Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station
A very large place but both the inside and outside areas were cute and cozy. The food and beer was excellent. There's even heaters they will drag to your table if you get cold in the evenings. Our server Jeff was happy and fun...a pleasure all evening.
Had a perfect Sunday afternoon on the patio. Beautiful location, good food and exceptional beer. Service was amazing.
Hi Steve and thanks so much for taking the time to post! Cheers! Scott
Great venue, vibe and food!
Great place! Excellent food and service. Lived the Oktoberfest beer!
Good-great beer. Food was average-above average. Food price likely high due to lease as it is a huge facility.
Thanks for posting your review FredH! Scott
I stopped going to Stone for meals when their menu was "all over the map" with duck tacos, weird salads, Indian dishes and other strange offerings. But now they've gained some focus, and have two burgers (hooray) and even a steak. We went for restaurant week, so the offerings were somewhat limited, but the food quality was good and both burgers were quite delicious. I'm glad to see they have catered to the palate of many of the people who actually eat there.
Good morning SeanC and thanks for 4 stars. We're happy to hear you enjoyed! Scott
Loved stone! First time here with 3 adults and 3 kids. Variety of food, all of it was amazing! A stand out was the sticky ribs and the sausage rigatoni!!! Getting a refill takes a little longer than most restaurants but feel that’s more of a thing in San Diego in general. A lot of a guests and staff working really hard to keep lots of larger groups happy! All in all, probably in my top 5 restaurants in the San Diego area and we can’t wait to come again!!!
Good morning JcKc, we appreciate your comments, thanks for 4 stars and we'll look forward to serving you again soon. Cheers! Scott
Lovely. Will return to Stone on our nect trip to SD.
Cheers and thanks! Scott
Good beer, nice atmosphere, but service wasn’t great and they got both our orders wrong and couldn’t find anyone to talk to. Ended up taking what we didn't want off and just dealing with it. Restaurant was pretty empty, ate a little before 5 on a Friday.
Hi DavidA and thanks for letting us know about you recent experience. I'm sorry that we got both your orders wrong, dangit. It also sounds like our staff failed to alert a manager which isn't good either. Our apologies. We usually get it right. Please ask for me upon your return and I'll make sure you have an amazing experience. Sincerely, Scott
Birthday Dinner...Great experience all the way around !
All the staff we met were delightful and helpful. Beers, of course, are great. Wide range of food available...attractive and tastes good too. Very attentive wait staff, but not overdone. We thought it was funny to be in the flight path from San Diego airport, but some folks kept putting their fingers in their ears each time a plane came over. Nice gift store too.
Good afternoon bananabelt, (great name :)), and than you for visiting and posting your review. We hope to see you again soon. Cheers! Scott
Our waitress was outstanding. We were there for an early dinner. Food and drinks were very good except a little pricey. The planes flying overhead were noisy but just added to the experience!!!
Hi LoisM and thanks for taking the time to post your review, we appreciate it. Cheers! Scott
Indoors and out in its garden this restaurant is so uniquely beautiful and energetic at night, I'd probably rate it five stars even if I'd only had a coffee here. Food menu was varied and flavorful, good portions, reasonable prices, and very attentive and friendly service, from arrival on through the meal.
Good afternoon KeithL and thanks for posting your review, we appreciate it! Scott
We enjoyed a lovely evening here. The gardens are lovely. The food was great! The beer was also very good. Our server was very familiar with all the offerings and helped steer us to menu items we would like. We enjoyed the singer in the garden. This place has a very comfortable feeling...there are families with small children to older adults, enjoying good food, drink and entertainment!
HBGal, thanks for taking the time to post your review. We really appreciate your feedback and thanks for 5 Stars!! Scott
Love Stone Brewery Liberty Station. Great outdoor atmosphere. Staff is awesome. Might be time to expand the dinner menu a bit, and reign in the kids running around, but that won’t deter us from returning next time we are in town.
Dining outside at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens thoroughly exceeded my expectations. It is simply the best brewery dining experience I've ever had. Fantastic.
Thank you Keztag, we're so happy to hear you had a great time. Cheers! Scott
We love the gardens. Fun place to take visitors. Would recommend brewing one lite style beer. Possibly an American Ale. Manager was nice and came over to recommend adding water to the beer. That didn’t sound or taste very appetizing. “E” for Effort. We will be back, we still enjoy.
Good morning Foodie and thanks for visiting recently. We'll look forward to serving you again soon. Cheers! Scott
Sat outside by the coy pond. The airplane noise from taking off was horrible. Once or twice in 30 mins would be tolerable, but this was constant. Ugh!
I’ll sit indoors if I return. Otherwise, all else was fine.
Great atmosphere and wonderful healthy and delectable food choices.
The fish in the tacos was way too dry. Otherwise, everything was very good.
Beautiful outdoor area, all of the food was delicious, tasters / flights of beer were quite large and knowledgeable servers!
