Great food and great service!
Although our server was polite and professional most of our food was disappointing. The clam chowder unusually watered down. The braised short ribs were dry and difficult to chew. All of the vegetables were soggy even the supposed “crisped” Brussels sprouts. The bread pudding was extremely dry and was served hardly lukewarm. I guarantee it was not fresh. The only decent meal was my husband’s which was the wagyu sirloin.
Great food , perfect place to have a special dinner for special date.
Stanley & Seafort is great. However on this night, the waitress was slow and the table next to us were extremely loud with lots of profanity. Would hope that the manager or wait staff would ask them to tone it down. There were children present. Great food but they need to keep control of the floor.
Our experience was perfect. We were lucky to get a window seat and the city and port of Tacoma provided a great view. The service was excellent. David our server did a great job. We had the meatloaf Wellington and it was excellent. A wonderful evening.
Always one of our favorite places to go. We always receive good service and delicious food.
We went for my birthday dinner on 12/3/18.Rob our waiter was excellent and super nice. We had great food and the experience was fantastic. All the employees really took care of us!!
Went there for my birthday dinner. They noticed it was my birthday and gave me a free dessert of my choosing. They took a bit long to come around, so we ordered everything at once to make sure we didn’t have to wait that long. Food was amazing!
Because of the other reviews and other dinners I've had at this restaurant I came in with great expectations. What was interesting was the appetizers were great and the vegetables on the entree were some of the best I ever had. It was the protein on each of the orders. The crab was dry and stringy. My medium rare steak had very little pink to it and my wife's medium steak was closer to well done. Maybe it was an off night but it will be a while before I go back.
Matalin our server was fantastic. She was very understanding with my 87 year old dad. This was the first wedding anniversary after the passing of my mom. She made it very special and was able to help him through it with compassion and care.
Always an outstanding time.
We selected this restaurant at random so we had no idea what to expect when we got there. The atmosphere was wonderful for a date night or celebration so we took a seat.
My wifes calamari wasnt to her taste but the staff was so amazing we frankly forgot about the only negative. When our main courses came out, the peppercorn steak and the chicken tortellini, we were in heaven!!!
Definitely would go back and have even the same experience over again it truly was wonderful!
Thank you adam for endeavoring to make our night memorable!
We went at opening and had no clue what to expect. Immediately upon entering we were blown away by the general ambiance.
The staff was respectful and knowledgeable -- 0 complaints.
The food was absolutely divine. Well worth the money and crafted to where every bite brings you utter euphoria.
This place is truly fantastic and I would recommend it as such to anyone looking for a new memory that will put all other restaurants to shame.
Have not bee to Stanley's for a couple years. They still got!
We were apparently the party in the black hole that night!
They tried to seat us as another party (of 5) there were 6 of us and we had reservations for 6.
They apologized and comped is an appetizer. We went back to the lobby and waited another half hour. We were seated and ordered drinks and appetizer, another half hour. We ordered dinner and waited about 45 minutes. We were then informed that we were being comped dessert because of our service. We ordered dessert, another half hour and there were hardly any other diners left at that point. Another 20-30 minutes to get the bill!
That being said, food was good, but not much choice for vegetarians.
I would suggest a reservation for this restaurant if it’s a concert/theater night. We had one and our hostess did a great job seating us 10 min early. Food was delicious. Best lobster bisque I’ve ever had. Husband loved his filet with a generous portion of crab on top. Waitress was very nice but either too busy or a little scattered as we waited 30 min for bread. Great atmosphere and view at night.
Expensive but worth every penny, we had a phenomenal time
We arrived 22 minutes early for our dinner which was scheduled at 6:45 PM. We waited and finally at 6:55 PM they came over to let us know there was a slight delay and they would get us back shortly. They offered a free appetizer for the trouble when we would be seated. Another 40 minutes went by and we were finally seated. Because they seated us so late not only were they out of all sorts of stuff but the only meal I could eat was not available. They did compensate us for the appetizer, three dinners that were not what we ordered and dessert. It took a total of almost 3 hours. Food was partially cold on appetizers and dinner. It was the first and last time part of my group will ever go there. Very disappointing. The only saving grace was the waitress was wonderful. The manager never even came to see us or apologize like we were told he would do.
Been a favorite of mine for years. Great food and fair prices. Service was very slow tonight. 1.5 hours for the entree to be served.
The only thing we didn’t like was the lighting was off. Otherwise it was great.
We love Stanley & Seaforts and drive down from Everett a few times each year. The food was awesome but my wife was somewhat disappointed with only a single page menu. Our waiter explained the reason why as we had never eaten dinner after a show. Thank you again for making our evening special with great food and a great view!
