I had Thanksgiving dinner at Stonehill Tavern. The evening started well. My server was very friendly and recommended a great cocktail to start the night. Since it was a holiday, there was a fixed menu. I informed the restaurant in advance that I am a pescatarian. I chose the caviar starter and mushroom risotto for the first two courses, which was followed by a traditional Thanksgiving main entree and desserts. I also ordered the wine pairing.
The wine pairing for the first course came early and the plate arrived soon after I received my cocktail, but since it was a cold dish, I didn’t mind. The caviar starter was very good, though the person who poured the wine didn’t provide any explanation other than what was on the label. Once I finished the first course, I waiting around 20 minutes for the risotto, which arrived less than lukewarm. I also waited another 10 minutes for my second wine, which the sommelier poured. There was no sign of my original server. I told the sommelier that my dish was cold and asked her if I could also get some bread. She brought back my second course after a few minutes, piping hot, and graciously comped my wine pairing.
I finally got bread and finished my risotto, which was better than a neighborhood Italian restaurant, but disappointing for a Mina restaurant. For the main course, I got salmon instead of turkey and ordered only two of the sides that would normally be shared for larger tables. When the dish came out, it contained spoonfuls of all the sides and a tiny piece of dry salmon. The brussel sprouts and kale (the two I had ordered) were tasty, but the rest were average at best. My server reappeared just before the main course was delivered, but only to change my wine glass. Dessert came on a cart , so I picked the pecan and apple pies, which were good. My server brought the check.
I heard another server say that Stonehill was closing soon to be re-opened as Bourbon Steak. Maybe that explains the disappointing experience.

The experience was exceptional. The view of sunset was awesome while we were welcomed like royalty. The only downside of our experience was that some of the patrons seemed to be there more to see and be seen rather than to enjoy the meal.

My wife and I cane here for a much needed date night. The ambiance was relaxing and romantic. The food was amazing! Everything is expensive here but well worth the price! My wife had the filet and I had the NY strip. Both were incredible. We definitely will come back and highly suggest trying this place for a special occasion or just a romantic date night.

One of the best dinners, service and food we have had in years! Lyle was our waiter and I would ask to be seated at his table! He was excited and knowledgeable about every part of the menu. We were always made to feel welcomed and special from the glass of Champagne, to the taster soup from the chef, and the two wrapped coffee cakes for our morning coffee to reminisce fondly about our amazing dinner the night before. It worked we loved our start to the morning! The two tiny cones with a taste of ice cream was the final amazing touch!!
We can’t express enough how amazing each plate of food from the chef tasted! We even have to give credit to the bartender for both the mixed alcohol and mixed non-alcohol drinks.
Can’t wait for another special occasion and excuse to revisit our fantastic experience!!!!
