The food is excellent and keeps us coming back to Stanley's at least once a week. Among our favorites are the crab cakes (best we've every had) and the always-perfectly-cooked blackened salmon. The bread and salads are great, too. Service is always wonderful, and we love the location in the historic hotel.
20 min wait for the bartender to finely take our drink order.
the bar had 9 people including us in there. When we sat down at the bar, we noticed there wasn't a bartender tending the bar? it took the bartender 10 mins to make an appearance and when she did she didn't Acknowledgest us for another 5 minutes.
She took one drink order from the waitress (Tonic water) with a twist the whole time as we sat waiting for her to take our order. Hopefully this was just a fluke...
Our dinner Was OK, a bit pricey for what we ordered.the salads are very good.the bread was different then the usual bread then you normally would get at a Steakhouse, Our starter was delicious an order of calamari with 2 dipping sauce. Our dinner was bit Disappointing as the prime rib and My steak were Tough. We Brought it home for dogs they loved it.
The Staff is always wonderful and Eric was especially attentive and charming! The food was great too!
The Prime Roast Beef was incredible! Wait staff was attentive and super nice.
Amazing steaks!!!!!!! Can't wait to go back again.
Poor food, overly priced. Booked dinner for Thanksgiving, no menu, only buffet, better meal at Home TownBuffet for half the price. Never again, stay away!!
My family and I have gone here for the last 3 thanksgivings, The staff here is amazing and always top notch. And the restaurant and hotel are an amazing setting for the holiday. The food for the previous 2 years was delicious and worth the 50.00$ per person fee. This year is was horrible. I’m not sure if they’ve changed chefs but it just wasn’t good at all. And the desserts were abysmal, they could have went to Costco and bought better desserts. My party spent almost 500$ for severely sub par food, and wished we would have just went to KFC. We will not be back next year. I feel horrible to write a bad review because the wait staff was truly amazing but sadly thanksgiving comes down to the food and I can’t recommend it at all.
Really good food. Limited beer selection. Charming historic ambience though the furniture is not in keeping.
Food was fabulous...but our server was busy and seemed a little long to get our salads and water glasses refilled.
Great service from our waitress. Prawn cocktail was very good value and simple, classic taste with perfectly cooked large prawns. Butternut squash soup was a bit too sweet for my tastes but i prefer savory flavors in vegetables and cream soups. Lemon bar for dessert was awesome; huge serving of delicious, tangy, multi-layered bar. i took 2/3rds of mine home, even after eating a small dinner. The wine list is a bit short on rose' varieties (only one dry one out of three) The rest of the list is very robust. And my hard-liquor drinking friends said the bar is well-stocked. The real fireplace in the main dining area is very attractive and lends a cozy atmosphere. Appreciate the 10% local discount too.
Stanley’s is consistently great food and personable service. New menu offers some super new choices.
Nice restaurant, fine dining in casual atmosphere. Four of us for lunch, 3 of us chose the prime rib sandwich and 1 the cheeseburger. A nice side salad accompanied each entrée. Prime rib sandwiches very thick with layer after layer of thin sliced meat with Au Jus to dip into, very tasty and filling. Cheeseburger had all the trimmings and huge. Brunch menu varied with many more traditional breakfast items to go along with the sandwich offerings. Service was very good, server friendly. A little disappointed that just brunch menu was available, would like to have had some dinner choices like steak, etc. Still an enjoyable dining experience.
We enjoyed our meal at Stanley's Steakhouse. A good variety of choices for all. Service was good and food fantastic.
Had dinner on a quiet eve at Stanley's. My pasta with clams was OK. There was something more than garlic and white wine in the sauce which took away from the quality. The other dish was a risotto dish where the rice was overcooked.
Attractive historic restaurant, but the food is just OK.
We came here to celebrate our anniversary and enjoyed the food very much. One of the other tables were really loud and it was annoying. Our server was sweet but a little busy. I expected a little more for the prices.
Our steaks were properly prepared. The sear, seasoning, rendered fat, and temperature were spot on. My compliments to the chef and crew as this seems to be a dying art.
I have eaten here on several occasions and I am always pleasantly surprised by the creativity of the chef. This is a small gold-rush era town, and it is easily as good as anything you will find in Sacramento. Great place to eat and spend the night, the hotel is affordable and decorated in antiques of the period.
