   We went in for our 1 year anniversary, and as always, the service was incredible. Our waiter was very well informed with plenty of suggestions, and he was great at checking in on us. The food was remarkable, even better than the last time! The ambiance is irreplaceable. We met some intriguing guests sat next to us and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We will be back next year!

   This was not our first experience at St Elmo’s, every time we have been there the food was prepared perfectly to our order, the wait staff and everyone we had contact with in St Elmo’s was professional and amazing, we will definitely be back

   Ordered ribeye steak expecting a juicy steak. It was tough and dry. My baked potato was lukewarm. I won’t be going back for awhile or maybe never.

   I have eaten at St Elmo’s many times and it’s been outstanding. They were way off their game on this visit though, poor waitstaff, overcooked steak after waiting over 2 hours for our food. The manager compensated a portion of the meal, which was a nice consolation, but I told him of my disappointment as I know they can do better.

   Made reservations and it worked out perfectly.Got seated right away.Food was AMAZING.Place is so nice and elegant.Our server was Patrick and he was fantastic.He was very helpful and his recommendations were great.Definetly will be back and highly recommend this place.Hoping to get Patrick as our server again.

   Our service from Phillip was spectacular, he knows how to read his guests and how to chit chat with and kinda owns the table just right with a little humor and back and forth , he made it everything I enjoy along with a great steak

    Andre provided excellent service. He was very responsive, attentive, and helpful with suggestions. Everyone was extremely friendly and the food was fantastic. The restaurant was a little noisy, but it's just because everyone was enjoying themselves. Definitely a treat!

    This classic, one of a kind steakhouse has been around for 120+ years and never fails to be outstanding. The food, service snd atmosphere are just the best. If you have not experienced St. Elmo’s , it’s worth a trip to Indidnapolis to do so!

    David Baird was our server and was outstanding! Shrimp cocktails were great (maybe a bit expensive). As always steaks were tender and delicious. We ate in Tony Hulman room --- memorabilia is outstanding!! We love coming here Indy 500 weekend (starting Thursday). Reservations well ahead are a must!

    Our server Amy was fantastic. Friendly, funny, informative. Paced the meal perfectly. Reminded us of the old days. We sat downstairs in a smaller room…it was the best seating we’ve had in the 20+ years we’ve eaten at St Elmo’s during the Month of May. The Tito’s on the rocks were good & fairly priced, although the olives were tiny. We had by the glass Pinot Noir, very good, but shocker at $17/glass. Bean soup & tomato juice are always favorites. The tomato salad has changed. It was ok. Tomatoes seemed hard, although good flavor. We remember tomatoes/onions and lots of Gorgonzola and no or unnoticeable greens. This had a lot of greens. We wanted a “tomato” salad. The steaks were cooked perfectly, 2 12oz filets. Baked potato left something to be desired. We’ve had better at St Elmo’s & elsewhere. The biggest disappointment was the creamed spinach. Husband loves spinach, me, not so much. But I told him he has always eyed it, so this time we would order. Thought I might like it since it’s at an upscale restaurant. I took one bite and that was it. My husband took a small scoop and couldn’t even eat that. Couldn’t figure out the “cream” part. Was like a solid block of cheese. Can honestly say we’ve never had something at St Elmo’s we could not eat. Didn’t even take it home with the remaining steak, potato (we split one, take one with us) and half the dessert which was the Double Chocolate Mousse. It was amazing. Sorry we shared. Lol. The prices have increased substantially (we appreciate the price of all food rising so understand the dilemma for restaurants). We know it is a once a year special treat. But we truly walked out saying not sure if we would return next year, even though financially we can afford it.

    Table of 4 for business. We were relegated to a table in the basement which wouldn’t have been the end of the world, but then we were also stuck in a corner behind the stairs so it wasn’t very pleasant. Fast forward, servers were great, even the guy who’s first day it was, food was pretty good as well. Not winning a James Beard or Michelin Star, but respectable old place. The real nail in the coffin wasn’t the overpriced food (you’re paying for the history), but the fact that they kicked us off of our table and asked us to move to another spot in the basement just a few minutes after I paid. We were finishing our dessert, one of my guests had gone to the restroom, but they had “a large party” coming in that needed our four person table so they asked us to move. How awkward and weird and inconsiderate, especially since we were probably only going to be there for 10 more minutes. Just terrible experience from the main house staff and management, the new waiter was the only pleasant part and not enough to get me to return and oh $600+ for four people. Go to the steakhouse right next door, been there before and 1000x better all around.

    It's been a while since I last visited St. Elmo's, so I was looking forward to a terrific meal and overall experience. I ordered a beer from a somewhat similar selection. However, before I could enjoy more than a couple sips of the beer, my shrimp cocktail came out. It was tasty and as I remembered. I had the bean soup, a BLT salad and a filet (8 oz.), medium-plus. The soup bowl was filled just over half-way. The soup was okay but a "skin" developed on the top of it, as if it had sat for a brief time. The salad was very good, although a little over-dressed. The steak? Medium rare-to-rare. Why didn't I send it back? Time and, well, it's St. Elmo's and I didn't want to go through the hassle in front of my boss. Once we finished our meal, we may have gotten dessert ... if the waiter hadn't disappeared for close to 15-20 minutes. Too long a post-meal delay. By the time he finally re-appeared, we asked for the check. A disappointing return visit.

    The receptionists were pleasant & timely. Brian was our server. Isaac cleared the table as we finished courses. This is our 2nd time at St. Elmo & we will definitely return. We timed our dinner as a stop from Chicago to Bloomington, IN. Delicious.

    Just gets better each time. Traveled and dined throughout this country and without a doubt St. Elmo’s just gets it. From service to food quality- hands down #1. Can’t say enough how I observed the staff make each guest feel as comfortable as tho they were dining at home. Great people, great meal. Wish I lived closer.