This was my 4th time at stone, it’s my favorite place
I am having mixed emotions about posting this review, but I will be transparent. My husband and I had been to Stone once before. Stone came highly recommended by my friends in Yuma, AZ. We sat at the bar and had an excellent experience, which is why we returned. My husband and I chose your restaurant to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. We could have gone anywhere but we chose Stone because of the great experience the first time around. Sadly, this experience was a huge disappointment. Our waitress Jamie was not attentive. She was gone for long periods of time and when she came around, it was meaningless. There was only 2 of us yet the table next to us with a party of 9 received better attention by their waitress. The food and ambiance was wonderful, but I left so upset. We wanted this night to be extra special as 22 years of marriage doesn’t come easily. Maybe she was having a bad night but whatever the reason behind her inattentiveness, this doesn’t justify her poor service. I tipped her well because “2 wrongs don’t make a right”. At this time, I am still disappointed and would not recommend others to Stone. Maybe as my disappointment dissipates, I may reconsider.
Fantastic food, incredible beer. What more could you want? Oh, and service was spot on as well. Only negative is that you cannot get the same beer you taste in the restaurant to take home in a growler. I love Vengeful Spirit, but have never found it for my growler.
Spent a wonderful afternoon at this location! Definitely sit outside if weather permits. Enjoyed the brewed in-house flight of beers. Food was great!
It was a great cool place. Very knowledgable staff had great recommendations.
This will probably be my last trip to Stone Brewing in Liberty Station. For the past few years I have brought my entire extended family from L.A. to Point Loma for my wife's birthday. I rent rooms for them and treat everyone at Stone Brewing because I am a vegetarian but really like the Impossible Burger at Stone Brewing. As usual before I made the reservation, I checked the menu, because I had heard that there is a shortage of Impossible Burgers so I just wanted to be sure that they still offered it, and the menu said they do so I made the reservation and brought the whole family, all ten of them, down to Point Loma for the traditional birthday week-end. After we were seated and everyone had ordered I placed my order last and told her I wanted the Impossible Burger. She wrote it down and then leaned in and told me IT'S NOT REALLY THE "IMPOSSIBLE" BURGER. IT'S A "BEYOND MEAT" BURGER she said using the air quote marks with her fingers. She told us that Burger King had forced the Impossible Food Company to sign over all the rights to the Impossible Burger to them which forced everyone else to give it up. So they switched to the Beyond Burger. Funny, Red Robin has it. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT, this is deceitful. Now they are substituting with subpar products at the same price. I was lucky the waitress told me. A different person brought it to me and she told me "Here's your Impossible Burger Sir". I asked her if it really is an Impossible Burger she said she didn't think so. I asked her why she and the company doesn't put it on the menu and tell people? She just gave a little shrug a walked away. To top it all off, like rubbing salt in an open wound, they charge the same price for something that is less, less in flavor, less in satisfaction. They know it is less in every way because they a still have menus that state Impossible Burger and some of their staff still give out erroneous information. It's the last time I drop $300+ there.
Hadn’t been in awhile because last few times it was disappointing! They have new food on the menu and it was really good. I had the superfood salad with salmon. My only complaint is that I ordered a glass of red wine and I guess all their wines are now on tap, so they are all cold. Not a fan of cold red wine!
The service was very slow.
So delish! Will go again!
Very nice place to dine and deink great beers! Definitevely my top spot in sd
Thank you ALES and we're so excited to be your top spot in SD. We'll look forward to your return. Cheers! Scott
Great venue for a family celebration! Servers were friendly, professional and quick!
Happy to hear you enjoyed WilliamW! Cheers! Scott
Selection of beers is best thing about place. With planes taking off over our heads every 10 minutes and lots of kids running around and babies crying, it was not a very relaxing meal in the courtyard. Maybe next time we'll eat inside. Food is good-not great.
Hi Robnola and thanks for your post, we appreciate your feedback. Sounds like you might have been in on the weekend. It can get really crazy with planes and kids for sure. Inside is generally more calm to your point. Sorry we missed on the food, dangit, hoping not to disappoint the next time. Scott
Great brewery and beer garden with high quality food. Only downside was the frequency of aircraft flying over during the day while we where there, not fault to stone.
Thanks so much FoodHopper for 4 stars! Yep, them planes can be a thing. As you might imagine, inside seating is much better for experiencing to plane noise. Scott
I have been here a few times now and it never disappoints. The staff and food are always exceptional and the beer is always cold and delicious.
Hi Dustin and good morning to you. Thanks for your post and 5 Stars! Cheers! Scott
The food was excellent and the service was great! Mike was our server, and he did a great job!
Hi MikeC and thank you for 5 Stars and the shout out to Mike! Scott
The food, service and atmosphere were great. We will definitely be back!
Hi Woody and thanks for posting your review and we'll look forward to seeing you again soon! Scott
Sam was HORRIBLE! The majority of the food/drinks we ordered weren’t available due to us sitting outside. I asked Sam to go inside and get me a drink, to which he said “No”. Sorry Sam, I say “No” as well, hence why you got no tip.
Advice to Stone: Get rid of Sam and hire someone that cares!
