5 star excellent all around. From ambiance to appetizers to main dish very fresh ingredients excellent
We had the pleasure of dining a few times at Stars while also a hotel guest at the Inn at Perry Cabin and it was just delightful. The food was consistently good and we especially enjoyed the Crab Chowder and Pork Tenderloin. It was outstanding. The deserts were not tempting but the appetizers and entrees were quite good.
One of our “special occasion” go-to’s, Stars was way off their game this day. We waited at the hostess stand for 10 minutes while she had an extended phone call. We had a very nice, well-meaning server who was unfamiliar with the wine list or what a Bin number was. Six of my seven selected wines couldn’t be located. The food was “okay”, but not up to usual and expected standards. We are hoping this was just an off day. Please, let that be the case! 🙏🏻
Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to Stars. We are in the midst of purging much of our wine inventory in an effort to bring in newer options. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and look forward to seeing you on your next visit to the Inn.
The view is stunning and the ambiance lovely. The food is mediocre at best. An exception is the cheddar biscuit appetizer - addictive and delicious. Otherwise, crab cakes were very overcooked and dry. Side veggies were extremely bland. Service was annoyingly aggressive, but we had a trainee, so perhaps it's a little more refined with experienced staff. All and all, it's a lovely venue - it's just too bad that the food/service doesn't live up to the rest of the experience.
The setting is spectacular, and service was good. My rockfish was not cooked through (gelatinous, not flaky in the center)!
I did not complain because I didn’t want to spoil the mood. The prices are ridiculous. Other dishes were just OK.
A fabulous way to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary! Food and atmosphere was top notch.
The view at Stars was lovely. We could not have enjoyed that more. Our server was also very good. The food, however, was extremely disappointing. My husband could not find much on the menu to his liking. When he asked for a traditional Caesar salad rather than the one listed the server had to get the chefs approval. Even then it came without dressing. For his entree he had a bone in ribeye. It totally lacked flavor.
I had a tomato and feta salad. It was fine. For my entree I had a pesto pasta dish. Again it was lackluster.
The restaurant offers a very limited menu. I’m fine with that but I expect the dishes to be tasty and inspired. On this evening ours were not.
I don’t think we will be back any time soon.
Best dining experience we have had in years. Service was extraordinary.
Thank you so much for the kind words regarding your recent dining experience at Stars. Our culinary team is always sourcing the freshest local ingredients and we are delighted that you enjoyed your meal. We look forward to hosting you again.
Didn’t have our reservation. Put us outside in rain with mosquitos. Was for my 30th anniversary —just a bit upset. Didn’t have spoon to use for soup until it was cold. Not very happy to have a dog seated next to me at a fine dining restaurant.
Disappointing! This was our second visit to this area and we were really looking forward to our dinner @ Stars. In fact, we originally made 3 reservations but cancelled the balance after the first night. Service was slow and food was just ok. One of our meals was delivered to the table at room temperature and had to be sent back. Sad because I wrote a raving review 2 years ago :(.
Scenery, staff, meal, drinks, atmosphere, view...the Inn at Perry’s Cabin has everything for every type of occasion. No doubt the best in St Michaels and my favorite in the region.
Ben was a terrific waiter excellent suggestions delicious lunch
Thank you for the great feedback regarding Ben. We will be sure to let him know you appreciated his service. Looking forward to seeing you on your next visit to Stars.
Stars ambience is amazing. The table linens place settings a 5. Our waiter Tom was excellent. Service a 5. For the price expected much better as far as the food. Much improvement is needed. Presented very nicely. I had the Pork Tenderloin flavor was there. However it was warm and the quality of the Tenderloin was not there.
Thank you for dining with us in STARS. We are delighted that you enjoyed the service provided that night by Thomas. We regret that we did not live up to our normal standards in regards to the food. We sincerely apologize. We appreciate your feedback and will follow up with our team to ensure we are providing exceptional quality moving forward. Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and we hope that you will give our culinary team another chance in the future. Chef Gregory James -
Ambiance & view from dining room doesn’t get much better than this! Exceptional food & service! Perfect romantic date night! Will definitely be returning
Greetings Suzieq- We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience. Check back with us often as our culinary team will be partnering with our local watermen and farmers to procure the highest quality seasonal ingredients for the menus in Stars and throughout the hotel. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Food is great and location wonderful. Brunch was very expensive however. Be ready
The restaurant and view are absolutely beautiful! The service was excellent! The problem was the menu, I had what was described as chicken and dumplings and my husband had crabcakes. My chicken was a cornish hen and had little to no meat on it, and the dish was very very salty, my husbands crab cakes were long an d stick like and were overdone. We asked to split a burrata tomato salad, but was barely enough for one whole let alone split for two. The soups were excellent, tomato lentil and crab bisque! We did not have dessert. We had breakfast the next day and I had scrambled egg tacos, which were not the best. The tacos were corn and overheated and brittle, difficult to eat. My husband had scrambled eggs and bacon, which were fine. We had dined here a few years ago and loved it, including the food. I don't know if they changed chefs but we were very disappointed. No steak on the menu! Hopefully a change to a better menu and chef for our next visit!
