   Disappointed with our visit today. My husband and I have been once before, just the 2 of us, and again with a larger group and both times (on a Saturday eve & a Tuesday noon) we had a great time! The 2 of us went today at 3 pm, and we're beyond disappointed. When we arrived, the hostess was cold and rude and seemed like she really didn't want to be there. We first opted to sit on the patio, but upon being seated outside (and I wiped my chair off as there was food all over the seat), it felt uninviting and very grey and dull, we then asked to be seated inside. After we were seated inside, we waited about 20 mins before we were able to order our food and the server didn't ask my husband what dip he wanted with his food. While we further waited, I could see the hostess leaning on her podium, looking extremely bored. It was nothing compared to the previous time we had been where the servers were laughing and it was lively inside. Once our food arrived, the waitress kind of dumped and ran. I had ordered the same that I had the previous time as it was delicious, the mushroom burger, but today it was stacked so high and messy. I couldn't enjoy it as I was trying to hold it together with out the patty flying out so I gave up and started to use my knife and fork, but when I tasted just the burger patty, it was tasteless. The dip that came with my husband's meal looked as if it was sitting out from last night. I will post a photo on here, as I took some due to our bad experience. It had old, discolored, crusty parts (see photo) and tasted just awful. I had mentioned that to the waitress when she came to clear our plates, and she simply shrugged it off, like she wasn't surprised. The waitress did not check up on us once during our meal, if she had, I would have said something earlier. We felt the food was super subpar, the staff was rude, lacking attentiveness, didn't care and wanted to be elsewhere. It was an extremely disappointing experience. We will not return.

   My experience was mixed. The food was good and the service was good. The problem is that I saw several mice running around the floor and when I brought it up to a server that was nearby, their response was, "yeah we're dealing with it but it's an issue because of the construction". A very nonchalant response. I don't know of a single patron that would be fine with rodents running around their dining room floor and definitely NOT the kitchen! Rodents can carry disease. My review would have been great if there was not this issue....and to Steamship Management...this IS an issue!! It's disgusting and at the very least a manager should have come over to speak with us (the one sitting at the table next to us with her laptop). Sorry for the bad review but it is what it is.

   The setting and ambiance are excellent, although the remote toilet facilities are a challenge and detract from the overall impression. Service was good, but uninspired. Food quality was a major disappointment - certainly not at an expected level. We ordered two 7-ounce sirloin northwest dishes. The vegetables were poorly cooked. We asked for the steaks to be cooked medium and medium-rare respectively. They both came cooked medium, bordering on well-done, were tough and tasteless. It seems that the cooks (I can't call them chefs) have learned the rules of the game, but are ignorant of the spirit. We might come again for the environment, but will stick to ordering macaroni and cheese - something that a kid in grade school can cook.

   Our first time there. The food looked and tasted great. Had the crab cakes and seafood soup. Husband had fish tacos. The place was bright and spacious. A good visit. Prices were decent

   While the food was incredibly delicious, the service was both slow and forgetful. What really disturbed us was the mouse running around the dinning room. When brought to the attention of wait staff they seemed unbothered by it and ignored the mouse. The last straw was when the mouse ran up my leg. I wouldn’t go back until the mouse problem is dealt with.

   I ordered the Mac and cheese since I was on a “ soft” diet. It was a step up from boxed Mac and cheese. Not impressed. Husband ordered pizza which was ok. As we were waiting for our check, we saw a mouse scurry across the dining area from the table next to us. Had I seen it before we ate I would have left the restaurant.

   We were visiting Victoria with our two interanational high school students during spring break. We had a wonderful dinner at the Steamship Grill and Bar. One of the students is vegetarian and the restaurant has a good selection of plates for her diet. We asked for a table by the window so the girls had a view of our favourite city to visit. Food was delicious, drinks were very good and the staff were fery welcoming. We had a wonderful time!

    Excellent server, very courteous and engaging. Food was delicious and nicely presented.
