My date mentioned the restroom “ looked like original condition” . We were sat next to a large group that was pretty loud. Otherwise a nice place to eat
My wife and I get there about every six months - birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. Have also taken out of town guests there. We absolutely love it and the view is one of the best.
Stanley’s always provides a consistent experience. Food is always tasty and the service is always excellent. Great hidden gem in Tacoma!
This was our first time at S&S. Every point there made our wedding anniversary just PERFECT. Thank you SO much!!!
The only criticism I have is with the French Onion Soup.It was overly sweet.
Wife and I had a great time. Looking forward to the next time.
Was a 13th birthday for my granddaughter and the staff made her feel special. Great food, great service and of course the views on a sunny fall day!
I've been drinking and dining at S&S for 36 years. It's a great place for dinner on a weekday evening after dark when the crowds who often fill the place have departed and the view is filled with the lights of the city. The food (steelhead and prime rib) was excellent as was the unhurried service. With winter coming on I look forward to visiting S&S more often while the ambiance is most pleasant.
The food was great, but service was only acceptable. When in that environment, I should not have to ask for refill of coffee and water, as well as spoons for dessert.
We came to your restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and a birthday. The food was good, with the exception of the kale that was part of one of the meals ordered. It was so tough, it couldn't even be cut with the steak knife. Two of us ordered prime rib and although it tasted good, it looked like it had been put under a broiler to reheat. The server was very nice but our food took a very long time to arrive between courses - 30-40 minutes each time. We have been to the restaurant before an have never had such slow service or food we couldn't eat.
I have been a member of the club for many years and feel that things are going downhill. I used to bring business groups of 8-10 people to lunch, now they do not offer lunch. One of the draws was the way they served the chowder, putting it together at the table. Now they do not offer that. I used to love the Soup of The Day, now not offered.
They used to bring bread out at the beginning, now we needed to ask for it. I used to know most of the staff, now I do not recognize anyone.
I noticed a new Manager was present, but he never came to the table, nor did he say anything as we left even though we walked right past him.
Brought my boyfriend and his Mom for her 75th birthday brunch/lunch. Loved the variety of meal options, and we were given a table by the windows. Her dessert was comped without being asked, which was really thoughtful. The waitress was very attentive and gave great explanations for the specials. The food was all amazing, and the strawberry/basil soda I tried was really refreshing. I highly recommend this place for the food, the service, the attention to detail, and the ambiance.
Great atmosphere and ambiance. Good for special occasions only. Portions are relatively small for what you pay. Expect your bill to be over $100 for 2 people.
This restaurant is great in every aspect. The view is stunning. The service is excellent from checking in to the wonderful table service. Ask for Jessicca. She is so welcoming and gracious. The scallops we ate literally melted in your mouth. Excellent wine list as well. This is a special place for special occasions.
They have a very good reputation for being a great seafood restaurant. Based on this experience I would highly disagree. For as much money as I put down here, I expected more. I got a coho salmon with asparagus and mixed veggies no butter. You'd have thought the only thing they gave to season with was butter. My salmon was dry and tasteless, I could have made it better (and cheaper) myself. Same with the vegetables. No flavor whatsoever. The Wagu steak was good but nothing amazing. The crab was super stringy. The Wagu beef teriyaki was good flavor but very fatty and chewy. The server was VERY unatentive. Empty water glasses did not get filled for 30 min at least. The pumpkin cheesecake was exceptional though... Melted in my mouth. The ambiance was so dark that I could barely get good pictures or see the detail of the food. I will not be going back. For the price of this dinner, I should have been satisfied. But It wasn't.
Stanley & Seafort's has been our favorite for almost two decades. Our birthdays are usually celebrated here. That means it'always great. Service (Michael) was outstanding. Attentive! See you next month for My birthday.
We were seated quickly and our waiter came shortly after and took our drink order. He was very amiable and professional. He is our favorite waiter at Stanley's. We had the filet mignon and the tortellini. Both were excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly as was the pasta. I finished with a piece of pumpkin cheesecake. Scrumptious!
