I brought six of my business associates here for lunch and everyone was pleased. We all loved the old wire factory atmosphere and the food and service were outstanding.
It was a great time
Food was delicious, server decent but the noise in the place was so loud I could not hold a conversation with my family at our table.
We got seated at this terrible bar thing because the table intended for us was held hostage by three-hour squatters. What’s the point in a reservation ? That being said they gave us donuts as apologies which were delicious! The food was amazing as always and I never say no to a papaya mimosa. They’re too popular for their space size.
We love SqWires and go on a regular basis , the staff is always amazing, the bloody Mary bar is GREAT!!!!
Awesome everytime I go 3rd time now will be back. Lived the meat loaf
Went to Sqwires to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of my future sister-in-law with a few friends. We had a lovely time and shared a number of delicious apps: the baked brie (divine), smoked trout, flatbread, and calamari. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting - I've also been here for lunch and brunch, and even held my rehearsal dinner in the event space, so I suppose I am a super fan!
We loved the food, but the service was incredibly slow. We waited more than an hour for our food, even though we had let the staff know that we were on a 1.5-hour time limit because we were eating before a show. We do love Sqwires, and the live music was fun, but the overall experience was not as we were constantly worried about making it to our next engagement on time.
This was our first time visiting and we were truly impressed. It was date night for us with 2 other couples and we all loved the atmosphere, the food and the service.
Kevin was a nice waiter. Square plate Tuesday. Didn't care for the meat on the pizza. Pinot Grigio was tasty.
On a recommendation from local friends we went to SQWires before a matinee at the Fox Theater. Sunday Brunch was almost as awesome as Hamilton! Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar was so fun! The portions were just right. Daughter loved the Egg Sandwich on a bagel. Wife had the Traditional Breakfast and I had the Biscuits and Gravy on top of scrambled eggs. It was so good and amazing and the ambiance was perfect. Can not wait to come back!
What a neighborhood gem to have found coming from out of town. Great setting, great food and an outstanding Sunday brunch.
We had a party of 7 and everyone's food was great! The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was unique. Reservations were easy and our table we was ready when we arrived. Wonderful experience overall.
I really enjoy Sqwires for the food, the music, and the ambiance. But, on this occasion I took my entire family for Easter breakfast. I was truly disappointed in the seating arrangement I was given. Having made my reservation quite some time ago, I didn't think we would be stuck in an add on table in the back corner of the restaurant. It was by a door, it was cold, and my family couldn't remove their coats. Having went last year where we were seated in a nice dining room with a round table, this was a massive disappointment.
My family of eight enjoyed an Easter brunch at SqWires. Everything was perfect. The building is a very upscale industrial look with a very large fireplace in one corner. The food was very good. I had the smoked brisket hash and it was delicious. But I think it was the expansive Bloody Mary bar that really stole the show. I would highly recommend SqWires.
We were 2 couples, we had reservations and were seated promptly when we arrived. Wait staff was knowledgeable and timing was good. The setting is a really nice vibe, casual but ok for a special occasion. Funky eclectic décor. Bathrooms clean. Among us we had the seafood chowder, chicken special, and cous cous. I can't remember the 4th order. Everyone thought the food was really good except for me, I had the cous cous (vegetarian). It was ok, but nothing special. We also shared some fresh oysters and shrimp which was really good. There was some live music, but it wasn't that great and it was really loud, on top of the already loud dining room. All in all, I would go back for sure. Probably order something else.
As always, the people are friendly and the food was good.
Everything was great, the only thing lacking was the service. I am not sure if the young lady was just over worked, or what. We sat there without water or wine a few times as other staff members walked by. Out of the ordinary for SqWires!
Friends in town visiting and we met them for brunch. Everything was excellent.
I don't leave a lot of reviews but feel inclined to do so here. We were in St. Louis for a weekend get-away and had heard good things about SqWires for brunch. A few notes:
- Bloody Mary bar is out of this world. Hands down the best I've ever seen. The Bloody Mary itself is huge, so you may want to split.
- Our server messed a couple of things up but they fixed it. They didn't play games or lie or anything like that. They approached us professionally and handled it well. They owned their mistake and for that I give props on the service. Cmon, we all have a tough day at the office.
- If I was going to complain about anything, the skillet had no flavor whatsoever. Sounded like a good dish but I wouldn't order it again.
If I lived in St. Louis, I would definitely go back for a 2nd time, even given an average to below average first time.
I celebrated my birthday with some friends and the food was awesome! The service was great and the ambiance was perfect! I even got a delicious bread pudding dessert compliments of Sqwires. I have come here multiple times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner over the years and it’s still one of my favorites in St. Louis.
We like to take company to SqWires when they visit. The menu has great variety and prepared to perfection. This past visit, I had a reservation, and waited 20 mins to be seated. We could see our reserved table the whole time, just no staff to actually seat us. Drinks took over 15 mins to arrive from the bar. Food was phenomenal, as expected. Check took another 20 mins to make its grand appearance and when I asked a question about our charge the waitress was abrasive and intolerant of me. Fingers crossed my future visits are more like my first ten and not this one!
Great food great service great pricing
Has a lovely brunch with friends. Bloody Mary bar is amazing. Menu has options for all tastes. The pianist played lots of old favorites.
Had a good 2nd experience. The noise level was much better @ 9:30 am than my 1st time at 10:30. I'll always try b4 10 am. Wonder how loud it gets at lunch time.☺
Great lunch! Espresso martini was awesome!
Was a great experience. Food and service was excellent
Honestly, best brunch around. The service was amazing, the snack bar was a cute little touch and the food was delicious. I can't wait to come back!
Fabulous food! Best meatloaf I have ever had! Great atmosphere too.
The family style fried chicken dinner is the best! Thursday night music is a great addition
The skillets are small and left something to be desired. On the other hand the brioche French toast topped with strawberries was to die for. Very flavorful but not rich. Also tried the biscuits and gravy, which were well done. You can tell the biscuits is made fresh. The server we had seemed to be annoyed, took a while to get refills on our drinks.
The food was fantastic. The service was prompt and well worth the money.
We lucked into this restaurant by chance. I didn’t know what to expect, but it met all my expectations! Excellent food, interesting and creative food choices, terrific and attentive service. We were even mived to a nicer table closer to the fire place! Will definitely go again. Cool renovations!
Went for a Sunday brunch with my two teenage children. They loved it, which makes me guaranteed a return! The coffee is always good, and I love their mimosas. Service was very slow but that doesn’t change my overall opinion. We love it.
The ambiance is wonderful with the fire burning in the corner. The waitress and staff were very friendly . My French toast and sausage were both a little dry, and the sausage was tough. My daughter's scrambled eggs were a little too runny for her and she thought her sausage was tough also. My husband thought his breakfast scramble was wonderful though.
Great service, amazing food and wonderful atmosphere! Will definitely be coming back!
We each enjoyed our meal. We ordered the Salmon which was cooked just right, not dry or over cooked. My husband ordered the river & thoroughly enjoyed it as well. My some had the pepperoni pizza special (w/out the pepperoni, lol) & he said he could have eaten two. Management came by to be sure we enjoyed our main course as well. We splurged & had the flourless cake, (divine), the strawberry bread pudding (very generous portion) & the adult hot chocolate (which was a little strong for me but I finished it just the same). This will go on our short list for when we are in the area.
Veggie lasagne was excellent
Incredible food and presentation. Live music was fantastic and very nice.
Best brunch in town. They have an amazing bloody mary and mimosa bar. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced!
