Stokes Grill & Bar - West
Good food appropriate for a business lunch.
Great as usual !!
We always find the food very good at Stokes and enjoy eating there. I would suggest however that Stokes invest a little time to come up with a decent house margarita. The one I received tasted like pure sugar water on ice with no taste of alcohol or lime. The thing is, this has been my typical experience at Stokes. Of course the Stokes “Top Shelf” margaritas are much better at $9.25 a pop versus $5.95 for the house version, but I lose respect for bars that serve watery, unsatisfying drinks just to weasel people into spending more. Many people I know choose restaurants as much for the quality of drinks as they do for the food. If you want good Tex-Mex food, go to Stokes, but if you want a good drink to go with it, you might be disappointed.
Nice location, great service, balanced value & price for American food with just a little twist.
Service was great. Food was amazing
The ambience and our meals were terrific. The service was OK; however, we felt almost rushed by our wait-person, who wanted to take our plates away as quickly as possible. She even took away one of my fellow diners’ plates while he was still chewing (and wasn’t quite done with his meal). Bad form.
Four of us dined at Stokes Saturday evening- all first time patrons. We had the empanadas for an appetizer- a little crisp- but still delicious. My husband had the steak with a spicy poblano sauce- he said the steak had great flavor and was very tender. The rest of us had the brisket tacos, with excellent beans and rice. We shared the caramel bananas with vanilla ice cream for dessert. We all were impressed with the large selection of unusual items - all sounded good- hard to decide what to order! If there is one thing that could be improved, it would be the lighting at the tables- a bit hard to read the menu!!!
Monday nights are slow and quiet, perfect for dates! Food is super delicious and so are the margaritas. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a fancy place to eat but don’t want to spend too much money.
We were given gift cards and very much enjoyed our experience. Definitely want to come again and especially to enjoy Happy hour specials.
The food is always great! We tried something new and it was awesome. The service staff are always friendly and accommodating. Our party had someone with a special request and the chef was able to address his need. I appreciated having access to book online. I
Food was good... as always! Asked the person who seated us if we could move one table over, thought it might be easier to hear. It was empty, but was told she wasn't sure, she'd check. She didn't come back. BTW, that table was empty before we got there, while were there and as we walked out the door. It seems like these kind of comments are normal. Oh ya... great service!
We went for their Sunday all-day happy hour. Their spicy cucumber margarita was wonderful. We had the green chili nachos and chicken tortilla soup, both of which were very good. Would recommend for happy hour for sure.
Great time! Always outstanding food, great servers and neat ambiance! Definitely in my top 10!
Very good food and service. Noise level was minimal. Good cocktails as well.
Excellent grilled chicken caesar salad!
Everything was great except the noise level. It was difficult to hear the conversation, and we were in a booth in the corner.
The tilapia was delicious!
Food was good, portions were huge
The food was amazing! Great selection of cuisine and wines! One of my favorite places to go!
Food is consistently good.
Light on the booze in their drinks
Sharon's Enchilada's...say no more. Amazing. I ordered the dinner size, enough for dinner, plus two lunches! So sad when it was officially gone. Cannot wait to head back.
Sharon’s enchiladas were to die for! The queso was delicious as well- will return again!
Birthday dinner. The “New Mexico Shrimp” pasta was terrific. We’ve eaten at Stokes’ many times, but this was the first time I’ve selected this option. I highly recommend it.
I reserved for 13 people for a birthday celebration. I thought I would see a candle on the desert that we ordered. I mentioned it on the on line reservation and to the server. Next time I guess I will bring my own candle.
Loved our food choices! Had a great server who let us sit and visit awhile!
Everything was delicious as always!
We found this restaurant by looking at reviews on Open Table. Almost all comments were very positive, and they turned out to be spot on.
The menu has a great variety. I definitely would like to go back to try a variety of the items. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and his service was great.
I recommend this restaurant for locals or travelers alike.
One of our favorite restaurants in Omaha. Their "signature" dish Chicken Enchiladas is just outstanding!! Love the West location as well! The waitress was a hoot. Didn't catch her name but she was a big Vikings Fan. They were out of cheese for a cheese platter we ordered. The manager came over and personally apologized for their over site.
I cannot say enough about this place!!!
Stokes is just the right combination of casual and quality for a very reasonable price.
Not my first time, so some expectations. Food was outstanding, as always. Waitress was nice, and friendly, but forgot part of my order. No problem w/ parking, or seating.
The food was great and the waitress was the perfect amount of attentive.
The Sharon's enchilada is always the worth going to Stokes for.
The server, Andrea did a great job. Tasty strawberry margaritas.
Loved it. Food was excellent. Loved the vibe. Will definitely go back!
Food & atmosphere were enjoyable.
The waiter was NOT good. He didn't put the plates and cups down, he dropped them from about a 1/4 " height. Which in one case slopped coffee on the table. We also had to explicitly ask for coffee/water refills.
One of our table has allergies, and is VERY specific on ordering. He asked for a steak Medium-WELL, potato, and NOTHING ELSE on the plate. His steak was medium-RARE, and the vegetable of the evening was served on his plate. And we didn't really get a chance to complain, since we didn't see the waiter until the meal was almost over.
The rest of us had good entrees, but the sides were "meh".
Then, at the end of the meal we had to ask the waiter what the dessert menu was. One male ordered Bananas Foster, the the other male indicated that he and his wife would be splitting a creme brulee. The waiter then left...without asking if the other lady with us wanted anything. (She did!)
So, we asked ANOTHER waiter - since we couldn't find ours - to have another creme brulee added to our order. Which we did receive. And it was charged to the wrong couple.
Plus, for some reason - maybe the copper topped tables - the room smelled metallic.
We had a great time at Stokes! Spicy margarita recommended by our server was perfect for what I was looking for. Tenderloin skewers app was delicious, and since we’re trying to go Paleo, we each had a salmon dish. The salmon chopped salad was ok...could use something more. The salmon and potatoes was delicious. Overall, a great date!
Deviled eggs were super salty. The nachos were legit the worst I have ever had. My entree was fine but my dinner companion's mashed potatoes were extremely dry and unseasoned but veggies were way over salted. The meal cost almost $100 (with tip). Not worth it at all.
Pleasantly surprised for first time visit. will be going there again!
