Sunset Terrace is our iconic upscale classic restaurant featuring traditional American cuisine with an emphasis on hand cut steaks, seafood and regional favorites and an award winning wine list. Taste signature cocktails paired with popular dishes from the lobster cobb salad to the chilled seafood platter. Located on the outdoor terrace of the 100 year old Main Inn, enjoy breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Executive Chef, Enrique Galan and Chef de Cuisine Joel Mauck craft delectable dishes to be enjoyed with a setting and experience that you will always remember.

For the price we payed was not my favorite meal, for starters there is no sunset view in June. We took my aunt and a friend there we were seated on time our friend ordered the pork belly which could’ve been a little more crisper. We then proceeded to order our meal. I ordered a wedge salad for my husband and I to split and my aunt and I both ordered the scallops. Our friend ordered the special ostrich. We also ordered a bottle of wine. I pointed to the wine on the menu for the waiter, but I guess he misunderstood and ordered us the bottle below, which was twice the price. I did not bring it up to him because I wasn’t sure if it was not my mistake. Next, our salad never came and they brought the entrées we asked what happened to the salad? The waiter made a statement to us that he had ordered it did not know what happened in the kitchen never brought it out. My husband had the salmon which is very much a salmon lover, but was not thrilled about it said the salmon had no flavor and tasted frozen and not fresh. The scallops were delicious that my aunt and I had and the ostrich seem to be a winner with our friend waiter came out and apologize for missing the salad and ordered us the strawberry dessert which turned out to be very delicious.

We come to the Grove Park every time we’re in town. The food and service are outstanding. The venue and views of the mountains are stunning from the terrace. Great for special occasions or just a fine meal in a lovely setting.

We went to the Sunset Terrace for our anniversary lunch. The view was beautiful and the waitstaff was excellent. We both ordered the $40 steak. They were terrible cuts, full of grizzle and overcooked. My creamed spinach was covered in cheese. Instead of spoiling our special day we did not complain and just ate what we could. So disappointed in our very expensive lunch.

The view and service were absolutely amazing. Our waiter Brian was an absolute gem, even being the only server in our section he was on top of EVERYTHING. The wonderful and kind water lady was so sweet and didn't let our glasses get less than half full, the drinks were amazing and the kitchen did us right. Again, I'd like to mention the service given by Brian. He was extremely kind and personable, gave us some beautiful suggestions on the city since we're tourists. I definitely would recommend this beautiful place and I will be requesting him next time if that's possible!

I took a group to the Sunset Terrace for a business dinner. The ambiance was perfect and our food was amazing. I recommend the cold seafood tower and the Chilean sea bass. I also recommend reservations.

Went for our 5th anniversary, and they made us feel so special. Dawid was our server dk if that was typo but that’s what was on ticket lol. But he was great ny strip was delicious, also burrata, Mac chz. Wife had the chicken she loved it. 5 stars all around host, server and rest of staff was amazing and attentive. Beautiful place.

My wife chose the Sunset Terrace to celebrate her birthday, as she has in prior years. The view of the mountain is probably the best in town. We prefer lunch, when it is cooler and the sun is not blinding prior to sunset. The lunch menu is especially good. She had the shrimp cocktail and French onion soup, a favorite combo that was again delicious. Elaine's chicken that I had was terrific, with a fabulous favor. We both had the white Sangria, hers with Prosecco, which made for a very happy occasion. The server was very helpful, attentive, and friendly. Due to the occasion, my wife had domed mocha/caramel dessert, and took home the delightful chocolate and wafer from the server. We highly recommend lunch on the Sunset Terrace.

View is stunning but not the same quality food as in past. Steak ($75 for 8 oz filet) was bland and came well-done after ordering medium rare. Waiter apologized and then came back w another steak that was medium at best. No pink. Dessert came out within 5 minutes of ordering, was tiny and tasted stale. Good wine list. Very nice waiter. Expected dessert at least to be comped for steak snafu. This was my 4th time here in last 10 years and unfortunately my last.
