Stable Cafe -Biltmore Estate
The convenient location next to Biltmore House, friendly hospitality, and delectable food make the Stable Cafe a popular stop after visits to the house and gardens. And the ambiance of the historic surroundings in the renovated stable complex is unmatched.
Enjoy lunch specials like the Stable Cafe Sampler of spice-rubbed smoked ribs, pulled pork barbeque, and herb-roasted rotisserie chicken - truly a barbecue lover"s delight! Sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, fresh salads and irresistible desserts round out the daily lunch menu.
Biltmore tickets or an annual pass are required to visit all restaurants on the estate.
We were seated immediately. Waitress shared with us the specials of the day. She also shared her favorites and why. Very timely service.
We had a very delightful time dinning with at the Stable Cafe! Excellent food and service!! We will return!
We very much enjoyed our food, the atmosphere, and our waitress was delightful. A wonderful Mother’s Day lunch!
Was not allowed to use my Biltmore Annual Pass due to it being a "major holiday" for lunch discount. This was proven untrue after talking to a supervisor later in the day.
The Stable Cafe shines with its convenience to the Biltmore House and the phenomenal service that the staff provides. They sat us early as we arrived 30 minutes before our reservation. The food was really good. I gave it a Fair for value because you are uncharged for the convenience of eating on the estate, but it is worth it not to have to take the time to leave and then have to wait in line to come back in.
Beautiful old stable with booths what were once stalls. Ironically elegant! Food was very good. Short rib sandwich was excellent. Sampler platter tasty and feeling. Great service!
Our waitress, Susan, was excellent! Warm and friendly and very good at taking care of our needs. The special of day (rib sandwich) was excellent!
Great place for lunch. Seated immediately with our reservation. Service was quick and very attentive. Our salads were large and delicious. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere.
Aliitle pricey for the lunch menu. Very cool with a.c. and fans. Service was fine
Very fun experience. Waitstaff was excellent, food very good. Nice to be able to take a break from the tour of the mansion, have lunch, and return for more tour. Nice wine as well.
Ambience is fantastic, food was delicious and service was vary attentions.
Convenient to stop in after touring the Biltmore Mansion.
We enjoyed our lunch at the Stable Cafe after our self guided tour of the Biltmore. The atmosphere was different(it used to be the horse stables) & the food was excellent. I had the paprika rubbed chicken breast, which was tasty & tender. My husband had the pulled pork, also excellent. Service was good. My only issue was that our seats were over an air conditioning vent do it was cold.
Delicious food and superb service in a very busy restaurant! The setting is fabulous - it is inside what was once the Vanderbilts' mahogany-stalled stables with the carriages stored overhead. Amazing how well it works as a lunch place now. It is noisy though.
Party of 6 with a reservation; arrived on time, seated immediately, ordered drinks & arrived quickly, ordered food, time to wash our hands then food arrived soon after. 6 different entrees, all looked excellent, no one had anything negative to say about the food! Would go back again given an opportunity.
Arrived early was seated right away. Food very good. Staff Very Helpful.
Request a booth (although NOT the one next to kitchen) to reduce noise.
Quality/taste of food (burgers and pulled pork very dry and forgettable) has been consistently declining over the last year.
Given the high volume of diners the service is very efficient.
Decent experience. Nice server, and very cool setting. I had a sampler that included ribs, pork, chicken, beans, and corn. The favors of the food was pretty good, but it was very very dry. Loved the smokiness of the ribs, but it was bone dry, like it'd been in a warmer for while. The corn was also extremely overcooked. I didn't bring it up to our server because we were pressed for time. Also, I am an annual pass holder, and would have liked to use my discount, and I forgot it, but the server should have asked. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. Each place I purchased throughout the property asked for it. Overall, I'm not a person who tries a place once. I'll give it another go at some point, and hopefully this can improve.
Food was excellent and our waitperson was outstanding! The only negative is that the tables are just a bit too close together.
Great place to eat when visiting the Biltmore Estate.
Great place to eat while at Biltmore. Bison burger was great, although a little undercooked for me. Atmosphere is fantastic
My muffuletta sandwich was excellent. Service was excellent. When a friend at my table accidentally tipped over a glass of water which broke, there were 2 workers who were there immediately. Very impressive.
However, one of the members of my party ordered chicken with Swiss chard who got a severe case of indigestion that he thinks was doe to the Swiss chard. He was told the next day by a person who was a cook that if Swiss chard is prepared in overheated oil that it can go rancid. Unfortunately, mt friend will always have a negative memory. As for me, it was delicious.
