Chef Eric Johnson cooks casual but elegant dishes at his Capitol Hill restaurant specializing in Contemporary Asian cuisine. Since opening in 2014, he’s won over Seattle diners with dishes like chili cumin pork ribs, fried master stock chicken, and crispy duck fresh rolls. The cocktails feature Southeast Asian ingredients like galangal and lime leaf. Stateside is conveniently located on lower Capitol Hill within a short walk of the Convention Center, the Paramount theater and downtown. Check out Stateside's cocktail lounge next door, Foreign National, for an intimate craft cocktail experience.

    The room was so noisy, we couldn’t hear our guests. Couldn’t hear the server. Food was good but courses served in a disjointed manner. Server, while very knowledgeable when you could hear him, seemed to be flying solo and overwhelmed by the demand of a crowded, busy Saturday night.

    This was our first time to Stateside. The ambiance was perfect. You could see people enjoying a meal with family and friends and yet it was also not a loud environment. The food was amazing! We had a non meat eater in the group and there were plenty of options for them as well. And you will regret it if you don’t leave room for one of their house made creamsicles! The service was incredible. Our server offered us lots of different options for various things like for those who didn’t want cilantro. It was an overall great experience and we look forward to visiting again!

    Such a wonderful dining experience in Seattle. Knock you in your face food and cocktails! Service was exceptional! Can’t wait to go back!

    Have I ever experienced a nicer server?!?! Not sure! We had amazing service and the food was divine. We will have to come back to try more things but the ribs were 🔥 and the goat curry made my boyfriend weep! 😭😍. Recommend you pay them a lil visit!

    The service was phenomenal and we didn’t eat a bad bite. Definitely recommend eating family style so you can try as much as possible. Also, the sticky rice dumplings were my group’s favorite dish. We had an excellent experience

    Our server could not have been better informed or more helpful in determining what would or would not challenge our palates and an allergy or two. He was attentive but not intrusive. He was also laid back. Food and cocktail offerings were imagined creatively and executed deftly.

    What an amazing experience! Service was excellent, food was better than any restaurant we have been to recently, drinks were unique, and ambiance was lively and relaxed. Food was just so unique and perfectly balanced and flavorful. We had their dumplings with a rich mushroom sauce, herbs, and crab; all ingredients stood out and worked well together. Curried pumpkin was also so flavorful and went well with Chinese broccoli. The two cocktails were very different than other places and excellent. Food was delivered hot and fast, and waitstaff were present and helpful without being obtrusive. We will definitely be back!

    Pleasant blend of French and Vietnamese. Bold flavors. Exceptionally competent staff will assist in navigating the eclectic menu. Small, well curated, wine list. Mainly French selections. Already looking forward to the next visit!
