The Filet Mignon was so tender and delicious. Best Steak I've ever had. Props to the Chef! Staff was amazing!
We were seated right on time and the service was phenomenal! Could not have asked for more.
Amazing!!! The food, the sushi, and the environment was great
How have we missed this restaurant?!? We have been to Chicago many times, but stumbled across this restaurant and had the best steak! Wonderful service and recommendations! Service was amazing. Thank you Norman!
wonderful skirt steak. huge portions. great raspberry sorbet.
We arrived early, were served by Andrew, talked with the manager between courses and our meal and service could not have been better. Sushi was fantastic, steak was prepared perfectly. Ideal place for a high end, delightful dinner. Great place.
Loved the food and service we received. We felt welcomed and very special.
I should have known not to buy sushi from a restaurant called Stetsons.
MY 2 SONS AND I TAKE A TRIP EVERY SUMMER, THIS YEAR WE WENT TO CHICAGO. WE WERE STAYING AT THE HYATT REGENCY DOWNTOWN. MOST HOTEL RESTAURANTS ARE AVERAGE. STETSONS HOWEVER IS EXCEPTIONAL. THE SERVICE WAS ABOVE STANDARD AND THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL. WHILE IT WAS SOMEWHAT EXPENSIVE, IT WAS WORTH THE PRICE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
Nice restaurant. Steak was very good. My son liked his sushi.
It was a very nice experience! The only thing was that a single piece of sushi ranged from $5-$7 but they do have a couple choices for an actual roll of sushi (8 pieces). The staff was AMAZING! There was never a dirty dish or utensil on our table for longer than 3 minutes, and our glasses were always full.
Food and service was amazing. Best steak in Chicago.
We enjoyed the dinner. We had the special which was very good. The price was affordable as well. Service was great. First time here, and we will be returning.
Service was lackluster. Food was just, OK. Best part of the meal were the popovers. We were not staying in the hotel so actually came a distance to go to this restaurants. Experience was such we would not return.
My wife and I did a date night and was pleased with everything they had. The sushi for an appetizer and steak was perfect. A couple of glasses of wine and the room was a nice dinner.
Terrible service. Worst restaurant experience in recent memory. Understaffed, disorganized. Spent over $1000 for a small group that had advanced reservations so there was no reason to not be prepared. Wait staff would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. Took an hour before meal orders were placed. Skipped ordering appetizers because there was nobody to take the order. Ordered a second drink twice and never showed up. Nobody received 2nd drinks. Water refilled once over the three hours it took from start to finished. Was told they only had one ipad drink menu. One side of the table was skipped on deserts. The food was prepared well, no complaints there except it was $50 for a poor quality piece of meat that would have been $12 at a chain steak place. Was told there was no manager available to speak to. Complained to a hotel manager that was outside the restaurant and they said they would look into it. Never heard anything from anyone.
Amazing vibe, great service and fantastic food. Love this place
First night in Chicago and tired from the flight so decided to just have dinner in this restaurant in the hotel. We knew we should order steak -- we're in Chicago!! -- but just not in the mood. What a nice surprise that the (generous number of ) shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were so plump and succulent. Also surprised to see crispy onion strings on the wedge salad. Is that a Chicago thing? Good martini. Satisfied except that service was slow and the restaurant did not seem busy enough to justify that.
Ribeye and Cap steaks were excellent. You'll rarely find the Cap steak in restaurants.
Six of went to celebrate Mother’s Day. We each started with a salad then we ordered individual steaks, seafood & four shareable sides (asparagus, mashed potatoes, mushrooms & creamed corn). We had chocolate cake & cherry pie for dessert. The cocktail, beer & wine list is good. Service was attentive & the food delicious. We will be back.
We had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I asked to surprise my fiance with dessert to celebrate our engagement. The team went above and beyond my expectation and surprised me as well. We are glad we visited the restaurant while in Chicago.
We had sushi, ribs and steak. Everything was wonderful and service was spot on. If you order the ribs, be ready to take some home. Highly recommend.
Waiter was just ok but I still gave him a good tip. I had friends visiting from Boston area & San Diego and just wanted them to have a good time here in Chicago. But I was just disappointed with waiter’s cold attitude. Good thing the hotel I booked for my guests which is Fairmont Hotel treated my guests well. It kind of compensate for the cold treatment we got from this restaurant.
Table and service was perfect!
Made our get together with local friends memorable. Had a combo of salad, sashimi, and steak. The grilled octopus and rib eye are a crowd favorite. Sashimi and sake were delicious too! We will be back!
Our dinner was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the ambiance and the waitstaff. Service was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and not at all overbearing. My wife and I will definitely return to enjoy another filet, and this time we’ll save room for dessert.
Top of the line upscale fine dining at its best. Great staff and chefs! I loved it and will return again soon!
Waiter was great, very personable and provided suggestions. He was spot on!
Excellent meal for business meeting. Superb service- was able to split bills for us easily, food was outstanding.
Wonderful ambience and amazing food. Night to remember!
Excellent food, wonderful wine recommendation and impeccable service.
The food/steak was delicious!! They even had my favorite wine, which is hard to find.
This is handy in the Hyatt but small and cozy. The staff was attentive and started is with a popover. It was as warm not hot and fluffy but not as light and airy as I normally like. The Caesar salad was the traditional recipe with the anchovies. Perfect. I hate when places feel like they have to put their own spin on the traditional recipe. The Filet was tender and nicely medium rare just as ordered. The whipped potatoes were fine but nothing special. And the chocolate cake was huge. Definitely for two or four. It was a lovely evening but not cheap $100 for one of us. A great place for an expense account.
Steak was over done. Front of house excellrnt. Back of house needs work. They comped the streal which was appropriate. They need to consider use of sous vide approach to get better control.
Everything was great except for the noise level. Sounded like large blowers going full blast and made conversation difficult.
The restaurant is located on the first floor of the Hyatt Regency. Though part of the hotel, and though mid level hotels tend to not have the best restaurants, we found Stetsons to be unexpectedly good. The filet was excellent quality, seasoned nicely, and cooked perfectly. The scallops (which are easy to mess up) were likewise done perfectly with a nice sear and excellent texture. I also must commend the serving staff. Out waiter was both prompt, engaging and knowledgeable. The restaurant was an unexpected enjoyable find.
Excellent food.. Attentive staff.. That made for a very enjoyable evening with my wife and daughter.
The food is fantastic. Order the octopus appetizer, it's great. I had the chefs selection sushi entree acne each piece was among the best quality fish I've ever had. My wife enjoyed her filet with the mushroom sauce, but the highlight was the whipped potatoes. Seems strange, but there was something about them that tasted out of this world. Highly recommended for a romantic dinner, who cares if the entrance is in the hotel lobby.
This is a great date night spot! It's the perfect place for my husband and I as he is a meat eater and me not so much. We get the best of both worlds. I loved that you get to customize your steak with different sauces. My husband had the ribeye, which had a nice crust on it and was cooked perfectly, and the whipped potatoes. I had the rainbow tuna maki as an appetizer and the salmon for an entree. They were both incredibly flavorful and fresh. The salmon portion was a lot bigger than I've ever gotten in similar restaurants and was absolutely delicious. The service was spot on and all the wait staff, especially our waiter Jose, were very friendly.
The food and drinks were very good. The waiter was attentive without being intrusive. All the waitstaff has a real attitude and engaged in conversation. We were there on a Thursday and is was not crowded or loud.
Lovely dinner with my hubby. Service was wonderful. My husband loved his Cap steak
