Suga's Deep South Cuisine
Food was real hard.
Had to whip with brown trash bag paper towel.
Waitress was not attentive.
Manager was real nice and took the entrés off our bill.
They definitely need a new cook.
First time and it was a excellent experience, I’ll be back
it was our first experience and it was amazing the waitstaff was attentive and friendly, the music was amazing and the food was delicious. Our belly's were happy and definitely returning.
Our stuff mushrooms were cold, salad was very good,Buffett was cold and noodles was dry hardly any sauce, chicken was fair, bread cold and dry,GREEN BEANS WAS THE BEST
We love sugas. Great place for a date night, has a romantic flare, and it’s a double blessing if you catch some live music
Very nice en environment. Rachel was very nice, patient and friendly. Will request her again. Tje was delicious.
Great experience from the staff and excellent food.
Food was good but service was not. My family waited for our Christmas brunch for close to an hour and a half...not acceptable for waffles!!!, and this was not a busy time only a few other tables were occupied. Wanted to have found a "new" place to eat but poor service and a slow kitchen ruined it for me.
I have already written a review after I got home from my meal. Everything was bad about my meal. The food was small overcooked meat, undercooked Baked potato, five skinny asparagus that were cold. That’s not to say that this was my anniversary so it was a special occasion not just a nice meal. Your manager, instead of correcting my bill for the meal, insisted on making me another meal to take home in a doggy bag and reheat. I’ve never heard of anything like that before in my life, and I tried to talk him out of it several times. Margaret RAO
Suga’s, is a very elegant and classy restaurant for every occasion.
Great food and enjoyable jazz.
The sampler appetizer, is a great tasty, cajun flavor choice. As is ALL the selections from lunch to main and brunch.
Very disappointing experience. Hour & half drive. Reservations 7 days in advance for party of 4 on a Sunday for brunch at 11:30. Not crowded at all. Large private party on patio. 30 min just get our drinks. Coffees were cold. My daughter ordered banana crepes. Waitress came back & said after large party orders, they were out of bananas. We expressed our dissatisfaction in our experience at that point. She came back & said she was going to store. Long story short, an hour & half just to get our food. Never saw a manager. I asked to speak with her after I received my check for $57 that was discounted by only 20%. She ended up discounting the meal 75% plus a $50 gift card that was written on a business card. Food was good and our waitress did her best. I’m not sure how you run out of food & why you’re under staffed. Restaurant was highly recommended. It seemed poorly managed & unorganized.
Fine dining experience. Food is great and the atmosphere is spectacular. Had a birthday dinner and for a small additional fee they will add table linens, candles, rose petals and dessert with candles for any special occassion. Definitely one of my favorites spots!
Our brunch experience was wonderful. We had the salmon/trout appetizer and enjoyed the catfish/eggs and shrimp & grits platters. We were very pleased with the quality, plating and flavors. The jazz performance was very nice, at an excellent noise level where we were able to enjoy the entertainment and still have a conversation between us. The performer asked us a couple times to make sure the sound was not too high. We appreciate that! It never was too high or too low. Ambience was great and we were pleasantly surprised with the menu pricing. It was very reasonable to other restaurants we have visited that actually were not as good as what we’ve experienced at Suga’s. Thanks for providing a nice alternative for fine dining in Beaumont.
My husband and I had an excellent dinner here for our 4th. Wedding Anniversary. It was very special and romantic. Thank you for making our night so incredible for us.
This is one of the best kept secrets in Beaumont! Hands down, Awesomeness——
That was our 34 th Wedding Anniversary!
The house salads were not very tasty and served in the very small container.
The main dishes for my wife and daughter were acceptable but nothing special.
On the other hand my dish was terrible “rack of lamb” all fat and bone with no meat. (It was not like that before).
Great food, atmosphere and service. Felt like we were the only couple in the place.
Waiter was very attentive to our needs. The table was very nice. My expectations with my reservations was exactly what I asked for.