Everything about this restaurant was fabulous.
Our server, Leslie was very nice and personable! We enjoyed the meal and setting!
Excellent service! Very attentive and accommodating. Food was delicious! So neat to eat in the old stable area. Highly recommended when you visit Biltmore.
My wife and I have always enjoyed our food at the stable café. This time however it was a different story.
The first hostess we ran into out in the hallway wasn’t rude but she wasn’t very friendly either. She did not act like she was trying to be helpful. Really poor attitude.
We ordered the smoked wings as an appetizer. They came out about 60 seconds before our sandwich so the manager had to take The sandwich and fries back to the kitchen. We shared the Carolina pork barbecue sandwich. It was more bun than meat - Very disappointing.
Maybe We will think twice before eating there again. At this point in time I would find it very hard to recommend it to anybody. We also have had a poor experience at Cedrick’s.
Finally, we had a really poor server. She never came back to check to see if our food was acceptable, to refill drinks. And, she asked my wife if she wanted an ice tea to go. My wife said that she would take one but the server never brought it back.
Very disappointing visit. I would’ve expected much more for an upscale café like the Stable.
Excellent quality of food, I particularly enjoyed the special Easter menu.
We were quite disappointed with the Easter lunch we had. Last year we had fantastic lamb chops, the best we ever had. This year they were not on the menu so we settled for the barbeque lunch. Chicken, pulled pork and ribs. The meat was ok, the corn awful, potato and cole slaw, mediocre. And we ordered a flight of white wine. Two of three that I ordered were not available, even tho they were on the menu. How do you run out of your own Biltmore Estate Wine? So he gave us two others in their place. Be aware a flight is little more than a couple sips, rip off. Also, no discount for being a member that day because it was Easter. They can do better there...you get charged for every little thing, you would think they’d show appreciation for members...
Best pulled pork I've ever had! Great drinks too!!
The Stable Cafe is the most affordable restaurant on Biltmore Estate. We eat there several times a year. The chicken salad (superb!) and burgers are outstanding, and the "barbeque" (I think they mean barbecue) is also very good. The roasted chicken is OK but unmemorable. We haven't tried the fish, which seems overpriced. The service tends to be good to excellent. It's also the only restaurant in a space that existed in the Vanderbilts' time, and it's cool to eat in booths set into "horse stalls." Recommended.
Loved the setting. Because of the rainy day, we finished our tour earlier and asked if we could eat lunch one-hour earlier then our scheduled 2pm reservation. They said yes very quickly. Staff were very friendly.
We were seated quickly and had the nicest waitress ever! Our food was really good and was served quickly. They even had a large gluten free menu. Great experience. Would definitely recommend going if you visit Biltmore.
A little pricey, but happy with many GF options. Early lunch so not crowded or noisy. Feast for two reasonable for large variety of food. GF Hazelnut Raspberry Mousse dessert very good.
Excellent menu, although it could be improved to provide more non-red meat options. When we discussed this with our waiter- who vigorously agreed with us and had the manager come over to discuss more options for the menu. A few minutes afterward, the executive chef came out and spent a good bit of time with us, which was both delightful and helpful. We would anticipate the menu will be more inclusive sooner that we may have ever imagined. Will definitely be back again!
Nice sit down area for the masses. The menu is somewhat limited, but tasty. We were seated in the loft area upstairs, which does not hold the same ambiance of the stable area.
This was our second visit to the Stable Cafe. We had enjoyed the meal and decor before, so we had made a reservation to follow our Biltmore house tour.We checked in an hour ahead of our scheduled time as we had completed our house tour, hoping to find an earlier opening. Greeted warmly at reception and advised that we could dine earlier. Very charming and friendly server. Food was delicious and served in good time. The ambiance and setting is lively encouraging visions of its past history. We will be enjoying dining here again in the near future.
We visited the Biltmore Estate and lunched at the Stable Cafe for convenience. Gorgeous space, and we sat in what I believe used to be a stall. Food was pretty good, and our waiter was very attentive. Reservations are highly recommended as they get slammed during lunch and I saw a lot of people waiting. Tip: you need tickets to the estate in order to dine here.
It seems when you make a reservation and ask for a booth, there should be a booth reserved for you.
This is the third time eating at the Stable Cafe and it has been exceptionable every time. The wait staff are courteous and right on point. At no time are you looking around wondering where your waiter went but you don't feel like your being constantly interupted either. The food was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it. It was hot and nothing was overdone. I would highly recommend eating here while at Biltmore.
The food was tasty and served quickly, nice rolls and iced tea!
