Steiner Ranch Steakhouse
Steak & Tail
We have been here a few times now, and the food is of good quality. However, our last two visits have been in a boring side room with little to no atmosphere whatsoever, and I know that is partly to keep tables separated, but going and sitting in a room with only 4 tables and no atmosphere at all doesn't quite make it worth the money spent on the meal.
Went to celebrate my husband and sons Birthday. First time there, spent $700 and they didn't even acknowledge their Birthday. Waitress was more interested in upselling us! Very expensive for what you get. Was exasperated when we got the bill and got charged for things we did not even know we would be charged for. Won't be back.
We made a reservation for dinner to celebrate our anniversary on the patio. The patio ended up being closed due to weather (chilly/rainy); however, the patio is covered and people were hanging out on the patio the whole time were there. Instead of having a table with a view and nice scenery, we were seated by the bar (and, it was quite loud). Luckily, our food was delicious and we had a fabulous server.
Food service drinks great
Great location, great service, great food & great atmosphere.
Great atmosphere and excellent view. The whiskey and wine selection was top notch and the prime rib was perfect
Great service and food. Enjoyable experience except for being charged for a birthday bread pudding cake - we assumed it was free because we did not order it.
Went for our anniversary and it was perfect in every way, especially our server James.
Waited over 15 mins after being seated. Never once was checked in on. Drove a long way for a special dinner date but ended up walking out...had high hopes but unfortunately this was a dud.
We were looking for an outdoor/open air location for my wife's birthday. Everyone was well masked and the service was excellent. Tables were spaced out appropriately well. The food was great as well. we over-ordered a bit but we were just happy to be out for once. I enjoyed the crab-stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. We each had the ribeye, hers a "Texan" 14oz, but I had the "cowboy" that was 22oz. Normally, I would get medium-rare but as many places undercook the steaks, I asked for medium. I should have gotten the medium-rare as this place seems to cook them pretty much as ordered. It was still great though. We also shared a side of the asparagus Oscar but really I was getting full and wanted to save room for dessert. Not sure if there is a dessert menu, because the waiter just brought out a bread pudding for her birthday. It was good though. I think we are going back for the Sunday brunch.
Our server was extremely attentive and helpful. Good job!
Everything is amazing.
Chicken fried elk is unforgettable
Excellent! Highly recommend!
Food was great, but the service left much to be desired.
The food was outstanding! Sitting outside was a treat on such a beautiful night. Josh, was an amazing waiter!
Thank you for making our anniversary dinner so wonderful :)
Food was not that good of a quality. Definitely prefer Eddie Vs or Capital Grille.
This is by far the best brunch in Texas! Exceptional environment, Great Service, amazing food selection, and all at an unbelievable price of $19.95. The Steiner Family also seems very much engaged and on top of everything that goes on at their restaurant which is also very impressive!
In addition to all the great food and service are views of Lake Travis and the surrounding area are unmatched! I Can say that because I live on Lake Travis.
We will be back frequently!
Recommended by a co worker. With a party of six, celebrated two birthdays .And the scenery, food and service was great. Our waiter JJ was the bomb!
Dinner was great - both the 3 beef medallions (3) different sauces and the Chilean Sea Bass. Vegetables were cooked correctly and seasoned appropriately (not like our last visit)
Service was average to slow as the business was very busy. Took almost 30 min to receive our first sting and had to ask several times for water.
We’re we were seated - was very noisy as the music inside the building was competing with the outside band - became an annoyance...
Will come back - hopefully better seating and not so busy!!
Everything was great overall. Music was a little loud but the view was gorgeous! And the service was outstanding!!
Very average food for very expensive prices. And the noise level was very high.
Moving out of state
We enjoyed our dinner very much.We were impressed with how well the restaurant handled Covid restrictions. We will definitely return soon.
Steiner Ranch is an interesting venue. I've always enjoyed the location for out of town guests, special occasions, meeting friends and a great steak! Not so much for the food anymore.....which is disappointing. The view will always be good and the Steiner's memorabilia is a first class trip down memory lane! It's Texas Cowboy cool....bring a wad of money and plan to stay awhile......
The room we dined in seemed vacant though there were other occupied tables. The feeling was as if this was a spare room instead of usual dining ambience. It wasn't bad but it didn't have the great feel of the rest of the restaurant.
My only unhappy moment was the cost of my glass of wine. I accept responsibility for not reading the menu price correctly, so no blame goes to our server. I wanted a single glass of full bodied red wine and the Frank Family Cab fit the bill, but I thought the price was $17 and instead it was $39 for a single glass! Wow.
We live in Steiner Ranch and love your restaurant, we will be back.
I enjoy every moment of the visit. The food is so delicious and the view is great. Must return for the sunset view.
10/10 would recommend
Everything was amazing except one the guests entrees. It came under cooked and then when came back everything was dry and she was not happy with it. Management took the right steps to correct the issue. Service was amazing .
Moms 60th birthday brunch was great! We sat in the room made of windows and she had the perfect view. Mimosas were amazing and we loved the buffet. Perfect early afternoon brunch!
Waited over an hour for food. Excessive noise. Could not have a conversation without having to yell. Baked potato tasted like it was cooked the day before and was lukewarm. Not worth the money. Looking for a better steakhouse.
Average at best. If you don't have a reservation for the view, not worth a visit. Generic steakhouse charging white table cloth prices.
Excellent service, delicious food, beautiful views. FYI there's a food and beverage minimum of $50pp to sit outside on the patio.
There is a mask requirement indicating patrons need to wear a mask when they are moving about the restaurant. Many many patrons were not respecting this, which made us feel uneasy as we feel universal cooperation on this is crucial. That was the only negative.
Great atmosphere as always.
We are neighbors and frequent patrons of the Steakhouse, which is why I chose it for a rare birthday dinner out in times of COVID. We had a table on the second floor patio, which was lovely. The food was good as always. The service was not. Our server was rushed, didn’t explain any specials or upgrades, didn’t per us any of our dishes, forgot my kids’ drinks, and was generally disorganized and casual about it. I felt like I was at a poorly run Outback. We will return, but I am really disappointed in how this experience was.
The view from the patio is amazing . The fire they had burning made is beautiful and romantic . There was a band towards the end of the night .
Food was delish and service was great!
Service, food, and ambiance was outstanding as always. They had live music for a Tuesday night but it wasn’t overly loud to where it became bothersome. Perfect selection of music. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
This was our first time eating here and everything was great.
Our celebration of our daughters birthday was amazing. The food was impeccable and the staff very attentive. Our daughter wanted a strawberry lemonade (which they did not serve), our waiter told her that, but asked the bartender to mix one for her. They went above and beyond. A favorite place to dine.
We requested a patio table on Saturday knowing about the minimum PPA and were given one of the nicer spots in the whole place. The whole experience was outstanding; live music, delicious steak, great wine. The ONLY thing I could nitpick about was the shrimp cocktail, it was pretty underwhelming but being that we were dining at a steakhouse I’m willing to give them a pass on it.
Relax and enjoy. Services was rapid. Get all the appetizers. Had the trio but gouda was flat. Gave it a 4 plus stars for everything else.