What a view! Classic Tacoma! The food was exceptional and the service great. It’s one of our favorite restaurants. Enjoy!!!
Excellent waitress. It was so dark, we had to use our cell phone to read the menus.
Our food was excellent and the view is incredible. It was nearly a 5 star night, save for the long wait for entrees. Thankfully our server noticed that my dish looked overcooked while bringing it out and took it back to the kitchen before presenting it to me. Both the server and the manager came over to apologize. The wait to get the replacement was lengthy. I appreciate our server being proactive and they took care of our dessert to make it right. Overall, great night. Just took longer than expected.
Your lighting needs work.
Our table had the brightest recessed bulb in the room and the color temperature did not match. I saw one round table near the window was nearly completely dark. You have a dysfunctional light over the man and moose painting.
Another note about the decor, you have a stick-on 3M hanger on the wall where the windows are overlooking Tacoma. It looks cheap and tacky amongst all the nice wood.
Our wine glasses had spots/water stains. Do you not teach the staff to wipe the glasses before setting tables?
The bread in the sampler needs to be toasted a bit and would be better off with a better quality bread.
The turkey dinner and the prime rib dinner were great.
The pecan tart had bacon in it. YUCK! The ice cream had melted and we were expecting the tart to be warm. How do you get melted ice cream on a cold tart when it’s served? David brought us a new one that didn’t have bacon and the ice cream had not melted. Much better.
David was very nice and professional.
Something is wrong with your billing. When David brought us a new desert he also brought a new check. The new check had two desserts but, also a Celebration line item of -$9.00. Both checks had the same sub total of $159. The new check was a few cents more due to your POI calculating the living wage tax not calculating based on the correct sub total.
The ability to reserve a table online for Thanksgiving makes it so easy to choose Stanley and Seaforts for our holiday feast. We were seated by the window which made me so happy - I love being able to see the city and waterfront panorama. To top it all off, the food was excellent - I am very picky about how my veggies are cooked and the spinach sauteed with carrots and onions was buttery and delicious!
Along with other special occasions Stanley's has become our families go to place for Thanksgiving.... no one stressing in the kitchen trying to time dinner, just a nice relaxing meal where we can all sit and enjoy each others company. My only suggestion would be to improve the lighting at a few tables. Our table was especially dim and we needed to pull out our phones to read the menu. It won't have been a problem for a cozy romantic dinner just a tad challenging for a few of us older folks. Overall, love this place!
Excellent service with spectacular menu. Food was impeccable and fast. Atmosphere as sophisticated and vibrant.
Very nice Thanksgiving dinner. It has become our (wife and I) routine. Serving portions generous enough to provide take home leftovers. Always nice for the day after Thanksgiving. Professional and attentive staff.
Absolutely delicious turkey & steak feast for our Thanksgiving family get together. The bird was moist, tasty and plentiful with mouthwatering traditional sides. Of course the fillet mignon was perfection. Desserts were best examples of chocolate decadence cake, pumpkin cheesecake, pecan tart, and death-by-chocolate martini really is to die for! Our terrific server, Leilani, completes this special memory.
Our experience was spectacular! Late evening visit just to grab a quick bite so we would not mess up the kitchen before Thanksgiving. Our server was attentive, the Lobster bisque was phenomenal, and our steaks were cooked to perfection.
Fabulous! We love Stanley’s, our go-to for events like birthdays and anniversaries. You can never go wrong with what you order, everything tastes fantastic with beautiful presentation. Liesel is so professional and attentive. It was quiet when we were there, 4:30 pm on the evening before Thanksgiving, usually it’s louder. Love this restaurant and a beautiful city high on a hill view to enjoy as well. Go!
This is our favorite restaurant in the Tacoma area. The view is outstanding, the food is always perfect and the service is always excellent, just fast enough and just slow enough to always gives one time to enjoy the meal. I highly recommend it to any on for a special occasion of any kind.
Sat in the bar for dinner and loved the upbeat waitress and food before Fleetwood Mac concert!
Great views. Prime rib was extremely fatty (even for prime rib) and not very flavorful, but the filet was tender. The check came with an incorrect charge ($7 more than shown on the menu) that the waitress had to correct.
Leilani our server was excellent, she said and the food made our night memorable
Service was horrible. Soup was cold. Dinner only had a taste of salt. Waiter brought out wrong check. Just an overall horrible experience for what I though might be an upscale meal. Do not recommend
Absolutely fabulous. The food was simply amazing. Really, the best meal we’ve had out in a long time! Our waitress was so great, and funny! We loved her!
Jessie was outstanding and considerate. Wonderful birthday meal for my wife. We always enjoy our visits to S&S.
