Stanley & Seafort's
The only real issue I had was that the restaurant was virtually empty and they seated a 6 top right next to us with 2 screaming and coughing children. That in itself took away from the whole experience.
Service and food was excellent. Looking forward to our next night out at Stanley & Seafort’s.
My favorite restaurant in Tacoma! I have been going there for 20+ years. I think I’ve tried everything on the menu at least twice, LOL. The Wellington meatloaf is to die for! The Broadway pea salad? Unbelievable! And the Keylime pie is the best you’ll find anywhere in the world.....
Celebrated my husbands birthday. We enjoyed the food and the view. Would recommend and even dine there again.
We were disappointed that the menu has been changed since we were last there. There were fewer
choices, especially in seafood. There were no fresh halibut dishes, one salmon dish. We ended up ordering
beef. The meat was well prepared and so were the potatoes but the sauteed vegetable medley was a disaster. Some of the vegetables were overcooked and dried and others ( brussel sprouts) were raw.
We had a lovely time. Service was a bit slow and my steak, while cooked perfectly, was a bit cold. But I will definitely continue to go here. I would love to see more local beers on tap. Tacoma is full of wonderful breweries.
Great place, sweeping views of Tacoma. Delicious food and drink, with impeccable service. This is a repeat!
My husband took me out to dinner for my birthday. From beginning to end the service, wait staff and food were exceptional.
The food was substandard and the service was very mediocre. We ordered a salad a burger and the time it took to get out to us, and the quality was not good.
We went for Sunday brunch. There are 3 eggs benedict choices. The california benedict was generous with the avocado and skimpy with the crab. The standard benedict was very tasty. The blueberry muffin french toast is enormous, tasty, and rich. It is batter-fried, and comes with blueberry topping and whipped cream. Husband had the prime rib hash with carmelized onions and arugula. He couldn't stop eating it! The view is outstanding. We definitely will be back for a happy hour and watch the sunset.
Arrived for breakfast at 10:30 on a Saturday morning and had the whole place to ourselves for at least an hour. The view is spectacular and food is very good.
Friends in town
Specialty long Island ice tea was a failure x2 attempts. I gave up and had gin and tonic.
My initial order of the special salmon dish was tiny, overcooked, vegetables salty. Cucumber salad dressing on hot plate was runny. Whole plate was not pleasing looking.
As always Stanley's makes it right. I had a great salmon with beau Blanche sauce, asparagus and mashed potatoes. All cooked properly and not salty. This was not on the menu but should have been.
Too bad it took 2 trys before I could enjoy my meal.
We have been to Stanley and Seaforts for many special occasions, despite not living in the state. Every time has been an excellent experience. The food is always good, the service is great, the view is beautiful, and if you are military it is even more worth visiting. Highly recommended.
Food was wonderful, waitress was perfect, view is very nice.
When it comes to special occasions I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
We snuck in at opening to avoid traffic and have a nice meal. Our server, Lonny, was fantastic. She was attentive without being intrusive. We had the Chicken Dijon and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli. Both were very good. Our favorite Pea Salad has changed over the years, and while it is still good, having whole peapods in it made it less flavorful in our opinion. The sides of mashed potatoes and spinach were also good, but again, not as flavorful as in the past, requiring extra seasoning at the table. The focaccia bread, Key Lime Pie, and Lemon Sorbet were as fabulous as always. S & S is still among our favorites, and we plan to return again in the near future.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner 3/2 evening arriving for our reservation at 5PM. Were seated immediately at a window table with a view of the city. The restaurant had a signed card at our table. We were served a complementary dessert in honor of our 63 RD wedding anniversary. Luckily the weather was good. The service was good also. We had Mac nut Mahi and scallops with Brussels sprouts and risotto with mushroom. Because we wanted to have a special dinner for our anniversary we picked Stanley and Seafort’s. There a lot of good restaurants in the Tacoma area. The only complaint we had was on their web site they have a 3 course dinner but that is no longer available. They told us they would remove it.
Dined early Sunday evening. The only real issue was that the items my husband and I hoped to order were no longer available, obviously they were popular. Our 2nd choice meals were very good. I ordered my standby Seafood Louie and it never disappoints.
Outstanding food and service. Very friendly people.
We took guest out for the Leap year special menu & was very disappointed. By the time we ordered the prime rib special we were informed there was none left.
3 people in our party of 4 ordered from the regular menu & I ordered the salmon on the special. Luckily we ordered starters & I ordered the Lobster bisque because the salmon & vegetables I was served was so dried out it was almost uneateabl.
Otherwise all else was fine especially the deserts & service was great.
Stanley & Seaforts is one of our favorite go to restaurants & we will be returning in the future but this experience will be in the back of our minds.
Our first visit and we had especially great drinks a wonderful dinner and desert. The view was nice and service was outstanding. Only thing I'm sorry about is that we hadn't gone sooner!
