Wonderful service...wonderful view from every seat. The food was outstanding! The key lime pie might just be the best ever!!
Even though we had a reservation, it still took 30 mins to be seated . Waiter was a bit distracted, took long to get our drinks. It was a very busy Thursday. The four of us all ordered prime rib, 15mins later we were politely told they ran out of it. Ribeye steaks were substituted for the same price. Meal was okay, not outstanding. Wish they had better dessert options, and stuck to their reservation list and didn't overbook. The lobster bisque was exceptionally delicious. Dining room is way too crowded, should be reduced by several tables. That's one reason I have second thoughts about returning.
The food was excellent and so were the drinks! The scallop dish was one of the best ever!
We were celebrating our anniversary and both ordered the Blackberry barbecue steelhead. Amazing. Stanley’s is my ne of our top favorite Tacoma restaurants!
...the chef salad and fruit cobbler listed on the fresh sheet, were deliciously outstanding! Brittany our server was great as always.
We had a reservation for 6:30 and the table we had requested was still being occupied, so we were asked if we'd like a bar seat for appetizers, which we accepted. Hostesses were all great and calamari was too! The view is very nice as well. (However, we did miss the water front restaurants.) The lobster was cooked to perfection for my husband but the clam linguine I ordered with the shrimp, the shrimp was over cooked. I had asked, when we ordered dinner, that we would like the cobbler.....However, that took a long time to get and was told several times, "it was in the oven." When it arrived at the table, it wasn't warm at all:( The taste of it was good. The entire dining experience took over 2 hours. Good thing it was date night with no restrictions on time!! Due to the higher prices for the menu and it being our first time dining there, I would have expected nicer dressed hostesses and waiters, clean carpet, linens on the tables and candle light and possibly re-upholstered chairs. The restaurant, in a whole, could need a renovation to bring it current in style and time period, lol. The restrooms also need lots of updating as the age of the entire establishment could use a huge facelift. All in all, if I hadn't received a gift card, I probably wouldn't have visited. Yes it would be a place to go and refer friends to, but we will be trying other nice restaurants before returning. There really isn't a dress code for customers....I even saw superman!!!!
Food had all the possibilities to be fantastic but everything was bland. Needed some seasonings or flavour of some sort. Mildly disappointed for the price.
Excellent dinner experience. Excellent food and service. The view is sweet! Decor is nice.
Our only turn off was the basement parking and ominous warnings about car break ins. It isn’t as nice an entrance as the front.
The waitress was very pleasant and offered suggestions. The entrée ordered by my wife was too spicy, and while she could scrape the pepper from her halibut, the remainder of her dinner was not edible. My fettuccini seafood entrée was very good if not a bit short of "seafood". The view was incredible .
Thursday night was our 49th anniversary, so we wanted to go out for fine dining without paying an exorbitant amount for two meals and some cocktails. Stanley & Seaforts has a 'Date Night Special' on Thursday nights, so we thought this would be worth a try.
I made reservations for 7:30. Unfortunately when we arrived the restaurant was very busy and we had to wait until 8:00 until we were seated.
Our waitress was very friendly, but I had to ask for the 'Date Night Special' menu. It was not an option when we were seated and given menus. Then we were told one of the appetizers was not available and the prime rib entree was down to either medium or well done. This denotes to me that all the prime rib may have already been pre-cooked. Not acceptable.
The desert menu had two options, but one of the options was not available, so we were given the opportunity to substitute 'black berry cobbler'. We were satisfied with this until our waitress came back and told us the cobbler was no longer available.
One more thing. I did order an additional cocktail, the house bourbon with soda. I thought $10 for this drink was way too expensive.
On a positive note, my wife had the tortellini entree and said it was excellent. My entree was also quite good especially for the money.
Stanley & Seafort's was great as always. Not really enthusiastic about their menu changes.
We came here for the first time in our 27 year marriage and it was phenomenal! Food and service were excellent!
Stanley and Seaforts is an icon in South Sound dining - what more do I have to say? Everyone's driven I-5 for years and seen that sign emblazoned on the hill above them. Take the plunge and dine here - you will not be disappointed.
The menu rotates to keep it interesting, but keeps the staple items I expect. The French Onion soup is a the one from which all french onions should be judged. Cocktails are eclectic and take advantage of local fruits and berries.
Staff is always friendly and spot on.
Stanley and Seafort’s is our go to dining choice on our anniversary. This visit was as great as always. Great food & so was the service. Thanks guys for a fantastic evening.
The food and atmosphere were great for celebrating a Birthday with the family but service we felt was slow. We were there for 2 hours PRE-dinner hours. Also the prices are way up there, each meal was $29 per person for the early dinner special otherwise you are looking at roughly $35 per person.
Our reservation was on spot. Had to wait 30 min but that’s fine. The waiter started with “ pat benatar concert in town, were out of prime rib but will substitute rib eye for the same cost” it’s not about the cost but would like a good meal. Made us feel like since we weren’t concert goers and the rush was prior to our arrival we were getting left overs. The meal was awful. Steak was grizzle and fat and unchewable. Veggies were lifeless and overdone. Manager was working the room but never came near us. Waiter offered to “box up my meal” if I can’t eat it here I can’t eat it at home any better. No substitute was offered, paid for 1 subprime meal and desert and that was it. The view from our table was 5 dead plants 🙃
Beautiful restaurant and setting. Our group all tried the daily fish selections and were very happy. We shared the Key Lime Pie for dessert and it fabulous!!