There was very little selection. I ordered chicken and dumplings and it came with a bizarre bbq sauce. There wasn’t a steak option or a fish filet option. They did have fish stew. My beet salad had raw beets and an aggressive mint seasoning. The service was very good and the room and view were beautiful. I really wanted it to be good.
Wonderful service and new, innovative chef.
Thank you to our server Terry! He is "Always" Friendly and Top Notch w/Service! Thank you to the omelette Chef, as well! Great omelettes with a Smile...
Had a fabulous meal at Stars last summer and was looking forward to returning. Very underwhelmed. I guess others were as well, because there were 3 tables booked the whole evening. Menu was kind of off, I could only soup. They made a big show of "complimentary champagne" for a birthday and brought the most wretched supermarket Prossecco you could imagine. Nearly spit it out. Nothing tasted good after that.
Food, ambiance was very good. However the waiter service (Terry)was outstanding. It was a great experience. Thank you.
Very nice dining room, excellent food and service. We had a breakfast buffet the next morning and that was excellent as well
Stars never disappoints. Wonderful dinner and perfect service. So lucky to have Stars in Talbot County!
Stars did not live up to our expectations. Beautiful facility and grounds but poor dining experience. Food was mediocre and service was below average. Restaurant was close to empty on a Saturday night.
What a shame. This restaurant has the facilities and location to be a top 10. Would not recommend.
What a great spot with unbelievable food, service, and views!!
Delightful ! Would recommend to our family and friends!!
So overpriced! Crab and corn chowder was delicious - but not worth $16 a bowl. Dinners were small portions and very expensive. Farmhouse chicken was not flavorful. The sea bass was good but the mushrooms were odd, tough and had no flavor. Chocolate ice cream was yummy- but again - way overpriced for three very small scoops.
The atmosphere is lovely - but would not go back.
wife’s birthday 🎂 she loved it
we also had breakfast twice and truly outstanding ❤️
When my friend and I went for lunch in the winter to beautiful St. Michaels and the Inn at Perry Cabin, it was very quiet. However it was wonderfully decorated for Christmas and the restaurant overlooks the water. Be sure to ask for a table by the window. The food, although not a very extensive menu at lunch, was very good and a very generous serving. We have a lovely time. Be sure and visit the quaint little town of St. Michaels while you are there.
The Inn at Perry Cabin is worth seeing anytime, that is, if you've not been to St. Michaels MD before.
Naturally, the cost is fairly expensive, but the service is quite good and the ambiance is very good.
They pay attention to detail. I've been there before, and it was better in terms of food, but it's still better than most any other restaurants in town. And it's civilized!!
Second time I've been disappointed there. Really a shame. Lovely locale, beautiful place......food and beverage don't work.
Our sea bass was not cooked properly, so they brought us a new meal. They did comp us our wine and the server was excellent. Something else that occurred when they brought us the bill, ants crawled out of the bill holder.
Very disappointed! Before we went we looked on the website for the menu options and when we got to the restaurant the menu did not reflect what we were anticipating. The food was fair and over priced. The crab bisque had little to no crab meat in it. I travel and eat at many restaurants and don't mind paying a high price for a quality product. This place must think less is more. Will not be back and will certainly not recommend.
My wife and I celebrated her birthday at the Inn and dined at Stars in the evening (and again for Sunday Brunch). Menu, Staff, & Experience was outstanding
Definitely worth the trip. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Menu selections not particularly interesting, wine list outragiously expensive, not nearly as good an experience as when owned by Orient Express. Have eaten here several times over the years, and, frankly, think one can do better at half the price in St. Michaels.
The worst steak I’ve ever eaten. My husband said he’s had better at Golden Corral... For the price we paid, we were highly disappointed. The vegetables tasted like they had just been pulled from the dirt and the rolls tasted like they had been taken out of a supermarket plastic bag. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
Always a favorite for special occasions or just a wonderful meal, service and view
The beef Medallion was superb. The meat almost melted in my mouth it was so tender.
Wonderful food in a magnificent room; excellent wine list. Wayne and Terry took great care of us. All in all, a very enjoyable.
