Situated in a converted factory which housed a remarkable aircraft manufacturing company Sugar & Olives is a chic and modern restaurant. Sugar & Olives seeks to educate its diners and cultivate the relationship between farms and families. The kitchen is devoted to supporting and sourcing locally grown food and products and serving that food to a loyal following. This three star Certified Green Restaurant offers cooking classes as well. The space is also a charming party venue and community spot.

Wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The menu is quirky and WAY overly-prices for what they're offering. It's farm to table. Wanted something different from the usual bacon, eggs and French toast, but unfortunately, this wasn't it. Went for Sunday brunch and the "pancake" I ordered was about 2 inches thick, dry and completely tasteless. My companion got the English breakfast, very nondescript. I enjoy new experiences and don't mind paying for it but here I felt ripped-off in every way.
The cocktails we had, a bloody Mary and a mimosa were very good.
Will never return.

Our meals were excellent. A small menu with a lot of variety. We ordered most of the dishes from the menu for the table and enjoyed all of them!

Only complaint here was the waiter who handed me a piping hot plate. Didn't set it down or warn me, just handed it to me. Really? When she realized her error she didn't know what to say, so she said nothing and walked away.

The menu, decor and ambiance were all well thought out. Food quality is excellent and the offerings are expansive yet manageable, unique yet comfortable. It is a gem off the beaten path that easily falls in the top tier for dining in Fairfield County.

This unique restaurant is not out-of-the-way, but I often forget it’s there. The food is always interesting and well prepared. The lamb burger was excellent and there are also vegan options. Service is friendly and relaxed. Not a place to go to if you are in a rush.

Surprised by this little tucked-away gem! Can't believe I'd never been before. The beet and goat cheese salad was the best I've ever had. Tangerine mimosa was phenomenal. We also got the omelet with bacon jam - which was perfect. The English breakfast dish was spot on. Really, not anything I would've changed. We'll definitely be back.

After several visits the standards of this farm to table establishment remain high. Meals are individually prepared in an open kitchen using only fresh, local ingredients. No mass production here and no gimmicks. Just high quality simple ingredients and a masterful touch to turn them into unique, delicious gastronomic creations. Owners and staff make you feel welcome and at home. Menu is somewhat limited but this is a good thing because it ensures fresh, high quality ingredients. Don't be afraid to step out and try something you might ordinarily pass up. Chances are you'll be pleasantly surprised by this outstanding chef.

Our dinner was a mixed bag. The cocktails were good, the wine was fine, and the dessert was excellent (don't miss the sticky toffee pudding if you go - it's phenomenal). The menu is seasonal and so you're taking a chance. We went on a slow night and they had very few options to choose from. The salmon was crispy, with a tasty root vegetable side. But everything else was quiet bland, including the spinach risotto that the server strongly recommended. The brussel sprouts were supposed to be a specialty and they were overcooked.

While we were there we were the only table seated in the restaurant (but it was just before a holiday weekend, so that might explain the emptiness a bi). Even so, they got our order wrong and we had to ask what happened to it. The owner's daughter and friends were also there for a bit for a snack, and even though they were quiet and polite it's a little weird that they sat at the table right next to us in an otherwise empty restaurant. And it was a little off-putting to have the owner come over and tell us we were the only reservation for the night so they "stayed open for us, but would be closed the rest of the weekend". What is that supposed to accomplish? Make us feel guilty? Are we supposed to thank you for staying open for us?

My friends and I ate at Sugar & Olives for brunch. We enjoyed their chocolate banana bread! I ordered the English Breakfast. Everything was delicious!

Never disappointed with the excellent food and friendly service. Wine offerings a little underwhelming, and the pricing of the main courses I'd describe as "inconsistent" (some items of great value, others outrageously overpriced) - still, this is a gem of a place. Totally unique, and highly recommended.

I’m sorry to say we were not impressed and won’t return. Came for brunch on Sunday. We waited an hour for our food. It was ok, nothing was great. The menu sounds interesting, but doesn’t deliver.

