We always have an incredible experience at 801 Fish, and this visit was no exception. We stopped in before the 8:15 Muny show, and every part of our meal was outstanding. The appetizers — calamari, tuna tartare, and garlic Parmesan oysters — were packed with flavor, and the new soft milk bread was absolutely irresistible. I tried the Hawaiian Swordfish Milanese for the first time and have officially found my new favorite — it was perfection. The rest of our table raved about the Snapper special, Branzino, and Lobster Tail Risotto. Our extra dirty martinis were expertly made, and the service was as exceptional as ever. 801 Fish continues to be one of our favorite spots, and we can’t wait to come back.

We first visited Bristol in 1985 , the year they opened. We enjoyed Bristol several times over the years. We moved away in 2009 and just returned to St. Louis area. Bristol was excellent then and 40 years later still excellent. Food and service.

Excellent and very tasty food. The calamari was perfectly cooked, tender and not dried out. The fried bay scallops were a taste surprise, they were very crispy with a sweet taste generally associated with sea scallops, not bay scallops. By this time I was starting to get full so I ordered the shrimp and clam chowder. It came in a bowl covered over with a crust that was baked to a golden color, similar to the crust over french onion soup. This was followed by a cold seafood roll filled with crab, lobster and shrimp and served with French fries. This I split with my wife as we were both getting pretty full by now. The server was very friendly and professional. He provided attentive service without being intrusive. The cocktails were creative and delicious. Next time I’m going to skip the appetizers and go directly to the entrees.

I visited this restaurant for the first time with my friends to celebrate my birthday, and overall, it was a great experience. Our waitress was exceptional—very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. She really went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had what they needed. We started with some appetizers that were quite delicious. We tried fried green tomatoes, spinach and artichoke dip, and brie cheese. Out of those, the brie cheese was probably my favorite, the brie was served warm burr and pecans and came with garlic toast, which was a nice touch. For my main course, I ordered the filet and shrimp. The steak was well cooked. However, by the time my food arrived, I wasn’t as hungry as I had hoped, so I ended up taking some home. I re-heated the leftovers the next day, and I was pleasantly surprised that the steak remained tender, even in the microwave. Although the seasoning was not my favorite, the overall meal was very good, and I'm glad I had the chance to try it.
