   Tucked down a cobblestone alley in downtown Portland, Street and Co. delivers one of the most memorable seafood dining experiences I’ve ever had. The ambiance is cozy and romantic, with candlelight dancing off warm copper countertops—it feels like a Mediterranean escape hidden in the heart of Maine. We started with the mussels, which were absolutely divine. Served in a garlicky white wine broth, they were plump, fresh, and full of flavor. The broth was so good we asked for extra bread just to soak up every last drop. Next came the grilled octopus, and wow—tender, smoky, and perfectly charred, it had just the right balance of citrus and earthiness. It was refined yet rustic, and left us speechless. But the highlight of the night was the lobster over linguine. Generous chunks of sweet Maine lobster were nestled in silky ribbons of pasta, tossed in a butter and white wine sauce that was rich but never heavy. Every bite was luxurious, balanced, and beautifully executed. Street and Co. doesn’t just serve seafood—it celebrates it. If you’re anywhere near Portland, this is the place to go. Unforgettable from start to finish.

   As soon as you walk in the ambiance feels inviting and not overbearing for a popular restaurant in a central location. The service is attentive and genuine in wanting to create a well-rounded experience for the guests. I felt guided through the menu and confident in choosing the best items for my group and I. As for the food, spectacular. They’ve perfect the classics, simple goes a long way when you know how to create the perfect flavor profiles. Definitely end with something sweet as it helps balance out the palate before heading back into the real world. 10/10 will be back.

   I ordered the tuna tartare for an appetizer, which was completely outstanding -absolutely delicious as were the mussels

   As usual Street and Co. provided an excellent dining experience all around. From the creative and delicious food, to the attentive and knowledgeable service, to the special touch of a personalized card congratulating us on our anniversary, it was all top notch. My favorite restaurant in Portland! The only thing I was missing was the tablecloths, they add such a nice touch and do help soften the noise. My only suggestion.

   The staff was very accommodating and courteous. They knew it was our wedding anniversary so when we arrived there was a cute note on our table wishing us happy anniversary.

   This was our first trip to Portland and hopefully not the last! Street and Company is such a wonderful sensory experience. We walked in from the busy cobblestone street to a warm and cozy bar area. We were seated right away, and in my opinion, at one of the best tables in the house overlooking the kitchen. The kitchen is small, but bustling with activity and it was fascinating to watch. Our waiter suggested a great wine and answered all of our questions. The butter lettuce salad with peas and dressed with green goddess dressing was simply sublime. My husband had the grilled lobster over linguine-fantastic! I had the sole with haricots very and brown butter potatoes. I couldn't believe how big the piece of fish was-very generous. The dish was delicious, but the brown butter was a little much. We shared the Chocolate Bete Noir with a scoop of house made ice cream. Unbelievably good! We really enjoyed our night at Street and Co. It seemed like everyone loved working there and each person we encountered was very professional. Highly recommend!

    Never a disappointment. From the oyster shucker to the chef, great people committed to excellence in service, food and experience. Highly recommend. We never travel to Portland without stopping at least once.
