St. Helena Bistro
It was our last night out in town before moving away. We are going to miss these guys! They are the best!
We have been there a couple of times prior to this visit and to be honest the food was not as exciting as previously. Unfortunately, we had raved to our friends that we were with and we were somewhat disappointed to have brought them. The service, as usual, was wonderful, as are the prices. Not sure on our next visit we will be back.
Nice spot for a casual lunch in the wine country. The place was empty but filled during our lunch which affected the service. Waited half an hour just for some bread but the food was very good and well presented. Great value for St Helena.
Very long wait time for food.
Had a very interesting menu. We had a great watermelon/greens salad followed by empanadas, which were okay. My husband had a fish dish which he really enjoyed. Both waiters were very friendly and attentive. It was a beautiful night and we ate outside and even though it was on the street was quite nice. We would definitely go back again. Keep in mind their alcohol menu only has wine, beer and Margaritas.
This is a great find and value in downtown St. Helena. There were four in our party, and we all were very pleased with the service and with what we ordered. A beautiful early dinner after an afternoon of wine-tasting. We highly recommend St. Helena Bistro.
Best watermelon feta & shrimp salad EVER!
The eggplant parmigiana was great!
Very fast service. A small venue, but worth the trip.
Absolutely awesome! Ate here two years ago travelling thru St. Helena,. Had to come back. Thanks for a great evening.
Bistro is one of our favorite "go to" restaurants in St. Helena. We can always count on excellent service, delicious food and a lively atmosphere. Although it can be noisy when full, it is still worth it. It has good value - try the Shrimp Risotto when it is on the Menu and the Tiramisu is to die for.
A wonderful find for us! Everyone in our group loved their food. We had the best server as well. I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout out.
Food was good but restaurant is confusing. It very much feels like a little Italian bistro but the food screams Mexican. For example, there is only 1 pasta dish and an eggplant parm but when I asked for a recommendation, our waiter suggested the fajitas. There were tacos, chicken
Tortilla soup, and empanadas (very good) on the menu. I ended up ordering a burger (with guacamole on it) and it was pretty good.
Service was great, drinks were good, and I think the server said there isn’t a corkage fee if you bring your bottle.
Overall good experience, in a cute little downtown (close to Orin Swift tasting room) but I don’t know if we would go back; there are just too many great places in the area.
I really want to like this place.. it's in a cute neighborhood, downtown St. Helena, but the food quality just isn't really awesome.. it's okay, it's decent.. but I'm afraid there is no pizazz and it doesn't go much beyond serviceable.
Great Caesar salad and homemade gnocchi
Excellent food and service
Wine list is limited —-. If you are looking for higher end wine
This is my favorite restaurant in St Helena.
I really love this place, it is so quaint. The food is unique, delicious and consistent and the service is exemplary!
Our dinner was delicious! Everyone agreed!
The service was quick and friendly, food is good except for the calamari (very bland).
The waiter was nice and suggested food for our kids. Aside from my taco salad, the food was not great. Chicken and fries for the kids was super ouly
Can't wait to return. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Daughters 30th Birthday
Menu is overpriced for the quality and taste of food that you get here. Besides it’s convenience, I wouldn’t go again. The ambience was strange and I feel like the Bistro doesn’t have a great sense of identity. Especially considering their menu is all over the place and the basic / bland art and decor is all over the place as well. The server was wonderful though!
The best burger in town!
Great locals restaurant. Always delicious and friendly.
We had an amazing meal with fantastic service. Can’t wait to go back
Great food. Service was outstanding. Went there for lunch
Best restaurant experience I’ve had in forever! Loved the food, service. Really everything! Will definitely be back!
This is a neighborhood gem, owned and staffed by locals who care about the experience. The menu is large enough to have some appeal for everyone and is reasonably priced. It can get noisy with large crowds, but for the most part, it is so comfortable to carry on a conversation, that it is our go-to place to unwind and debrief the week. The staff is attuned to not rush the meal in any way--very gracious.
Nice to eat outdoors in he sun. Had lunch. Excellent salad with grilled shrimp. Good artichoke. Tasty gnocchi. Not exceptional, but very good. Fairly expensive.
Great service and amazing food!!
Such a fun spot! Loved the building and very on point wait staff.
Overall nice evening. First bottle no corkage fee. No liquor license but serves a variety of wines by the glass or bottle. Food was great!
After driving 40 min we arrived and a handwritten note on the dooor stating it was closed from January 1- 10th. Disappointed!
We made our reservation on Open Table. We drove to the restaurant from Yountville. When we got there, they were closed. There was a note on the door saying they would be closed a few days. We were very disappointed.
Restaurant was closed
We've been here 3 or 4 times and have enjoyed it tremendously every time. We absolutely love the eggplant parmigiana and everyone we've recommended it to has also raved about it. The service is attentive but not overly. All of the dishes we had this last visit were excellent (and I tried them all). We will be back!
Quaint, deliscious food, substantial menu options for a small restaurant and great service!
Great jalapeño burger. Juicy and flavorful. As always eggplant parmesan outstanding! ,
