El hogar original de Fergus Henderson, el "Nose to Tail Eating", abrió sus puertas en un antiguo ahumadero situado en la esquina del mercado de Smithfield en 1994. El St. John celebra los productos británicos indígenas más destacados y saca el máximo partido de los mejores productos de temporada, a la vez que utiliza técnicas de cocina sencillas. Actualmente, está considerado como uno de los 50 mejores restaurantes del mundo y en 2009 fue galardonado con su primera estrella Michelin. Was really looking forward to eating at St John and the food was mostly excellent but the table they seated us at totally ruined the experience and left a bad overall impression. If you go, you should eat as much as the menu as you can. We enjoyed sweetbreads, marrow, gurnard, middle white, etc. However if they try to seat you in the back near the dishwasher REFUSE to sit there. Yes it’s annoying having all the dishes cleared throughout your meal. Definitely detracts from the experience. However we could have lived with that. What was unacceptable to me was the smell (if you’ve ever bussed or washed dishes in a commercial kitchen you know the smell). It was pervasive by the time we were halfway through the meal and it really ruined the overall experience. I know seats at a popular restaurant are at a premium but nobody should have to deal with a foul odor throughout their meal.

Excellent service with good guidance on choice. Food quality was high with discrete but charming service. A winner: Again.

Professineller und sehr freundlicher jedoch aufmerksamer Service.Top Qualität beim Essen.Hervorragend umgesetzten Konzept mit nicht alltäglichen Produkten die geschmacklich,optisch und sehr fein abgeschmeckt alle Inne begeistern.Hier ist kein Platz für chichi.Alles ist konzentriert auf die perfekte Zubereitung und den Geschmack.Top Top Top und dann noch begleitet von einer sehr umfangreichen und ausgesuchten Getränke- und im speziellen Weinkarte. Für uns zukünftig ein Muss wenn wir nach London kommen

Lovely end of working week dinner at St John. Service was excellent, neither over-attentive or rushed. Menu varied, with a number of specials available too. Good to see long time favourites bone marrow and Eccles cake / Lancashire cheese. Good wine list with number of unusual wines available.