The seared ahi and prime rib were okay. They were boasted as being great meals but let us down. The decor looks original to the '81 opening from the worn seating down to the wall paper in the bathroom. The view was spectacular and helped to create an entertaining evening laughing about how over rated the place was.
Spent years in Alaska and dined at Simon and Sieforts regularly. Stanley’s measures up quite well with Simon’s. Prime rib was perfect. Wife’s ravioli was incredible. Thursday date night menu was outstanding value. Great service, great atmosphere.
As always, Stanley's is one of our "go-to" date night restaurants. The service is always wonderful, the food delicious, and the ambiance low-key - perfect for a night out!
This was my fiance and I's first time being here. It was fantastic. Seriously one of the best meals either one of us have had in quite some time. I am not sure when, but we will be returning.
Our water Mark was wonderful. Food always good!
I had heard great things about this place, so I guess my expectations were too high. My wife had the prime rib, I had the braised short ribs, and we shared the baked brie appetizer. The baked brie was delicious, I really enjoyed it. My wife's cut of prime rib was very fatty and the au jus was very salty. My braised short ribs were good, but the sauce was too sweet and the brussel sprouts were not trimmed properly and not cooked completely. They were also not roasted like the menu said. Perhaps I'm being picky, but if I'm paying $30-40 for a plate of food, it should be near perfect. It wasn't well-balanced. Overall, I'm glad we went, but I don't think I'd go back since it is so pricey and I've had better meals elsewhere in Tacoma.
I guess we expected more. The service was unimpressive, the bathrooms had dirty paper towels on the floor and the garbage was overflowing, grafitti, etc. - definitely due for a remodel. We were served more by our bus boy than our waiter and he was not particulary what one would expect at a high end restaurant. The entree salad sat in water. Anyway, we were a little underwhelmed by the whol thing.
overall I feel this restaurant is over rated. Pacific grill's ambience is way more impressive, However their food is great. This is a happy hour store. Their lobster is really good.
We thoroughly enjoyed their “date night” prime rib dinner which is offered every Thursday. The special dinner at an affordable price was great.
First time visit on a Thursday and the date night menu is well worth the price.
Tasty food, timely service, easy parking. So many tasty choices on the menu = difficult to limit to what I can actually eat.
My pork chop was full of fat, my wife salad was over dressed.
Loved it, drinks were good and the food was faboosh!
We enjoyed our meal there for my wife's birthday. The food was good, service was great and the ambience and view was nice.
We don’t come in often because it’s a bit expensive, but we are always impressed. This was our 4th visit and it was incredible. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and we were able to slow down and enjoy each other and great food and drinks.
Our waitress was amazing. It was our 43 wedding anniversary. She made it special. The food was ok
Prime rib overdone. Halibat was spicy. All in all it was a good experience.
Went for our anniversary. Got a window seat. Very nice. Waiter recommended a couple a specials. I had the scallops and they were great. Wife had seafood fettuccine and was very happy. Lots of seafood in the dish. Only draw back was I brought a special bottle of wine and the waiter seemed a little put off by it.
2009 Duckhorn 3 Palms. Great bottle and I even left half for him to try.
Highly recommend going here
We can for our anniversary. Good and service was amazing.
It had been at least 5 years since our last visit. I suggested it to our friends for the location and food. I was so embarrassed, our friend ordered the 10 ounce steak. It was so tough he left 1/2 on his plate, my halibut was dry and overcooked. We frequent fine dining often. However we won't come back .
This was our first time there and we loved it. The service and food was outstanding. We also loved the view that we had as well.
Average rating due to slow service and high noise level. It's difficult to carry on a conversation. Drinks before dinner came way too slow.
Chris our server was excellent but the bar couldn’t keep pace (delayed our drink order). Food, as always was excellent, view incredible and dessert a true delight! We love dinner at S&S!!!!
Next time we will ask for our steaks to be a less done then we actually would like them. They were a little overcooked
