   I cannot say enough great things about Stables. The quality of food and service is unmatched. This is the best dining in Terre Haute hands down. Our server Jonah was very knowledgeable on each dish and it’s unique ingredients. His recommendations were excellent. ** For leaving reviews - You can’t leave a review while you’re still at the restaurant. The app uses geo-location. If you’re still there, it thinks you’re still dining and won’t let you leave a review. **

   Went with my 80 year old parents to celebrate birthdays. The service was awesome! The food was good but will say it is $$$. I was asked about the ambience -I have to say dark! Our reservation was at 4:30pm and still bright out however when we walked in it was like really dark and the lights were so high they barely provided assistance. The floor was slanted (it was an old barn) and I couldn’t really see that but ended up stumbling in. I feel like it took us 15 min for our eyes to adjust. Reminded me of an old cigar bar but with out the smoke. My father struggled to walk confidently to our table. There was a step into our section too and with black floors it added to the visibility and comfort of getting seated before tripping.

   We celebrated our 45th anniversary. Everything we got was wonderful and we appreciated our anniversary being recognized with Prosecco and dessert. So nice and yummy! Our server, Cameron, was great!

   I have been to Stables several times. It is usually an awesome dining experience. This was very good but honestly didn’t compare to any of the others. Our food came out prior to finishing our salads. Almost seemed like they were in a hurry. It won’t deter us for a return visit.

   As a Steakhouse the filets were not prepared to right temperature. One filet was re-done three times and still not right.

    Steak was suppose to be medium rare and it was well done. Prime rib was 50% fat and hard to cut.

    This was our first time dining at Stables. We had the meatball appetizer which we found to be absolutely delicious! The food is definitely on the expensive side, but the amount and the quality of the food were well worth the cost. Definitely a place for special occasions.

    a little carried away with the atonal jazz, of course Im not a big fan of off tune off beat jazz anyway , but everything else was excellant. had the filet, they cook them a little on the longer side(medium rare had no juice flowing) but quality meat is unmistakeable. the service was super. Price? well if you want out cheap goto mcdonalds.

    We've been here few times over the years, but last night was definitely the best experience we've had. Peter was our server. He was patient and very kind. He helped explain certain dishes to help us decide on what meal we wanted. Could not have asked for a better experience. Will definitely ask for Peter again next time we dine there.

    Excellent experience for "fine dining." Would definitely return, but the 95 mile drive one way was a bit much just for dinner. It was a special occasion and if in the area, will return. Great service by all.

    The food was not up the normal quality. Steaks were just good. Too much seasoning (rosemary too strong). We were celebrating an anniversary, no mention from the waiter. Just disappointed.

    The restaurant being in the former stables where the tables were located in the horse stalls was very unique. The food is a little pricey but as good or better than other restaurants in the fine dining category. The service was way better than other comparable restaurants. This will be our go to place for family celebrations.

    We went a day early for our Valentines dinner, and the dinner was excellent. Jeff was our waiter and he did an excellent job also, we both had fillets, and they were cooked to perfection. our salads were great, and our shrimp cocktail was great. We also had crème brûlée and bread pudding, which topped everything off. Excellent job by all the staff.

    Good experience on 12 Feb 2023 - waiter was attentive, good very good. The only drawback is cost; I knew that from past dining. We dine occasionally at Stables, keeping cost in mind - average steak cost is $65ish. We did enjoy our experience on 12 Feb.

    If your looking for a good steak and great atmosphere, Stables is the place you want to eat at and enjoy with a significant other or a group of friends. The service is great and the waiter/waitress is very knowledgeable and prompt.