Enjoyable ambience for any time of evening
Staff very cordial and inviting
Looking forward returning for brunch
We had a reservation and was seated promptly upon arrival. The air conditioning was broken and it was super hot! The food, music and service we're great overall.
Service was professional, friendly, and courteous. With a group of 6, there was attention to each one’s requests and needs. The food was delicious, and the presentation was perfection. We would highly recommend Sugas for a special evening.
It was our 1st anniversary. Had great food and great service. We loved the upgrade with the special table.
Great ambiance with superb service. Definitely will recommend this place to everyone. Terrific dining experience from beginning to end.
Always good food and great atmosphere. Will be back again
Had a great time visiting with my friend, the staff was not intrusive at all. They even allowed us to stay and continue our visit, long after they were officially closed for the day! Great place, will be back soon!
Always had a outstanding experience in past visits the last, less so
Food simply did not measure up. One of are party of four was plessed.
Live jazz music was playing the night we went. The food was good, but in my opinion overpriced for the quality. The service was mediocre, but the atmosphere and ambiance were delightful.
Food & service were excellent . Ambiance was different with a Jazz theme . Tables were a good size & outside seating was wonderful.
Honestly the food was very babe and disappointing. The staff and facility we fantastic but the food was horrible besides the steak!
Suga's has always been a favorite spot of mine. If the ambiance was a little noisy it was probably my tables fault this time. We had a blast singing along with the incredible pianist Kay Miller. We had four people at our table and two of us had incredible food served while the others were just ok. Overall it was a great night.
We had a reservation for Mother’s Day Brunch at 2:30. At first the service was good until about 3:15 when we were asked if we were finished at the Buffet. We said “no” that we would like dessert. Suddenly they began tearing down the buffet including the dessert table. We’d only been there 45 minutes and suddenly we began to feel hurried. The wait staff began rushing around and our server did the same. When asked about desert, she said she wasn’t sure we could have desert. She returned and said she could get it for us to go. We said we’d like to eat it there and could she bring us a sample of several. I was very disappointed with her and the staff. I would expect more from an upscale restaurant, which typically should be a leisurely experience and relaxing experience.
A couple of items on the buffet were good but most was bland. Overall $55 per adult was too much to pay for that quality. Not what I have had at Suga's before. Disappointed.
We love going to Suga’s and have never had a bad experience. Live music nights are the best, just an enjoyable time to sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and food.
Wonderful From BatonRouge on our 24 year anniversary Jazz was really nice Benoit even played a song for us my wife absolutely loved it food was very very good
Overpriced for the relatively small buffet offered for Easter brunch. Oddly, getting one cup of coffee at the end of brunch cost another $4. Should have been part of $47 meal.
Place was fairly empty.
After living in Beaumont for 8 years, we finally made a trip to Suga's. It was Easter Sunday @ 10:45 a.m.
Ambiance good, staff friendly and accommodating, as best they could be.
Food on the Easter Brunch, had nothing of a "brunch" nature, no breakfast items of Any kind, buffet was in containers over sterno, not one thing I ate was at temperature. Food borne illness is always a concern of mine. At 10:45 on a Sunday, food should be to temp. Bar service, some items were only available "downstairs" couldn't even get celery in my Bloody Mary.
No where, anywhere, did the price of the buffet get posted, no one knew what they were paying for anything. At the end, the buffet was $45. a person, cold food, potato salad, chicken tenders, cookies for dessert........really? Table for 6 with tip was over $400. that would have been ok if the food had been warm, or cold in the case of the potato salad and deviled eggs. What we ate was edible, just cold (or warm) It was a picnic menu at a "upscale" restaurant.
They had one chance to earn our business, we like to travel to Vic & Anthony's, Salt Grass and The Grill, we don't mind paying but come on.....can't see going back to this one.
I will definitely be coming back! Very good environment and amazing service, very kind.
It’s a great halfway point between laugh yet Louisiana in Houston Texas to meet a customer. This is a great place for a business lunch and she can speak in your normal voice to be heard and the booths are nice and roomy for a meeting.
The food is beautiful but not very tasty.. could use more flavor on the chicken and shrimp