I've been here a few times and have enjoyed myself each time. The menu is different, so its fun to experiment. The coffee is good and the breakfast is great with the pancake and chocolate french toast. I've also had the chickpea curry bowl for lunch. It's more of a veggie heavy soup. Very filling!! I will be back :)

The food is hand crafted. The owner and maitre de are friendly. We had a vegan at the table who was happy. I ordered snapper which was divine. Others had scallops. We split a delicious chocolate confection for dessert.
Loved every bit of it.

Amazing experience all around!!! Open and welcoming kitchen! Personable wait staff and the chef/owner was so nice and welcomed each guest as well as came over to each table with homemade cookies, out of the oven!!!

We have been here a few times over the past months and have never been disappointed. Jen is a fantastic chef - creative and delicious. Chris is a great bartender and very friendly. A real gem in Norwalk - go!

We went on a Thursday evening and there was literally no-one there do it was very quiet and sort of awkward. About halfway through our meal, another couple showed up so that made it feel a little better.

The restaurant is cute, the food was delicious and healthy (esp if you follow a paleo/ GF diet) and the chef even brought us a little seasonal salad as a treat.

The waiter was nice but there were some things that didn’t impress me (like asking my friend what she would like to drink, but not me, then when asking if I could have an iced tea, saying that’s not something they make in the winter; being at the bar right very close by to us when the restaurant was literally empty; some socially awkward moments)

This is my second time there and both times, the food was great but service left a lot to be desired.

We had a 1:45 brunch reservation but it was obvious from the onset that we were the last to be seated...”only enough mix for one Bloody Mary left!”, “no more hamburgers”, “no dessert left”.
The waiter was very busy closing up the restaurant vs insuring we were having a pleasant and satisfying experience. He was checking in with us but it felt perfunctory.
I would rather have been told there is no seating past x time vs being rushed out.
I am certain the owner has worked very hard to build a name for herself so to have this type of customer service does a complete disservice to her.
The food is terrific and my previous experiences were very positive. Would not recommend for Sunday brunch.

We love this place and have been several times. Unique industrial setting and ambience, and food is very creative and tasty. Open kitchen allows for viewing food prep. Most recent visit, though, had spotty service (and wasn't that busy on our arrival). Location is off Westport Avenue near Pepperidge Farm. Well worth a visit.

Pleasantly surprised to find this gem in Norwalk. Good, honest, local food simply yet very creatively prepared and served. Quite a short menu but such interesting choices it was still hard to narrow down and could satisfy a broad spectrum of tastes and circumstances. Only solution will be to return often. Completely open kitchen literally and figuratively removes the wall between the chef and cooks and their diners. Waiter/GM/Bartender, Chef and Cook all shared running and bussing responsibilities creating a friendly,homey atmosphere. Decor matches the cooking as it is both simple, unique and creative.

Disappointing. We had a reservation but it seemed like they were not ready to start cooking until a while after we got there. And there were things on the daily menu that they did not have available. It took a long time for our food to come out. The server was nice but very inexperienced. Another server (a man) was better but the chef was very disheveled (looked like she may have had a cold) and not too pleasant and although spoke to us did not welcome us. I believe she is also the owner so that was disappointing. The food was fine but nothing spectacular. Unfortunately we won't be going back for a while. I am rooting for them, however, and hoping this was just a bad day for them.

Simple, casual and tasteful decor. Food is seasonal and very tasty. Limited menu, with just a few specials. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert is to die for.

A great find off the beaten path. Restaurant sources local farm items, so you know the food is fresh. Food is creative, tasty and clean. Their alcohol list is limited, and the drink sizes are small, but the star of the show is the food. I wish they had some menu options for children on the menu, maybe you need to ask.

Great find in a unique space. Very gracious and attentive staff/owners (?) that take pride in their work. The menu is quite unique and we enjoyed both the flavors and presentation. We'll definitely be back and hope others find this hidden gem, too.

The highlight? The flavoring and quality of the food and the friendly service! Room for improvement? The menu is very limiting in terms of choices. This is understandable due to the set up of the restaurant but if the menu were more encompassing we would surely dine here regularly. If you have 5 entrees you can't have two of them being a variation of a burger (beef and lamb).
