I had dined here previously, and wanted to introduce my friend to this restaurant. The service was outstanding, our waiter was informative, efficient and extremely helpful with explaining the lunch menu.
I think his name was Jason, and he made our lunch experience exceptional.
I will return soon.
This chicken strips are amazing but the rest of the food was pretty bland. Even the salad was tasteless. The butter for the bread tasted old
I had invited two co workers and their spouses for dinner. The service was spotty, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. The chef’s special was mixed grill - the fish was dried out, the prawns were too chewy like they had been cooked in a microwave, and the presentation was not enticing. The waiters brought us items we hadn’t ordered. The food took a long time. The bill listed items we hadn’t ordered, and when we asked the waitress about it, she said that’s what the chef’s special rings up as. Not great service for a $250 bill, won’t be back.
Everything was great. Food and service was great. Our waiter Nate was very entertaining.
Great patio seating. Very attentive service. Food was delicious, kitchen split plates for no additional charge!
Great atmosphere, good food, excellent service. This is the restaurant I've been looking for since I moved to Contra Costa county! They cooked my filet mignon perfectly, and the garlic mashed potatoes were awesome. Thank you guys!
First time eating here for Father’s Day. Not much of a selection from the Sunday brunch menu. I had the Fork and Knife artichoke crab sandwich. There was barely any crab so it was a disappointment!
My husband’s fish and chips were good and my son liked the prime rib sandwich.
They had a kids menu which truly catered to my picky grand boys!
Service was very good!
A few years ago we came alot for the Bloody Mary Sunday brunches, we brought a couple families with us as well. Stanford's removed that feature and now restarted it. But its not the same there were many options for the Bloody Mary bar then and now its more simplistic. Miss this feature!! Bring it back FULL on! And we are there.
Been going for years. Consistent high quality food and service.
Food was good, but service was slow. We had to wait very long after finishing our meal to get the check and get the dirty dishes off the table. Couldn’t get the attention of our server for way too long
Service was good. Quality of food did not align with prices. Steaks were thin (and tough)
Service was outstanding. Food and drinks were prompt, and very good.
Great food! This place is not just about steaks, they have great fish, martinis and desserts. Definitely surprised by how great the food was and we had great service.
Table of 4 adults. We each ordered the prime rib, medium rare. We got the old cow, none could cut through the meat very easily. The green beans were over cooked, the mashed potatoes were a solid unit not fluffy. I’ve eaten here before and it was always good, not sure what happened in the kitchen m. Wait staff was good.
Good quality food and drinks. When I lived in the area, I visited quite often for the value. When I went back this time, everything was as it was before except the service which was top rate, from the hostess to the bartender and server. The manager also stopped in a couple of times to make sure our table was being taken care of.
Always a solid experience. Especially when you eat in the bar! Girlfriends have been getting together here for over 15 yrs!
Quiet and private ambience.
Great service and food.
Truly enjoyed our dinner.
Definitely coming back.
Will be back.
Great place to eat. Food was delicious and staff very friendly.
Appreciate changes to the menu, but we miss your salmon pasta dish.
We requested a table vs a booth and were told they were uncertain about giving us a table as there were so very many reservations that evening. It was 5 pm, no one else was in the restaurant and only a few other customers came in as we finished our dinner. I estimated there were about at least 50 open tables. Why, on earth, we were told a table would be a problem is beyond me and I count that as poor service. We received a large salad after ordering a small one and an extra salad order which we had not placed. The dessert was barely edible, an apple cobbler with barely baked apples, overly sweet and a very dry crumb topping. I was tempted to send them my recipe as theirs was awful. Would not recommend Stanford's. Also parking is on the street and scant. We parked only because someone else left.
The service was outstanding.
We had dinner here to celebrate my daughter’s graduation. It was a party of 12 and we arrived early. The venue was gracious enough to accommodate us early. We ordered drinks (fountain drinks, cocktails and a bottle of wine). We ordered appetizers and entree’s. My favorite was the walnut crusted brie but the calamari and artichoke spinach dip were also great - we ate it all! Their steaks were delicious. Baby back ribs were tender, chicken was well seasoned and the sandwiches were tasty. Nothing disappointed. We had dessert - cheesecake (huge portion), creme brûlée and chocolate cookie w/ vanilla ice cream. The cheesecake was awesome!
The best part was the service...our server was attentive and I was especially impressed with Hope great he was worth the two children in our party - most don’t take the time to make them feel special. There’s an automatic 18% gratuity on parties greater than 8 - I tipped more than that because he deserved it. We’re definitely coming back.
