. Also there was confusion about the birthday. The lady on the phone that spoke with us said they don't do anything for birthdays. A waiter (not ours,) brought out my younger son's ice cream that he got with his meal and informed us they DO, do an ice cream for the birthday boy. Not a big deal, just a side note that not all employees are aware of policies.
It really didn't wow us and it is overpriced for the quality of food and drinks. I heard their lunch menu is alot better than dinner.
I have been a customer of sushi Zushi for over two years. I have taken many families and friends that do not live in Austin to this particular location at the domain. My husband loves the sake flights and I love the cucumber sake martini.
Last night was definitely an off night for sushi Zushi. When I ordered my cucumber sake martini I asked for no spicy rim. They served it with the spicy rim. The waiter did not hesitate and got me a new martini. One of my favorite sushi to order is the San Antonio and the Maki Sushi. My husband usually orders salmon, tuna, yellowtail nigiri, Cucumber roll and a spicy tuna roll. Last night was not good. We were embarrassed to say anything because we are telling our friend how much we love the sushi and we drive from dripping Springs just to go to this particular sushi place. The San Antonio is supposed to be wrapped in cucumbers put together with a skewer and in Ponzu sauce ( I think that’s the name.). Mine was wrapped in cucumber with the outside skin no skewers no ponzu sauce and it was falling apart. It also did not taste very good you can’t eat the outside of a cucumber skin I had to unroll the dark green part in order to eat the sushi. My Maki roll was not rolled tight or cut properly and it was falling apart. My husband’s nigiri did not taste very fresh. Our guest said everything was great but I have a feeling he was just being polite. The only thing we really enjoyed was the steamed edamame, my husband and friend loved the sake flight and my properly prepared cucumber Martini. My waiter was good, I believe his name was Jonathan or Jacob I’m sorry I forgot his name. He was very nice. It may take us a while to go back to your establishment. I may have to look around for a better sushi place
Food came out really slow but the restaurant is not busy at all.
There were plenty of tables but they sat down a group of 5 young adults right next to us that were loud . not sure why they needed to do that. waiter never came by with water .. or to ask if we needed anything else.
Probably won’t try again.
Sushi is always so consistently good and fresh!! Service was pretty slow tonight but our waitress realized that and brought out complimetary edemame which totally made up for it. It's little things like this that make restaurants stand out from the rest.
Menus were stained, torn in places, copied from copies, and there were 6 on the table for two people. The server repeated himself on multiple occasions and it was very awkward. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned and was reminiscent of a fishing town gas station. But fear not, the rainforest sounds they had playing in the stalls more than made up for it? The entire restaurant has not been maintained. Disappointing experience to say the least. Improve your service standards and overall care of the space and you will find more tables full on a Saturday at 7:30.
Host took 20 minutes To acknowledge our arrival. Then she complained about reservation was only for 4 when we had more people and the restaurant was empty and many tables available
Services was ok even though slow
Marginal pseudo-Japanese food coupled with slow service in a diner-like setting.
The table was by the emergency exit door which people kept pulling to try and get in only to have it bang loudly every time since it was locked. Other patrons left through this door so we were constantly bumped by people. We had 3 rolls and an appetizer yakitori, it took 40 minutes to arrive and was not good. The chicken yakitori was the smallest thing I’ve ever seen and the steak was so over cooked it was chewy and tasted like liver. The roles were just okay, two of the three we would never order again. All in all it was a terrible dinner and for $100 we were left disappointed and still hungry.
The staff in general was friendly but our server went above and beyond to answer all our questions and attend to our needs. He was very knowledgeable and a wonderful representative for Sushu zushi. The ambiance was lovely as expected for a Saturday evening. Family friendly and perfect for first dates. Absolutely delicious food, you won't regret it.
Really good sushi and great happy hour. The shoshito peppers are also delicious the way they prepare them. Pretty good service though a bit slow. They were out of all of their craft sake which begs the question of why they have so many on the menu but we did a sake flight instead which was cool to try different kinds. Great location too right at the domain.
sushi was terrible. i hated the food and our waiter was alright
We had a group of 13 people for my wife's birthday party and we were allocated one server. I wasn't sure how it was going to go BUT......Easton knocked it out of the ballpark (pun intended). She was incredible and had everything out to us quickly and the drinks were constantly being refilled. It seems as if she had a twin and didn't tell us. The food and the atmosphere were fantastic. Thank you for the excellent evening!
Nice mix of sushi options, along with noodles and rice based options. Salads are good too.
This restaurant looks like there has been no upkeep since it was built, and it's looking frayed. We asked what was on the happy hour special sushi roll and the answer from our server was, "Well, we have 55 rolls, so it's on the menu... " Our server clearly didn't know the menu... The sushi itself was good though.
Lol how can you go 35 minutes without checking on your table. I literally timed how long it would take to have my water refilled. It never was, server tried acting friendly after he knew he f’d Up. Decent food, but the lack of service will make me never return.
Bad food took like good 45 minutes to get to the table and the sushi wasnt good. Never coming again
Service was very slow and inattentive. It took forever to get our food and drinks. Will not return.
We arrived a few minutes before they opened. There was a funky smell when we came in ( wet carpet? rancid beer ? ). It got better once the A/C kicked in.
My friends ordered sushi. They liked it. I ordered tepanyaki which was OK. I also ordered noodles. Not so good.
At arrival table was not ready. We never got refills for our first water drinks nor offered additional cocktails. We were under impression “emojy” dessert was complementary for a birthday celebration, instead were charged for it and it was melting down by the time it arrived our table. The restaurant did not seem busy, and we usually go to the downtown location, we trusted the sushi zushi name and the prestige’s of the domain. But terribly disappointed while celebrating siblings birthday.
We have been there a bunch of times. Consistently great sushi. Decent service. The only downside this time was the over powering smell of cigarette smoke coming from our waitress.
They are closed.
The food was good. Went at a perfect time, no wait.
