Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill - West End Ratings and Reviews
I have eaten at Stony River for several years now. The food and service are consistently very good. The coffee cured filet is my favorite steak and the sweet potato casserole and the wedge salad provide a most enjoyable meal. The servers are always very attentive but never interruptive of conversation. Never been disappointed.
Had a lovely brunch at Stoney River last Sunday. We both had Eggs Benedict and Mimosas. Delicious! The service was just right - attentive without being intrusive. Light jazz was playing in the background, but quiet enough that we could have a comfortable conversation. We'll be back!
My steak was burnt on the outside. Did not send it back because did not want to wait another 20 min. When I reserved table on line I asked for a table in a nice spot. They sat us next to a large 2 table noisy party. Took forever for first contact with waitress. Didn’t bring us one of the drinks we ordered. All this for the low low price of $100! Dissappointed!
We enjoyed the food so much. The coffee marinated steak was cooked to perfection and tasted so good. The baked potato and salad was excellent too. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and received a piece of delicious chocolate cake. Very good place to go for a nice celebration!
The food was amazing. However, I was very disappointed with our service. The biggest hit came at the end of the dinner when the server handed us boxes for us to pack our our own food. It was a slow Monday night. It wasn’t like he had a million things to do. Even though we pad $50 a person, we left feeling like the service was comparable to going to an Olive Garden.
We’ve been coming to this fabulous restaurant since it opened. It’s our favorite. My 50th surprise birthday party was held here and I’m now 59. It’s perfect in every way. The food is delicious. The steaks are the best we’ve ever had. The staff is first class. Try it. You will love it too.
This was a gem of a find. The cocktails were unique and tasty and our meals were delicious from appetizers to desserts.
The crab cake was one of the best I've ever had and the steaks melted in your mouth.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Nashville.
Lady and I had date night here last night and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Sam was our server and he was on top of everything without being overbearing. Our appetizer took a bit longer than it should have, we never said a word but all of a sudden Mariah(manager, hopefully that's spelled right!), came over, apologized for the wait on the app and told us she was taking it off the check. Completely unnecessary on their part, but definitely appreciated. All in all a great experience and we will definitely be back!
Based on other reviews, I had high hopes but was very disappointed. Salads were excellent, as was baked potato and asparagus. But steaks had way too much seasoning. I think the meat was a good quality, but its flavor was totally overwhelmed by the seasoning and seasoned butter. I would say to skip that, but my mother asked for no seasonings and got them anyhow. The manager was apologetic and comped her steak, but I would rather pay to have things right. Another downside was the service. Server was friendly but totally inattentive. Dressing everyone in black doesn’t compensate for bad. Wine took forever, and I didn’t get a second glass till well after dinner arrived. Also, no one came back to see how our steaks were cooked until it was way too late to fix the problem with my mother’s. Check took forever. I hate being rushed, but at a restaurant that advertises itself like this one does, I would expect some level if attention. Nice atmosphere (but there were TVs in dining area, which could be good or bad depending on perspective), excellent salads, and reasonable prices. But I will not return.
I ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out well done. By the time the waitress finally came back around, I was full from everything else and didn’t send it back. I also ordered a coffee after dinner that never came to the table. Otherwise, the ambiance, drinks and appitizers were very good.
