made anniversary reservation asked for a view probably got the worst table in the house in the back corner. Will not be going back.
Very nice, we enjoyed our evening very much. Great staff, service and food.
Weather was perfect to sit on the patio. Food and wine was great.
We wanted a nice place for a celebration. I asked for a window table and although there was a sign in the lobby saying there was no guarantee they could honor it, we got one.
The menu was smaller than pre covid, but that is the norm.
Our food was very good and waitstaff very attentive.
Waited for 10 minutes before being recognized. Caesar salid was awful, wilted letuice, no flavor. Scallops were fantastic, Halibut was good but warm at best. Waiter moderately interested in service.
Not following social distance, capacity or mask rules for indoor dining and no fresh air in confined upper back corner. Bar table in aisle for our seating. Most tables large loud groups unmasked. 45 min wait for entree with minimal to no appearance by our waiter. Scallops great, prime rib chewy. Overall not at all the experience we hoped for, counted on really, from S&S. Sadly, we wasted a venture out with a long drive.
Ordered the calamari for the table and was quite surprised when half of it ended up being fried artichoke. Not sure what happened with that but would have liked for it to be noted on the menu as neither of eat artichoke. The crusted prime rib was something we would definitely get again but my bf said the coho salmon fell flat for him. Overall a pleasant atmosphere and our waiter was very attentive.
Went there for my anniversary and received a complimentary dessert. Had scallops, they were really exceptional.
The wait staff was fantastic. The prime rib was a bit chewy and slightly dry even for a med-rare cut of meat.
Dinner was delicious. We participated in the Seattle Restaurant Week Menu and were not disappointed at all. Everything was cooked perfectly and served hot. The chocolate cake dessert was so decadent.
The food was fine, but I as disappointed with the condition of the restaurant. The carpets are worn and dirty and the tables and chairs. are scratched and not in good condition. I had considered bring a group of people but decided against it based o the condition of the facility.
We're always pleased when we go to Stanley and Seaforts, we look forward to the return of the full menu post Covid.
An absolute disappointment. So many people suggested Stanley's so I reserved a window table for my husbands birthday only to be LIED to and told our table wasn't available but there was a seat with "JUST AS GOOD" of a view. (Pics included) We were then sat literally IN THE CORNER with absolutely NO VIEW. Ok, they are busy, I get it seating is limited. Understandable but very disappointing on his birthday. The server we had was very polite but not very attentive, the manager was walking around just filling water glasses and it took 40 minutes for salmon... The bread was FANTASTIC and the drinks were great. The calamari we ordered was swimming in grease, was soggy and partially cold. Our entrees were decent. The salmon itself was cooked perfectly however it was just also SO GREASY. Idk maybe we just came at a bad time (Sunday 6pm) but they really missed the mark on this one. We most definitely WONT be back.
My wife and I will to S&F about 4-5 times a year for special occassions (birthdays, anniversary, V-Day...) and love it. We always get the same thing - her Dejon Chicken and the prime rib for myself. I've tried prime rib at other places and nothing compares.
My husband and I came for our 26th wedding anniversary. Tony had the prime rib with prawns that he said was one of the best that he has ever had. I had the scallops and they were wonderful! It was a wonderful time!
Our food was overcooked. We ordered lobster and it tasted horrible.
The prime rib and the filet
Mignon were VERY DISAPPOINTING.
Have never felt that way before. Always very satisfied before. Meat was bland, nearly tasteless and the prime rib ordered med rare was way overdone. So sad. We wait for special occasions to come here. We left very let down. Our waitress was lovely.
Great food and service!
Party of 6 enjoyed salmon, ribs, fettuccini (with a side of lobster tail) and sirloin steak. All were very good. Two of us were disappointed: the prime rib (not very flavorful) and the wagyu steak (not as tender as expected).
We have loved going to Stanley and Seaforts for years. We are highly disappointed that the menu is so limited. Also, the portions are much smaller. It is still great food and service. Of course, it is the best view of Tacoma as well.
Another amazing night.
Unfortunately the menu changed since the pandemic closedown. Some dishes that I loved were removed from the current menu and the recipe for some of the “old” ones changed.
Out of the four meals my family ordered three were wonderful but I would stay away from the fish and chips. The breading was far too thick and was not cooked all the way through. Once I peeled the breading off the actual fish the inside was soggy and almost uncooked.
The first time here for my wife and I. The restaurant is quite dated nothing special except location. The view and food was good, and reasonbly priced. The service was excellent, with good team work.
It was enjoyable. There is a lot of good local competition for restaurant business near by. S&S will have to step up their game to be a preferred goto establishment.
Food came out lukewarm, the server was not attentive at all. My food was not cooked all the way through. So I was very disappointed, to say the least.
The waitress was very nice. Made me and my wife very comfortable. And I loved the view.
We sat outside, it was a beautiful day. Excellent drinks, especially the passion fruit margarita, and the grilled salmon was lovely. Brussel sprouts were a bit undercooked (hard/crunchy) asparagus perfectly grilled. Creme brulee, delicious as always.
Hadn't been into S&S since before the pandemic, and I was pleased and impressed with the social distancing of the seating, as well as the long-time excellence of the food, service, ambiance, and view!
The food is ok but not priced at its value. Service was very friendly and attentive. If the food was better we could come here more often.
Food was good and reasonably priced but it took over an hour to receive food and our server never acknowledged the wait or offered us any kind of status update throughout the wait.
The food, service, and view were great, so we will be back again. However, we had to sit through dinner listening to a screaming baby and couldn’t carry on a conversation with each other. The place was packed so we couldn’t love tables, but everyone was bothered by it. It felt like they should have asked them to take the baby outside or something.
The hostess was not wearing a mask. The food was good although it was slow to come out & we did get the wrong tables food set on our table, then taken away when we said it wasn’t ours. We did not have masks on at that time. Our waitress was attentive & good, the overall experience was not so much...
My husband enjoyed the experience ! It was his 50th birthday and they treated him like a king!
Ashley, our waiter, gave special attention to our 12 year old granddaughter on her first night out in her formal dress and high heels. Great experience.
Food was excellent. Interior needs an update......
This restaurant might have been great at one time but it seems like it’s been neglected. The bar area smelled like dirty mop water and the entire place looked like it has seen better days.
The restaurant is advertised as a fancy place but the menu choices were very dated. The Service was mediocre and the food was just ok. The quality of food did not match the prices.
The view is beautiful and the cocktails were great. I recommend going for a drink at sunset for the view and going elsewhere for dinner.
Haven’t visited in a year. Met with family for the first time. Food and service was fabulous. A little price but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.
Though running late for the reservation, the restaurant made it hassle free once arrived. The selection of drinks and availability of food were excellent. Tables were spaced far enough for a more intimate dining experience with a beautiful view of downtown Tacoma! Will be back soon!