The lobster bisque was very good, the entree's were mediocre, dessert was good, service was excellent
This is one of my favorite restaurants and I've had better meals here. My mom and aunt had there meals arrive cold. My 5 year old niece had her grilled cheese over cooked. One of the best things about this restaurants is the view. It's amazing.
Had the prime rib wasn’t has seared and salty as I was hoping
Our waitress disappeared for a while for an emergency call but she was very apologetic about it when she returned. She even gave us a chocolate cake for dessert which was a delicious surprise.
Bartender even made me a strawberry lemon drop.
we will definitely be returning.
Great wait staff, excellent Rime Rib, great value for the Healthcare Workerspwcial dinner menu! Will definitely be back soon!!
Our food was delicious and we had a great server, but, unfortunately, a couple with a baby were seated right behind us. The baby began to cry and cried through our entire meal. I was very compassionate towards the parents, but... We felt that we had to hurry and scarf down our food so we could leave. This was a special occasion and we chose Stanley & Seaforts to celebrate. We love Stanley & Seaforts, but were disappointed on this visit.
We enjoyed a nice late meal with sunset and a bottle of wine for their fixed price date night special - Thursdays!
Everything was great! We sere seated promptly and had a wonderful waiter with great wine advice. Our food came promptly and was absolutely delicious! We really enjoyed our evening!
wonderful service and atmosphere. the manage is stellar! go!! its beautiful and the food awesome
20 years ago this was the go to for romantic meals with my wife. But the food has not improved and the service was not great. Our meals were bland and uninspired (except the fingerling potatoes, which were great and the creme brulee that was burnt and horrible). The server asked if we wanted bread and then we had to ask for it again 20 minutes later when it had not been delivered. The food is decent, but not worth the price.
Our waiter was Jose. He was awesome! Our food and beverages came out at the right time. The only thing that wasn't great was the veggies. Just bland. But that was the "worst" part. Definitely suggest it to anyone! Keep it up Jose, you're awesome!!!
There were 5 of us celebrating 4 birthdays. We had the Thursday night date night special. The roast beef was great but the mashed potatoes were cold. We got 2 free bottles of wine, choice of Cesar salad or lobster bisque, and because of the birthdays everyone got a dessert. Otherwise it would have been a shared dessert (burnt cream or key lime pie with lemon sorbet.
FIRST OF ALL OUR DRINKS WERE WRONG. WHEN THE WAGYU STEAKS CAME, MINE HAD A HAIR IN IT. MAKE NOTE...THE KITCHEN STAFF DOES NOT WEAR HAIRNETS ALTHOUGH AFTER THIS THEY PROBABLY SHOULD START. I MADE THE RESERVATION A MONTH IN ADVANCE AND A TABLE STILL WASNT AVAILABLE AND HAD TO TAKE A TABLE IN THE BAR. NOT HAPPY, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT WAS A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.
Wonderful food and Service as always at Stanley and Seafort's.
My wife’s birthday. Service was excellent as usual. Appetizers were great. I bought the lamb. It was disappointing. The portion was tremendous. The quality so so. Encuusted in Stover’s stovetop stuffing. Tough. Well done on the ends and raw in the middle. As one of the priciest items in a place that usually gets beef right I was surprised. Potatoes were excellent Fava beans were poorly executed. We will be back. I probably will not order lamb.
The service was spectacular! Food is a bit pricey, but we enjoyed our brunch celebration.
We were very disappointed with the food. We have visited Stanley and Seaforts several years ago, but this was our first visit in a few years. I don't feel the food was prepared well--the prime rib spent time under a heat lamp, and it was evident. Fish was very fishy--did not seem fresh. Service and ambiance was pretty good, but we will not be back (at least for another several years.)
Drinks on point!!! Appetizers amazing! But when dinner came not impressed. I got the seafood salad and the lettuce was head lettuce and not what i was expecting at all! Our service was so wonderful.
Overall, great value. Will be back often.
Food, creative and local. Great thought went into flavor combinations and presentation. I should have asked for my halibut to be a bit on the rare side.
Service, ten stars. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Our server, Andrew, made sure we were well taken care of.
Ambiance, pure SnS. Just like the one in Anchorage. Comfortable, traditional.
Noise, not noticeable.
Food quality varied widely; some was very good, some was only adequate. Pricing on most items was a little high, although it's understood that you're paying for the view. Beverages were surprisingly reasonable by comparison. Service was friendly and informed if a bit sporadic. Facilities and decor need some updating (including basics like painting/staining of woodwork) so that the physical environment matches the view--which of course is the main attraction.
We had the crab & artichoke dip to start. It came out hot and had a good ratio of crab. For dinner, I had the Prime Rib. It was delish, however the veggies didn't scream freshness, the multicolored carrots appeared grayish and the mashed potatoes were a little rich for my taste. My husband had the pork chop and cleaned his plate. We finished with the Key Lime pie, it was wonderful and fresh. Only down side was the furnishings, the tables appeared worn and dated but in mostly good repair.
it could have been better
