An excellent meal with a killer view of Tacoma. The staff is friendly , polite and will go the extra mile to make sure you have a wonderful dining experience. This is not just a meal, it is an experience!
We celebrated my husband’s birthday and had a party of 9. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. The view and the food was great too.
The four of us had a great time; food, server, and ambience were wonderful!
Stanley & Seaforts is BACK! We were delighted to find the quality of food every bit as delectable as it was 20 years ago.
They must’ve been very busy.Or low on staff service is kind of slow took a while to get our drinks and appetizer
And they were starting to run out of things
That was a very disappointing
Not sure if because of “after” COVID , the service was poor, took 20 minutes before our waiter came over to take our drink order, then another 10 minutes to take our food order. But since it was a birthday dinner, we just went with the flow. The artichoke and crab dip was good, salads were bitter, the halibut was dry and overcooked and the risotto rice cakes were raw and crunchy. The shrimp were over cooked, mash potatoes were cold and the asparagus was under zone. We were safe and wore masks, but hardly none of the customers wore a mask, and none of the employees wore a mask. It just all felt odd! We used to love coming here, but won’t be back.
Food had a hair in it and was cold. Service was okay but had to ask for a water refill.
Amazing food, can't beat the views. Would highly recommend.
We sent our kids their for Anniversary. We had made reservations 5 days before and requested a window table. They were treated like crap and sat way in back of the restaurant. So disappointed we have been coming to Stanley’s for 30 plus years
Enjoy the view. Server was in training did a nice job.
Great place with great food! Prime rib is to die for..accommodation were wonderful.. get reservations
Steak was tender and tasty. Chowder was hearty and savory. Server was great.
I would only return to Stanley & Seaforts again if a business lunch was scheduled there or if we need to accommodate a medium-sized party (8-10 people). The steaks and french onion soup were TOP NOTCH. However, salads were drowning in dressing and lettuce limp with the weight of it. Vegetables and potatoes that accompanied the meal looked like yesterday's leftovers. Our server (Jen) seemed very unhappy with her job and rarely smiled. The purpose of our gathering was to say farewell to an executive manager who was moving to another state. Her brother who was present gave the soup high marks and indicated his tenure in the hospitality business. But all guests at our table wondered why the server was so unpleasant. All commented that the vegetables (salad and cooked side accompaniments) were terrible. All gave high marks for their fish, chicken or steak. Final note: no vegetarian options like grilled portobello mushroom. Probably a good thing considering how poorly the vegetables were prepared.
customer service, food, view, and value was fantastic.
Our server was awesome he met all needs of my party of ten. He was great with making the kids laugh. The food was amazing, the view was amazing, worth every penny.
OMG what a view. 1st time dinner there. Good to have GPS to get there. Staff were courteous and cheerful. And long time employees that like to work. Food was most delicious. Great chefs.
Beautiful view with outstanding service. Delicious food. Great for any occasion.
The food and service were fantastic. The building is looking a little tired and there were few decor touches. We also had dirty silverware and linens which was concerning. Overall, very good but room for continuing improvement as they open back up.
The server, Mackenzie, made the dinnng experience much better. She was attentive, friendly, the timing of service was excellent. The view makes the setting and the cheff's creations are a match.
Haven't been back for a bit because place was getting worn and food was less then par. There was no other place that had an opening so we went back and food was actually quiet good and looks like most tables felt the same. I'm still disappointed about the general appearance of the once beautiful restaurant, I hope the clean it up soon, but now at least the food is worth going back for a now casual dining atmosphere.
Food and service was great! Can’t wait till they have a full menu. Thanks for the window table! 🙂
The portions have decreased. Quality has spilled a bit.
I gad to return my wine because the glass smelled of detergent.
The dessert was a sliver of cake.
El Gauchos is better.
The service was good, the kitchen was slow - seems to be the trouble these days in all restaurants due to post Covid. The view is amazing and that was worth the trip.
This place has top level service and a delicious menu. Not to mention the best view in Tacoma! High recommend!
They have a dish back on the menu that’s my absolute favorite, and it was delicious.
The staff was friendly and we were seated promptly. The food was great and plentiful.
We were.celebrating my birthday and enjoyed our meal with a great view and awesome service.
Excellent bar. Lavender cosmo was fantastic. We sat outside and had a lovely meal. Upon arrival there was a lady talking on speaker on her cell phone - was a bit irritating. She left soon after we arrived luckily. Our meal was prompt, well-served. Food was good, fish was a bit overcooked. My husband's steak was good. Overall a nice evening out.
It was supposed to be a date night for hubby and me after work and time away from kids. It started just fine; our waitress was attentive and welcoming. We chose to be seated a few distances away from others for social distancing, and we sat next to the stairs. While having a quiet talk, another server may have tripped on the steps, causing red wine glasses to fall and break on my husband's shoulders. The manager and waitress came to the rescue and tried to alleviate the situation. We tried to be understanding of the circumstance, although it was very humiliating and awkward. We had an option to walk out at that point, but we decided to stay and make the best out of it. The manager said they'll take care of our check, they didn't have to, but we kept our mum.
Hubby was unharmed, with just a couple of glass scratches. He had to take off his contact lenses due to wine splatter on his eye. Because he was soaked with red wine, he decided to wash his shirt sleeve in the restroom. We asked if they had a spare company shirt, he was offered the chef's uniform top with the comment, "welcome to the crew" from the manager. To me, that was more of an insult rather than to appease the situation.
Regarding the food, it was ok. I had the grilled salmon; hubby had the wagyu steak. We ordered for the steak to be medium-well; it was served medium-rare. The manager asked how the food was; we told him steak was undercooked; he said he was sorry and came to repeat, "dinner is on me."
As an upscale and older restaurant, I wish there was a better process of how incidents, such as ours, would have been dealt with taking into consideration the humiliation and stress of the customer. Im sure this was not a first time on your part. I hate to take on the racial aspect of the situation. But should that incident happen to a non Asian customer, would have it been dealt differently? just a thought.
We had a great dinner! Food was great. Service was awesome!
Excellent service and food….! Our 60th birthday celebration was wonderful thanks to the attentive service and recognition!
The environment is outdated and dirty. There was lipstick smear on my husbands water…he was brought a dirty glass of water. Then I notice my glass had grime inside. The food was clearly not fresh since it came out all at once. Too expensive given how poorly that was timed. Staff is very friendly and food was ok. Not worth the money and weird stuff happened like one potato on a plate when it was on the menu as “fingerling potatoes” But many better portions near by. They need to revamp environment, figure out how they served a water with fresh lipstick on it, step up cleanliness, time food better, and reevaluate their prices
Great view, excellent service, extraordinary food. Perfect choice for a celebration dinner.
Had an enjoyable dinner, good food and service was outstanding.
Birthday dinner, exceptional and fast service. It’s great to be back and out having a nice dinner with friends.
This restaurant always has amazing food, knowledgeable and super friendly staff and amazing food! This is our go to place whenever we want to spoil ourselves.
The prime rib was excellent!
Servers were amazing, food didn’t take a long time to be ready and it was pretty busy. Servers kept checking up on our table, very fast service and amazing view and food. Definitely recommend.
Scott was amazing! It was my sons 16th bday and he made sure everything was perfect.
We hand wonderful service and the food was presented beautifully
