Street and Co. has a fantastic atmosphere and food is always excellent. Have never had a bad meal here.
The food was all so very good. Mussels in Garlic wine broth out of this world. Will be back for sure.
Lobster pasta with butter and garlic was divine! Every single dish we had was delicious, arugula salad, squid appetizer , tomato bisque.
NY’ers traveling and Street & Co was highly recommended. We loved it!! Terrific food, knowledgeable and courteous staff and a well done interior.
We plan to dine here again on our return trip.
Our dinner reservation was for 8:30. We were seated at 8:35. The wait staff was exceptionally attentive. Our apps and main course were excellent, especially the Seafood Diavolo.
One of two very fine Portland restaurants; the other being Scales. At Street & Co., the mussels appetizer is a tasty meal by itself and the grilled octopus is wonderful. Entrees were scallops in a pernod sauce and sole francaise. Both were perfectly cooked and delicious. No dessert. The wine supplied enough extra calories for the day. Overall, a great experience.
We've been going to S&C for over 10 years. Always good food, if noisy and crawed together.
Amazing food!! Lobster over linguine was perfection!!!
The food was delicious!! Will definitely go here again. Loved the atmosphere. You need a reservation to be sure of seating.
We have been coming here since 1993 and they NEVER disappoint, so naturally we dined here for our 24th anniversary! Grilled octopus is amazing and the scallops in pernod is consistently wonderful, see you soon!
The best… every aspect outstanding.
Great food and service. Much quieter and more spacious than I remembered.
Such a wonderful time at Street & Co.! The cocktails were amazing. Staff and patrons alike were enjoyable to interact with as we waited for our table, and enjoyed our meal. The food is top notch. Wish I had an extra stomach to enjoy more of the amazing options on their menu!
Arugula salad was light and fresh. The grilled octopus with butter bean purée was phenomenal. Rich, but not heavy. The lobster over linguini and the tomato saffron stew were decadent. There was no chance of leftovers.
Their new cocktail with raspberry and mezcal doesn’t sound like it would make sense, but the combo made me want to try and replicate it at home. 10/10!
Exceptional food, ambience and service.
Made 830 reservations, got seated at 915, 945 finally saw a waiter. Also made second reservation for friends who waited an hour after the reservation and once seated, was never waited on then left. Food was ok, but not spectacular like we expected. Waiter said less than 10 words to us. Would not go back.
We had 8:30 reservations We were seated at 9:20but no one was there to take our order. We left after 20 minutes. Very disappointed-we shared appetizer with friends while waiting in front area!
The restaurant has a certain vibe and décor in addition to excellent food and service. Being in a basement and having an open kitchen leads to a interesting experience. Everything about this restaurant leads to a memorable eating experience.
I started with mussels in a white wine and garlic broth with killer local rustica bread-outstanding! The main course was local swordfish perfectly prepared as was my wife's local halibut along with wilted greens and bulgar wheat pilaf. Desert was a very tasty apple crostada with vanilla ice cream. Our server was very knowledgeable and very helpful with varied wine list. Our table had a great view of the kitchen.
Always, always delicious! Great ambiance and fantastic service. A must go to while in Portland.
Excellent food, best mussels ever tasted! A bit noisy, menu on grilled lobster over linguine should mention it’s a whole lobster as it’s a bit messy to eat.
Food and cocktails were unique and delicious. Staff was knowledgeable but get dinged for bringing salads and appetizers all at once, which worried us that dinner was going to be right on top of that before we were ready. We asked them to slow it down. Later they asked us if we wanted more bread and we did, but then they proceeded to bring it to another table instead. We didn’t see them again until we were leaving. Truly a good vibe and food, cocktails good, just needs to be sensitive to pace of food delivery and pay attention a bit more to which customer they are serving.
Outstanding food. Fresh, clean. Perfection.
Chaos, lack of labor role responsibilities
Seating not comfortable
Receptionists could be more hospitable
Seating too close for Covid spacing
Bar tender rough edges
We have eaten here every time we are in Portland which is about 3 times per year. Portland is one of our get seats from Ma. The food is always fantastic but this time the sole francaise (our favorite) was overbooked and swimming in oil??? Must be a second rate chef in training!
We have been going to Street & Co since 1992 and really love it! Last night we waited 20 minutes after being seated before our waiter acknowledged us, another 10 to take our drink order and 10 more before we ordered. The food took nearly an hour to arrive! I am so thankful it wasn't our 1st time in or we would not be back. I do not blame the waiter except that he did not hold the kitchen accountable. I had to go back to the parking lot to pay for more time while waiting for the food. $190 for dinner & $24 for parking!
The food was fantastic - one of the best seafood meals we've ever had. Service was superb as well. Very interesting place but noisier than I would have liked. That may have been due to where we were seated
We have dined here in the past and had great experiences. This time it took 1.5 hours for the food to arrive and the sole Francais, which is usually terrific, was soggy and had a boatload of butter in the pan. Our server was attentive and did a great job so it must be a kitchen staffing or organization issue.
Always good. Have been going for years
Excellent food and service! Make your reservations Dar in advance!
Our server was very helpful selecting a vine for our meal. The meal itself was fantastic, something I have thought back to multiple times since. The hostess was professional in dealing with a difficult customer in front of us who's reservation had been "lost". This meal here was one of the highlights of our honeymoon.
The food and service were excellent. The only slight dislike was the lack of California wine on the wine list. Our server did have any experience with French Burgundys but we reasoned our way through. A tad bit pricey but still a very good meal
Terrible kitchen timing. We waited an hour and 10 minutes for our entrees. Food was OK, but not special. Salads were great, but my entree was stupid. We would not recommend.
Lobster was under cooked and when i requested to return it, the server checked with the kitchen who said it was cooked. I requested the lobster be cooked properly, it took a long time for them to bring back my dish. There was way too much garlic in the lobster over linguine.
Great food, great service, great drinks. Always a treat!
Overcooked Grilled lobster on tasteless linguine and whole Branzino grilled in some kind of broth was just not vey good. For the money or less not a good experience.
Street came highly recommended so I was glad to get a reservation. Lobster Diablo for 2 was one of the best meals I ever had! Outside seating was cool as it allowed us to "people watch" and take in the Portland nightlife scene (if you're into that). Service was attentive and on time.
The cocktails were well made and delicious and the service was amazing! My wife and I were slightly disappointed with the food but it wasn’t bad.
Great place overall. The mussels appetizer what phenomenal. Everything turned out to be delicious. Highly recommend this for a special occasion dining
I would give this restaurant an 11! It is excellent. From the friendly and knowledgeable staff, to the utterly delicious food, to the jovial and interactive cooks in the open kitchen. A treat all around!
All I can say is Amazing place.
