Stanford's - Tanasbourne
We went out for a steak dinner. The steaks were great, perfectly cooked and very tender. The service was excellent. We enjoyed our dinner out and will definitely be back.
Having been a customer here for many years, it seemed on this evening the overall experience was sub par. The wait staff was decent, but the food was honestly terrible. I do not say this to complain, i share to offer a development opportunity to the staff to focus on the quality of service to remain competitive. The food was not worth the money. It seemed the cooks may have been overwhelmed this evening, lacking flavor, and the quality stanfords typically has.
We've been going to Stanfords for close to 30 years and really enjoy the happy hours and dining room dinners for special occasions. We had reservations for Valentine's Day and ordered a single cut of prime rib to be split between us both with a dinner salad, also to be split. We've done this previously, and everything was perfect. Our server, Carinda, has waited on us many times in the past, and we always know that she is the best. The kitchen obvously takes pride in their work and presentation and drinks from the bar are always great.
It was my birthday so my husband and I went there to celebrate. We had a lovely time! Our waitress was wonderful! She even got me a complimentary dessert! Our food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing and romantic, since it was Valentine's Day too! We enjoyed our evening very much!
The food and service were excellent as usual. The only negative was the noise level when a large group came in the room. They were very loud! Other than thT, we had a great lunch!
Took my wife out to dinner and we had a great time at Stanfords. The server was very friendly without hovering, food was on point, and I had an amazing port to end the meal. It was a great time and other than some teens at the next table being a bit loud and discussing sports injuries in detail- we enjoyed it a lot. Can’t control the teens and everything else was great!
I have been a Stanford's fan for years. However, this latest visit was disappointing. I ordered the filet mignon steak with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was a good cut, but almost flavorless. The mashed potatoes were flavorless. The broccoli was flavorless. The Irish coffee I ordered with dessert was barely warm. I have eaten many times at this Stanford's location; this is the only time I left dissatisfied.
When we lived in Beaverton, Stanford's was always a dependable dinner option. Happily that hasn't changed. My wife enjoyed her fried oysters, and I had a Mediterranean style pork chop. Server was very helpful with suggestions.
Excellent food and service
The food was wonderful and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Drinks came soon after arriving and water was always kept full. Service was good, could have been alittle quicker, but still good.
Called to confirm corking fee before arriving, was told there wasn't one. Waitress was great until she saw we had a gift card then tossed it on the table & said they dont take it. The bill had a $13 corking fee. Very dissatisfied.
A choice of sides, vegetables and /or rice would be nice. Bread of some sort and dinner salad or soup would be good also. The ribeye, mashed potatoes, and broccolini served were quite good. The meat was rare as requested.
The service was good as it was kind of busy.
We were there on Christmas Eve and the prime rib wasn’t ready. Entree (steak) came with broccoli with no sauce or butter, mashed potatoes were almost cold and wouldn’t melt butter which I had to ask for, and were crusty on top.
We had a nice lunch there and we stayed visiting for over 2 hours
We always enjoy ourselves! Great food and service!
Perfect. Good value for money. Would do it again!
Stanford’s saved our Thanksgiving after our oven decided to stop working THANKSGIVING MORNING. I promptly made a reservation for the evening and our family didn’t miss out on an amazing turkey dinner.
The service was excellent. The turkey was moist and well seasoned, and the stuffing was probably the best I’ve ever had. I’m tempted to make coming here our new tradition. Good job, Stanford’s!
We had a lovely Thanksgiving meal - the traditional turkey meal was very good with generous portions. Other menu items were available and were tasty too
I love going here for holidays. The food is always fantastic, as is the service.
Special holiday menu with great service and friendly staff. Good value for holiday or everyday dining.
Onion rings appetizer were very very cold! Waiter couldn't get one of our drinks right - simple Tito's martini in a bucket with olives. 12 oz prime rib didn't even look like prime rib. Mashed potatoes were also cold. Won't be going back there anytime soon!!!
Not what it once was. Seems to have gone downhill with both service and food quality. Always willing to pay a bit more for a good meal but I would recommend you look elsewhere.
Rarely do I go to a restaurant and my expectations are surpassed. This is exactly what happened at Stanford’s restaurant Tanasbourne. The greeting at the door Hello Abby set the stage for a perfect dining experience. Our waitress, Hello Fabienne, introduced us to a Stanford’s restaurant that we didn’t know existed. I always thought of Stanford’s as a decent quick bite before a movie but now that has changed.
Waitress Fabienne made this visit special. She has all the knowledge of the menu that you would expect and she knows how to use it. Fabienne visited with us about the restaurant and served us a complete experience, not just a meal.
With a new Head Chef, Hello Chef Lopez, your vision of food is greater than a prefixed menu. the lobster bisque is delicious.
Stanford’s is a go to restaurant. I do recommend this restaurant.
Good food, good service, good company. We had a great time.
Sold our airplane!
Had a very good wait person. Food was good. Had a reservation and was seated promptly.
Delicious seasonal salad, great service ~ we had a great time. Love 💕 Stanford’s.
Always a good option when in Portland area.
It was a pleasant evening. I would not order time rib again it was too well done and not very flavorful. The hunk of garlic bread with the Cesar salad was not very tasty.
Ryan is the best server ever. He makes every visit a treat. Sandy is also very much loved by our family. Stanford’s is one of our favorite dining destinations because of the service!
Great lunch as usual! Thanks
It was great! Vanessa was a wonderful server!
I went to dinner with my wife and her 90 year old uncle. We had a nice dinner. Both my wife and her uncle ordered the filet and they were cooked correctly and were tasty but by the time they arrived to us, they were not longer hot. We did mention this when we received out bill and they did take 20% off but our waitress did not check on us once after delivering our food. We remain fans of Stanfords and this was a relatively minor issue.
Food was good however the item I selected from the specials menu wasn’t available. I thought that was odd but the server worked out a compromise for me. We then waited over an hour for our meal to be served. I like this restaurant but definitely not our best experience.
We were seated within a few minutes of our reservation time. Service was very good, good was excellent and received a free desert for our anniversary.
We were out with friends and Vanessa was our server; She was great and made great suggestions for wine pairings and dinner selections. The food was great and we had a great time with our friends!
Had lunch (Soups) with a friend and they were both problematic. The Broccoli Cheese was like eating a hunk of lukewarm cheese, the Broccoli wasn’t cut up & was not thoroughly cooked. The Barley Beef did not taste fresh and was like eating thick mush (my friend said). Seems both Soups lacked a Cream or Broth base (or perhaps they were leftovers poorly revived. To boot, the older lady at the front seating was curt and lacked inviting hospitality. I wont return for lunch.
