My wife and I had dinner on the 4th of July at the Sugar Cane Maui and were seated at a prime table overlooking the ocean. We started with the roast Brussel sprouts then I had the crab crusted chicken and my wife had the macademia crusted mahi mahi. We then shared a creme brûlée. It was one of the best meals we had on Maui and our waitress Cheryl was fantastic. We had a great view of Front Street and the fireworks display. I'll be back if I'm ever in Maui again.

Great food. Great service. All 5 of of us loved our choices. From the shrimp risotto to the duo to the burger, there were satisfied diners around the table. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

We had a reservation for 7:15 on a Wednesday but didn't need it. Just a few others in the restaurant. Server was extremely attentive, gracious, and helpful. Food was outstanding. Everything was fresh and vibrant and tasted absolutely amazing. This is a very competitive location for restaurants and Sugar Cane Maui lived up to the competition and blew them away. This is no chain restaurant or gimmicky tourist trap. This is a legitimate food lover's destination. Already recommended to friends and family.

The food was amazing! The pork chop and the ahi tuna were fantastic!! The only thing that could have ruined our experience was the service. It took about 15 minutes for our server to come greet us after we were seated, and my water glass was basically empty the entire meal, which was really annoying because that was the only drink I ordered. So by the end of the meal, I was so thirsty. Other than that, the experience was great. The view is so beautiful. We sat out on the lanai and saw the sunset, very romantic. In conclusion, go to Sugar Cane Maui for fantastic food and a beautiful view, but bring your patience for the service. The food is so amazing, it makes up for the terrible service, though!!!

The menu is really creative with wonderful flavor combinations. Our service was great--our server was friendly but not overly so and the pace was just right...not slow but not hurried. Fantastic view on the porch!

We decided to try Sugar cane as it was new and we come to Maui every year. The food was fantastic , especially the Nacho's ( superb). The fondue was a great appetizer for sharing. Risotto received an A plus as well as the ahi tuna. We will be back.

Good was very nice. Agree with the other reviews: burnt brussel sprouts and king pao calamari are fantastic! Lobster risotto was outstanding. We had our three kiddos with us and they lived the food too. Service was attentive and helpful. We would definitely go again.

Nice views but aside from Cheryl, service was terrible. Pans cotta was terrible. Met Chef Chin who was bar tending! Not in the kitchen. He was not warm but cursory. Staff were novices.-139

Our service was outstanding. We were rushing to the airport and wanted one last romantic dinner to savour the sweet Maui food. Our waitress did everything possible to ensure that we caught our flight. She understood that we did not want hors d'oeuvres or dessert because we didn't need a huge meal. We were seated on the balcony overlooking the ocean and my husband's fish was the best he had since we arrived. The wine list was also good.
