I went with high expectations of a great steakhouse. Not sure where all these rave reviews come from. The service was slow and not very good. We would have to hunt for our server for water refills, to order, the check, etc.

The food was expensive and just OK. Like my husband said - I can make a better steak than this. It wasn't particularly flavorful, and for the price it should have been. My potato was so overcooked it was dry. We were only in town for a few days, and with so many great restaurants, I am sorry that we wasted our $350 and our time on this one.

My food was outstanding as well as the environment, but my sons steak was over cooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. I felt our server was not really as interested in our experience as she could have been. She offered us dessert and then walked away before everyone had a chance to respond. Our meal was a bit over priced.

We celebrated a birthday, and the fact that the food, ambiance, service, everything was perfect, made it that much more special. We had 2 children with us, and they loved the Mac and cheese dish w/broccoli. All the steaks were perfect. Cocktails, perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and I can't wait to dine again. Thank you!

The attention from our server was excellent. We had to wait an extremely long time for our food, so much so that our server comped our drinks.

We showed up five minutes early for our reservation. They let us know our table wasn't ready and directed us to the bar. My wife and I ordered a drink and started to enjoy ourselves. After a bit, we noticed they never came for us. It was 20 minutes past our reservation and no one ever came to take us to our table. We ended up eating at the bar in the extremely uncomfortable stools. The bartender informed us new ones were coming, she just didn't know when. I'm chalking this up as an anomaly, because the food and service are usually excellent! Just Wanted to share this for fellow OT'ers

Starks is located in more of a residential area just outside of the old downtown. If you are staying across at the Hyatt or Marriott, you can walk but will have to go through an area ripe with homeless. The food was delish! This is a very upscale steak house with contemporary decorations on the inside of a building that is a throwback to the 1920s. Service was pretty good and attentive. We passed up on dessert for ice cream and a magic show downtown. Portions were larger than I expected, but it's highly possible that we ordered too much (appetizers, salads, etc). Nice place to get a great steak.

As a special splurge, I ordered the lobster. I was really looking forward to it. When it came, I could see that the meat in the tail was shrunken and dull looking. I poked the little extraction fork in it to get it out, and it felt like mush. Worse than mush, the fork just sort of slipped through it. It was like pulling thick pudding out of the tail. When I went to cut it, it flattened and stuck to the dish like weak glue. Disgusting. I sent it back. I love lobster, and have never seen meat so off. I can only guess that the chef did not check the meat, or did not know the meat had turned.

Also ordered the truffle fries. The fries are very greasy, and the truffle essence was missing. Just plain old greasy fries.

My dining partner loved the Mac and Cheese and the Usual Suspects salad, so that was nice.

The bread before dinner is awesome.

Food and service were outstanding. The noise level was a little bit too much for me. Overall, it was a great experience because it was a happy occasion for us since we were celebrating a birthday.

Happy Hour awesome. Service in bar and dinning room good. As far as dinner we were so disappointed. We have always had great meals,fish deals included. We ordered the 32oz porterhouse for 2. Ordered it med came rare. The steak was not 32oz.I have bought my fair share of steaks and I know size.... we will come again,just unfortunate our 27th anniversary dinner not so celebratory.

We arrived at 6 PM for dinner and waited 10 minutes for our waiter to show up. He left to help other customers, but on his way by I flagged him down to ask a question. He told me he would be right back to help answer my question. It took him at least 10 minutes to return. We ordered our meal by 6:20. The salads did not appear until 7:10...seriously 50 minutes ?!! I split the rib eye with my Husband and we both agreed that it was not worth the price - $39.00 plus the side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Too expensive for what you get. We won't be eating there again.

We've been to Stark's before and loved it. But this time, not so much. The server was super friendly but the service was slow. She was very busy on a Friday. The Cesar salad was good and so was the crispy calamari, but the entrees were overcooked or cold. The queen cut prime rib was chewy and over cooked. Bad. The scallops cold.
We'll think about somewhere else next time. Or maybe during the week.
