Went for brunch Sunday morning with my husband and daughter at 10:45am. The weather was beautiful and outdoor seating is always wonderful! We have had our server a few times and she is fantastic!! She is very attentive with refills, checking on us frequently to see if we need anything, how are food is, etc. We shared the famous Big A$$ Cinnamon Bun which is always famous. My daughter and I both got peach Bellinis and my husband got an alcoholic speciality drink made out of different juices (I can’t remember the name of it)-all very good. My husband ordered the quiche of the day, my daughter ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of breakfast potatoes and I had the French toast with a side of bacon. All were SO delicious!! My daughter’s order was so big she had to take most of it home. We all had a wonderful time and will probably make reservations as many times as we can before the weather turns too cold to eat outside anymore!! Definitely go for brunch!!
We ate outside on a Friday night and as it got cooler they put on nice heaters. Service was good. It was busy, so everyone seemed a little rushed. We had drinks before dinner. My husband order the special which was tuna which was very good. I ordered the filet minion. First, I have never had a bad meal there before. Second, I have had the filet before and it was excellent and I was looking forward to it again this night. Anyway, it was served. Before we eat, our waitress checked in to see if we had everything. Then I started eating. The filet was charred on the outside and tough. Now, I asked for medium to medium well but this was beyond well. The potatoes, on the other hand, were not cooked. They were hard. The last time I got this, the filet was so delicious (could be cut with a butter knife), the potatoes were done beautifully, and there was a lot of mushrooms on top with a side of asparagus. The only thing that was the same was the side of asparagus. There was probably 4 slices of tiny mushrooms on it, which were good. Why did I not say anything or send it back? No one was near for a while and then I was starving. Needless to say, it was the most disappointing meal I have ever had there. I am wondering if whoever was on the meat that night was having an ‘off’ night?!? My husband’s was very good. We got coffee and dessert. Creme brûlée, one vanilla and the other chocolate. It was a beautiful night outside. We will be back...I just won’t be having any kind of steak. ;)
Everything was wonderful! Staff very attentive and all safety precautions were followed. Great lunch!
My husband and I were traveling through PA and stayed the night in Clark’s Summit for the first time. We were very pleased with our outdoor dining experience at State Street. We enjoyed excellent service, a good bottle of wine, and a delicious freshly prepared meal at a reasonably price. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming through this area!
What a treat! We felt completely safe sitting in a very socially distanced beautifully decorated dining room being served by skilled, masked waitstaff.
The fish tacos were great with a sweet, crunchy apple slaw.
The burgers are hand patties and have great accompaniments. The bisque tasted like a bowl of Fall.
Yum! Never disappointed at State Street!
This is an excellent place for a quick lunch or dinner. The menu is consistent which is both good and bad. If you always order the same items you'll be more than satisfied, if you like change and to try new selections, you'll feel limited.
The staff is great and the food is above par.
It was perfect !
Very good experience, even during these strange times. Always a good experience. Keep up the good work.
We have been going to State Street quite often this summer on a Saturday for brunch, and one Friday we stopped by....the food is truly awesome always!
Service ok off & on, we had the same server twice, don't recall her name but she was not good the first time, a bit better two weeks ago but we realized afterwards she overcharged us on the Saturday Mimosa Bottle of Champagne & juice. Should have been $19.99 and we wee charge the normal $24.99..Sad there was no turkey burgers also that Saturday, but yesterday Julie was such a great server, loved her! and we had the great pleasure of having the utmost awesome server that normally works the front outside area he is from the South Alabama? I believe he told us.. he is a great server there! Love the outdoor area. We will continue to come up as long as we can this season. Wishing you all the best thru the Winter months...Love State Street!
We go to State Street every time we are in NEPA(about once a month). We love it because we never run out of different great food to try on the menu, the great (and outdoor) ambiance and the service. Even though there is no bar seating Paul welcomes us back each time. We will continue to go back again and again.
State Street Grill had mastered outdoor dining years ago and is well suited during these COVID times. However, tables near State St. will encounter much traffic noise - motorcycle and truck noise especially - so ask for a side table if that’s a concern. We didn’t find conversation difficult. The food and cocktails were very tasty and the chocolate peanut butter tart is a fabulous shared dessert. We found the service to be of the same caliber. I’m usually never disappointed here and this recent visit was delightful.
Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. I can't wait to come back.
My husband, daughters and I arrived at 10:45am for brunch. This was the first time we were to brunch here in about 5 years-why it took so long to come back for brunch, we really don’t know...it was fantastic!! Waitress came with water. I ordered coffee, whereas my husband and ‘girls’ ordered mimosas. They got a bottle of champagne and a carafe of OJ, which was refilled, as needed. My husband ordered their eggs Benedict with ham. My daughter and I ordered their brown sugar coated French toast-she with bananas and mine with berries. She also ordered a side of sausage which my husband didn’t mind helping her eat. My other daughter had their Queso bowl. We all thought our meals were wonderful and there was nothing left on any of our plates. The outside dining area is very nice. We will definitely be making brunch reservations soon!!
Delicious meal...great waitress...look forward to our next visit ...