This is a good place for families whom have small children. The kids meals are a very reasonable price and you get so much! I really enjoy the customer service service here too. I will be coming here weekly with my family.
We went to Stanford’s for Mother’s Day. The food and service were generally quite good, though slower than I have experienced before at this restaurant, probably because of the holiday. I am giving four stars instead of five because my pork chop was fattier than these usually are, and the restaurant mistakenly reported to Open Table that I was a no-show when I was only 5 minutes late due to major construction around their site that required a large unanticipated detour to get to their door, and I told them that.
Been a Stanfords customer for a long time but have not gone as much because of the messed up parking. Have a handicap preson and it is difficutl to park near the resturant.
I was a little disappointed in the service this time it was slow to get waited on for our order and the Ribs were tasty but I prefere ribs that stick to the bone and are not preboiled.
I made a reservation. I arrived and was greeted with a smile and seated promptly. The food was hot, pleasantly presented and great tasting. The drinks were mixed well and nice on the palate.
Lovely Mother's Day brunch. Food was very good and service was excellent. Stanford's is one of our favorite restaurants.
Special Menu selections for Mother's Day brunch were diverse and phenomenal...we each had a different entre' after a Bloody Mary and a great Spinach Artichoke appetizer. The Grilled Pork Chop with lightly Garliced Whipped Potatos and sauteed Vegetables were incredible, highlighted by a perfectly cooked-as-ordered juicy Chop on the bone; classic Eggs Benedict perfectly done; and Veggie Frattata so light and flavorful it melted in the mouth. A perfect Mother's Day had thanks to the staff, and particularly our Waiter Demetri, who took great care of us. Definitely looking forward to another visit. Thanks for making the day special and memorable for my Mom!
Had brunch at Stanford’s on Mother’s Day. There were a lot of empty tables there which was surprising considering their reservations were full.
Food was ok, not great. My mom and I both ordered the Eggs Benedict. All the eggs were cold in the center....refrigerator cold. Biscuits that were served with the other 3 orders were very dry. Cinnamon rolls that were served as an appetizer were small, dry and tasteless. Stanford’s has a full bar...I ordered an Irish Coffee with my brunch and the waiter told me that they do not have Irish Coffee....I was a little confused by that as they have a full bar, but ok.
As one of my guests at brunch was finishing up the last few bites of his meal, with fork in one hand an a piece of bread in the other, the waiter reached over to take his plate. Didn’t even ask if he could remove the plate...just reached for it.
All in all it was a very subpar experience.
We were a party of four. Great experience. Very professional staff. Very good food and plenty of it. Good wine list. One of our favorite Walnut Creek bistros.
I had an amazing time there with my family for my b'day. They staff was nice and patient. Our server was Dan Or Dale (I'm bad with names forgive me) was awesome. The chefs special was delicious! Great recommendation by our server! It was a great 1st time visit definitely coming back
We're regulars at Stanford's. We love the food, and we love our favorite waiter, Dan. He knows what we want almost before we do. He makes recommendations that are always brilliant. There's something indescribable about feeling at home with Dan and the entire staff of Stanford's. You can bet that we'll be back there soon.
Good food, generous portions, attentive service, nice ambience -- an enjoyable dining experience.
My husband’s birthday
Miranda was a great server, very customer service oriented. Food was perfect as ordered and delicious. Ambience was very good as well.
Our waiter sal made it all worth while! He was terrific!!! What a great server!!! The food was fantastic!!!
We went here for an early dinner before hitting the freeway. It's a very lovely place and the server was very nice, but service was very slow. Our dinners were so-so. I had the fish tacos. They had a salsa on them that I did not like at all. They were pretty flavorless. My other two friends had salads and weren't impressed. Perhaps the full, prime rib dinners, etc., are better, but I won't go back to try it.
We were very disappointed with our latest dining experience at Stanford’s. I am temporarily using a wheelchair, we had to park a block away and then go around the block to find their front door. Other doors were locked. We were seated in one booth after I scored out of my wheelchair. Then we were told that we would have to move as we were debating whether to order from the main menu or the Happy Hour Menu. Next we were asked to move to a third table; this is quite a challenge for me following my recent foot surgery. So, we again moved! Our food was not very busy old. My clam chowder soup was much too spicy and very thin. My husband’s salad was not tasty. Our sandwiches were not very “up to par.” We have eaten here before very recently and enjoyed our meal. Is there a new owner or chef? We were just so disappointed! The management needs to know about our dissatisfaction with their seating staff and food. Our actual server was very nice.
Great service, very diverse menu, everything we tried was good, nice wine list. Dessert portions a little enormous!