The food was amazing and the service was good. I usually frequent steakhouses in the Reno area and Stanley is maybe not as fancy, but the food is just as good or better than some steakhouses in Reno. The waitress was very nice. Stanley was a nice place to dine and have wonderful food.
yummy steak--best have had in a long while will be back
A historical place to enjoy a great meal with a first rate presentation.
Blackened salmon was the best ever; molasses bread and the rest of the meal was great, too.
Service was even better. We really enjoyed the entire experience.
We dined in at this restaurant so many times and never earned wrong points.
I'm Gregory White & I made a reservation at Stanley's Steakhouse w/booked 1,000 pts on Sunday 10/7/18 at 5:30pm but I noticed that I only earned 100 pts on my profile. Please make a correction on it? Appreciated!

Pleasant quality place to bring friends to for a pleasant dining experience. Top of my list for Amador County.
Food was cooked perfectly - very good, prompt, attentive service - recommend the prime rib.
Won’t go back. Our food was cold. As if it sat for a while before being served Server was very nice but not worth the time and money. Disappointed all around!
Our waitress was awesome. There were more tables to be served than any waitress could accommodate. The restaurant had more patrons than waite staff.
After numerous years of patronage, thankfully the food has maintained its quality, however service has failed. Busser's are gone; servers are handling far too many tables and service has gone from dinner house to coffee shop. Sad to see decisions being made out of concern for overhead costs while ignoring the need for dinner house expectations. Sorry Stanley, but you have failed. Doubt we will be back.
Great food and friendly service with a nice bar. Beautiful setting in the National Hotel. Highly recommend place to stay and eat!
I brought my niece for her birthday. We all enjoyed the experience as the food was excellent, The drinks made with real fruit were very tasty and the wait staff there when you want them and gone when you did not. Overall a very happy experience. I would recommend Stanley's
Food was good, but the restaurant was not very busy. Service should have been even better.
Stanley's steakhouse is really a great place to eat. It is easily the best place in the Jackson, the county seat. Located inside a gold rush era hotel, on picturesque Main St., this place has something for everyone. The bar is fantastic and the friendly service can not be beat! But the reason you go out to a restaurant is to eat, right? The menu here reflects the creativity of the chef, and offers some unique dishes not found elsewhere. The value is definitely worth giving this place a try.
Service was very friendly and moderately fast. It was really busy causing staff to hustle. Couple things were overlooked because of it like bread dishes and bread but brought when we asked. Food was very good. Took a chance on the Brussels sprouts appetizer - fantastic! Mains were plated with care and creativity. The Wellington was cooked to perfection. NOTE: bring a sweater, just in case your in the vicinity of one of the over-efficient A/C's.
It is a neat location and I give the friendly staff an A for effort but, by their own admission, they were understaffed on a busy night. It took too long to order and too long to get our food. From a food standpoint, my husband ordered the lamb and it was excellent. I had a wedge salad (very good) and the ribeye. The steak itself was a good cut of meat and well seasoned but I ordered medium rare and got medium to medium well. It still tasted good, so I ate it. We would go back. If it's a weekend, just don't be in a hurry....
Wedge steak salad small. Food was ordinary. Good service. Maybe I was there in an off day?
Another delicious meal at Stanley's! Stanley visited us at our table, and this always adds to the experience.
The food was excellent but the service was mediocre at best. We weren't sure what kind of wine we wanted until after we ordered our entrees and had to flag a bus boy down to get someone to take our wine order. We saw bread on other tables and finally asked the same bus boy if we could have bread too (this was after our salad course). We barely saw our server. Good food overall but dreadful service.
Great atmosphere food was really good. Taylor was accommodating and very sweet. Great wine cellar!
The food was absolutely delicious. I am vegan- our waitress Hailey was so accommodating and was able to have the chef provide me with a fantastic vegan dish. We will definitely be back for a visit soon. Thank you!
Set in the most beautiful hotel! The service was excellent! The food was wonderful! The aged ribeye was the best I have ever had. The wedge salad was just delightful and the shrimp cocktail was excellent also. Our party of nine was the really happy
Birthday celebration multiple people asked if we were celebrating anything but then nothing ever happened no birthday anything. The food was not as good as it has been in the past.