We really had a great time at State Street the evening we went. It was threatening to rain, since we were outside, and had a reservation, they sat us somewhat between their building (on the side) and the wall with the trees, etc. It sounds terrible but it is all pretty and beautifully decorated! It was perfect if it started raining and was a little windy-we definitely would not have gotten wet! They have some high top tables, as well as regular ones. We were seated at a high-top. Service was excellent! The waitress came right away with glasses of water, asked if we would like any drinks, other than water, etc. She did card my daughters (23 and 25) which was good. Our drinks were good. My daughter and I had pina coladas, my other daughter had a Moscow mule, and my husband a Guinness. The waitress did give a run down of all the specials as well. My family took advantage of those. My one daughter, who is vegetarian, had the black bean soup. The other had the chicken spring rolls and my husband had their turkey cream soup. All looked as delicious as they said they were...I get severe migraines from onions (weird right?) so I couldn’t try any :( Our dinners came- WOW! My husband had the special, a fish we all can’t remember the name of- fabulous! My daughter had the veggie tacos. She said she will definitely be back for those...loved them! I had the filet mignon-OMG!! It was SO tender and perfectly done. The whole dish was to die for! My other daughter was going to try their veal special, the waitress said “I have one more left” Of course, when she went to put it in-it was gone. So she got a steak/filet. Hers came out prepared differently than mine but she loved hers and I loved mine. She was happy they didn’t have anymore of the special. Even though we were SO full...we had dessert. I had a coffee, which was fresh. The girls had creme brûlée. My husband and I had their specials. I had ‘plain’ rice pudding and he had coconut. It was a wonderful evening!!
Food was great and the service was attentive & very quick. Only complaint would be the bug problem the restaurant has with their outdoor set up — bugs were very distracting & bothersome. Other than that 10/10
Food wasn’t as good as past
Service was great
Excellent food, fantastic service and a wonderful evening. We will be back!
My husband and I went out to lunch to celebrate my 39th bday. We had an amazing meal. We LOVED the chip appetizer. State Street is our favorite restaurant. We are never disappointed there.
Always loved your restaurant. I had a best salad that was delicious but overpriced in my opinion. Would still have been well worth the price if I received a full salad. What I got looked like a side portion.
Great service. Tables are not far enough apart for proper social distancing. Good food, not great. Would recommend for drinks and apps for the pre-game crowd. Our waiter was excellent, above and beyond. Cute place.
Always a great place to relax with friends and enjoy a delicious meal with outstanding service—an especially enjoyable experience during COVID.
Excellent service and food quality in a nice outdoor venue.
Food excellant,service great,atmosphere perfect!Would highly recommend it.
Dinner was good with a good selection. Although 2 orders (steak and burger) were overcooked. It took 45 minutes to get the food. There were 4 desserts offered and they were out of 2 of them. Staff was friendly and the outdoor patio was lovely. I would try eating here again as they may have just been overly busy - it was a Saturday night.
sad they were out of the turkey burger but made the same thing only using a beef burger instead. Soup was supposed to be chicken rice. It was very delicious just no rice? House made chips very good as always and sole fish taco's delish.
Very nice. Excellent service
My fiancé and I agree that this is the best restaurant in the NEPA region!
We were welcomed to a table under a tent which was very comfortable. There was low music playing in the background and the scenery was fine. The menu had plenty of choices and what we ordered was perfect. The cook was able to modify my husband's salad - cobb with no bacon, and I had the fish tacos which were delicious. My water glass was constantly filled and we also had dessert - a brownie ala mode which was delicious.
Can't go wrong at State Street; food is consistently good, as is the service. The staff is well trained. But the noise levels leave something to be desired. Inside it is pretty loud---hard surfaces don't muffle sound. Sadly warm weather dining outdoors is much worse due to the TRAFFIC NOISE HORRIBLE especially the trucks. Not the fault of the restaurant, but if there WAS a way to minimize the traffic racket, that would be awesome.
Foolish CS Council did not pursue the "by-pass" years ago.
Strawberry Daiquiri and Stella draft were excellent.
Meatloaf was interesting - nice presentation. Not too cheesy.
Bowl of French onion soup - less cheese than some, but at end enough. Taste was excellent also.
Bam Bam shrimp tacos were good - lots of cut up shrimp - spicy yet kind of a Chinese duck sauce taste.
Sat outside - great for CoVid - lots of seating
Hamburger was raw
Ordered a caesers salad but got a regular side salad.
Outdoor seating was comfortable, shaded, and well-spaced.
Our food and drinks were amazing! Our fantastic server Dana was so much help!!!! She is an asset to your restaurant!!! We will definitely be back soon!
The food was wonderful as always but the service was honestly very poor. She was non attentive , rude , short , and I can keep going. Being in the industry , I try to be really understanding and patient , but she was the worst we had in a LONG time .
Loved sitting in the spacious covered outdoor setting. Food was terrific and our waiter was the best. Will be back!
Loved the food and the atmosphere!
As always the food was delicious! We were outside on a very nice evening and the service staff was personable and helpful!
A great evening!
Our waiter, whose name I unfortunately can’t remember, was absolutely outstanding. He made recommendations on the menu and both the blackened tuna club sandwich, and the Cobb salad with chicken were phenomenal. While sitting outside unfortunately comes with loud noise from traffic the food and service made up for it.
Beets and berries salad was great!! Service was excellent 👍🏻👍🏻
