we live in the desert. starved for good sushi. no disappointment at SH.... enjoyed wholeheartedly!
Good sushi, not exceptional, prices reasonable
Good food! The drinks weren’t that great but they were busy so I’d give it another shot
Great sushi for the casual atmosphere and price!
Came for New Years Eve. We had reservations, we arrived 8 minutes late and they still hadn’t put our table together. We sat for 40 minutes before our food order was taken. Then waited at least another 40 minutes for the food to come out. Our waiter seemed to be waiting on way too many tables so I’m assuming they were just understaffed. Just a disappointing experience.
NYE 2020 Dinner! Made reservations and glad we did, the wait for food immediately after we ordered shot up to an hour wait!!
Everything was excellent!
Food - Amazing! Fresh & Flavorful!
Price - on point & reasonable.
Cocktails & Service - Superb!
Ambiance & Noise is my only complaint. We were 1st in for lunch & music was WAY TOO LOUD. Service girl was sweet to put us in far booth where there was no speaker overhead. If music doesn’t bug you you’re fine. If you want top quality sushi - this is the place! Beyond yummy! BUT WHY do restaurants play music at all is beyond me. If your paying top dollar for food you want a relaxing atmosphere-not loud hip hop like a burger joint. My only complaint is turn off the music & let your food do the work - it was outstanding- DONT cheapen the experience with loud music.
Super good service and great quality sushi
Too loud, music was way loud. Couple of our dishes didn’t arrive till everyone was basically done.
Super disappointing. While staff were very nice people, they seriously need training in how to serve paying customers. You can probably get better sushi at gas station... very subpar fish in all respects!!!! While prices might entice you, don’t be fooled. Find a place that values quality ingredients and customers
One of the best sushi restaurants in Austin! We were a little annoyed upon arriving that the hostess didn't have our reservation even though we had it on our open table app and got a confirmation email. So I don't know what was wrong with their system. But the food was wonderful. Will be back
Good food, nice place. Be sure to order any happy hour items well before the end of happy hour. Waiter could not order my happy hour drink because by the time she got to the register, it was one minute past.
Staff was great! Recommended sushi rolls and very attentive to our table.
We arrived at 6:50 and were brought to the table by 6:53. The host said it would be last call for happy hour and it ends in 7 min. We ordered immediately knowing this. When the bill came, no happy hour pricing. Server told me it was 7:01 when she entered it and the computer automatically entered regular pricing. I had to argue with her that we ordered before 7. She had to get approval to give us happy hour pricing.
Horrible service, rude waiter (male server with long gray hair)
Standard sushi, but super fresh. No brown rice options, flakey waiter, moderate price.
Wow what a place. Such great sushi for my Mother’s Day occasion. We even found a lucky ladybug on our table... the symbolism was surreal.
Service was really bad. We walked in from the parking garage, making our way to the front of the Resto to be seated. Waiting a little the host sat us down and said the waitress would be right with is. It was a LONG wait for the waitress who arrived and was rushing to get drink orders. We were ready to order and did so. Food came, I ordered the Sashimi sampler and a roll. The roll was quite tasty, the sashimi was horrible. I mentioned to the waitress that the sashimi wasn’t very good. I think (?) she acknowledged me but I’m not sure. My son ordered another roll, took a while. After it arrived , he finished I had to waive down the waitress for the check. Double jeopardy as I see it. Poor see but really bad food and no concern at all, no thanks.
Friendly service, good food, great experience.
I will not, once the host tells you that your order will be put behind to go orders and you have reservations to begin with I am not so sure I'm recommending that to anyone.
The server knew what sushi rolls to get. We got those and others. The others were awful. The rolls were premade and tasted like they had been refrigerated and precut.
The 2 that the server suggested were good.
An unassuming Japanese restaurant, however, the food is very good, they accommodate vegetarians and food is very tasty. Highly recommend it for their prices.
Droppedcdaughter in UT
Food is always great
Food was great, very consistent! Great service. We sat in the back room. This is the second time we have hosted a large group back there... This room could be a really great private/semi private room, however right now it feels a bit like an employee break room. This won't keep us from coming back, just a suggestion.
No host. Stood there with another guest waiting for a while to be seated.
Ordered an old fashioned. It was just one block of ice with almost no actual drink. Sent that back. Then the waiter dropped his pen in our fried dumplings and picked it up without offering to replace it.
Sushi was eh at best.
The food was great! Our waitress was a sweetheart and was very attentive. We ended up sitting at the sushi bar and the chefs behind the counter were awesome. I definitely recommend the Cosimo sushi roll, it was amazing with the perfect level of spice. We will definitely be coming by back. We loved it here.
Seated promptly, wasn't served food for two hours - service was under attentive. Rude ad when food finally came out it was made wrong. Didn't eat it paid for drinks and left. Poor poor poor !!!
I had dinner with my husband at Sushi Zushi on a warm Friday night. We both loved the location, it was slightly outside the hustle and bustle of downtown and we could find parking easily. Our server was new to the restaurant and she didn't have a lot of recommendations but she definitely had a pleasant personality. The miso soup was cold when they initially brought it out, which they replaced with a warmer bowl when asked (we were also told that the soup was on the house - but they charged us anyway which we didn't mind). The menu is huge - we only wanted sushi so that's what we got. We enjoyed the taste even though the presentation was lacking a bit. Overall, we thought it was a great place to have dinner but a little too pricey for what was being offered.
Everything went great and we even got happy hour prices
Sushi Zushi is always reliably good sushi and other Japanese entrees. The service is quick and friendly.
Very nice restaurant.
Wasn't really accommodated for the occasion that was requested through Open table. Initially we were placed next to a family with kids where thankfully my date said no which they never want to speak up but this occasion they did. Our food was overall good but our entrees took extremely long not to mentioned they came out separately. Our server was very nice but seemed really busy and would rarely come by to check on us because of it. Overall wasn't to happy with the experience.
Great food and great service. Traditional and authentic Japanese Cuisine tweaked and infused with some South American influence. The Nigiri Sushi was fresh. I will be back to try out their other offerings. The lighting was a little on the dark side Collin making the menus a little hard to read. Other than that I found no faults.
I was so excited to try this place. We came from Houston to visit UT!! So we excited to eat there.. we waited 20 minutes to get our drinks ordered. From there it went straight down hill. We waited 40 minutes for our fried rice which was cold and tasted frozen. Then we repeatedly asked for extra wasabi and it never came and when we told the manage he laughed it off and walked away. I do not recommend this place, don’t ruin your dinner experience here.
The restaurant was pretty dirty around where we were seated and the restroom as well. Our waiter was not very busy but took a very long time to take our order and refill drinks. I had to get up and get my own soy sauce after several minutes of not being checked after our food was served. My husband hates his fried rice, but I thought it was ok. The rest of our meal was very good, just seemed kind of pricey for the service and the atmosphere.
Nice place. A bit oof the beaten path if you are a visitor to downtown Austin.
But worth the trip!
Our server was really nice and sweet, but we waited a very long time. About 15 minutes until we were asked if we wanted a drink, about 20 minutes for appetizer and he forgot the edamame. Another 25 minutes for our food. And birthday girl ice cream had to be requested and took another 15 minutes. The check was handled quickly. Nice guy, really good food and terrible, terrible service. If we.go back it will be during daytime and maybe the service will be better.
