Sqwires never disappoints. Best ambiance in the square.
Food was fantastic. It was a Wednesday evening nice band at the right level so we could still talk.
I enjoyed everything about Sqwires. The atmosphere, food, and bottomless mimosas.
Great tacos ! Mark H was very personable and attentive. On the fish and chips dish, the fish was a little soggy for me, but still a good flavor.
We have enjoyed SqWires for years and this was honestly the first time we have been disappointed. But it was a great disappointment. My chicken was barely done and tough. The risotto was gummy and broccoli overdone. My husband's pot pie was dry. A friend ordered the pasta that was not as tasty as usual. Service was mediocre.
I hope this was a one time occurrence, but I really don't want to go back in a while.
As always the staff at Sqwires was very accommodating to our grandkids. We love the Thursday bbq and the music by Mayor Taylor.
Normally thIs would be a 5 Star but the food was a bit off this visit. Had the yellow beet salad and the beets had black spots on them. Usually love the veggie lasagna but this time the carrots were actually large thick raw slices making them really inedible in the dish. The other food we had in clouding the pot pie was great. Hoping it was just an off night in the kitchen and next time will be better.
The service used to be better when David B. was working there. The food is fine, nothing special.
Great food! Great service! Great environment!
Went to sqWires with another couple. The atmosphere, food and service were awesome! Can’t wait to go back in cooler weather and enjoy the patio.
We had a brunch reservation, showed up early, and we were ushered to a nice table right away. The service was excellent, and the omelets we ordered were yummy. I loved the rosemary potatoes - well done on the outside and smooth and soft inside. My partner had the creamy grits with his eggs, and he raved about them. We have eaten here several times, and our experience has always been pleasant, so we like to return.
Great place for brunch.
Outdoor eating area a plus.
It wasn’t that the waiter wasn’t good but he had several big tables sat at the same time and the same fr the two top seated next to us was always looking for their waiter so when ours got close that asked him to do things for their table. Plus I don’t think he knew we were seated.
But the other waiters filled in.
Will we go back....YES!!!!
Will we tell people how much fun it is....YES YES YES
Oh the piano was good but loud. Was glad when he took a break so we could talk.
Our visit was to celebrate Father's Day and it was wonderful, everything was perfect from our food to our service and had a large round table that would accommodate our family. We were located close to the pianist who was fabulous we enjoyed his music and personality…Hope to see him again on our return visit because we will be back.
Waiter was slow and not friendly. Paid for mimosa bar and the wait time for a refill wasn’t worth the price. Croissant breakfast sandwich was good but the breakfast burrito was cold, runny and overflowing with beans. Eggs were cold and fruit array was mushy and melon only. Nice live music but for a Fathers Day celebration, it was overall a disappointment.
Service was prompt and attentive food was prepared well tasted great good appearance, great drinks the music provided was more than enjoyable we both had a wonderful time that evening prior to the concert we were attending that night at the symphony
This is a very nice space in a great part of town. Very nice service. Just the food needs a major upgrade, at least at lunch when we were there. Better options elsewhere at the moment.
Was a good place to sit with my girlfriends and have a nice breakfast/brunch, but I was a little disappointed with the food and service. New wait staff was confused on the order, understandable for new employees, but not desirable for patrons to decide what dishes were brought to the table. I chose a vegan meal, which I don't usually eat, but wanted to try something new. It wasn't my favorite, especially for breakfast. Server was not helpful when we asked questions about the menu, and we were ready to pay so they could give the table to the next reservation, but it took awhile for the server to bring our check. Overall a nice place to sit, but the staff was not very friendly (except for the new employee) and I would personally not come back, at least not for breakfast. Maybe just an off morning.
Everything was delicious. Good beer selection. Aesthetically pleasing setting.
Saturday brunch was good. I had the Ham & egg scramble and it was a little dry, so I ordered a side of gravy to go with it. That made all the difference. Piano player could've been a little quieter, but overall it was a nice experience.
Brought my daughter here for her birthday to celebrate with family. Just happened to be on a Thursday with live music and BBQ. The family loved, it the band sang Happy Birthday to my daughter and Mark was an excellent waiter.
The food was good. The online reservation got us seated right away. The server Pat was horrible. He first came to the table, didn’t speak. Turned our cups upright poured our water and proceeded to ask what we would like. Never mentioned his name. Didn’t smile. Didn’t welcome us to the restaurant. Didn’t ask if it was our first time. He really made the experience subpar
Food was excellent as was the service. We had changes to our reservation that couldn’t be avoided and they accommodated us.
Good food. Reasonably priced. Service was good and mostly quick. We were headed to the theatre, so needed to leave by a certain time. Server was respectful of that. Had 30 minutes after dinner before we needed to leave, so ordered dessert. It took 35 minutes for our dessert to come out and had to scurry to make it to the theatre.
I personally love the Bloody Mary bar. We took some friends for the first time. One said the shrimp omelette was the best breakfast he had ever had!
I’ve been here on a few occasions and this experience was definitely subpar. The special was fried chicken which was flavorless and somewhat dry. The sides were decent but by all means, avoid the fried chicken at this place.
Also - they use the same grease to dry chicken as they do to fry pistachios. It’s a risk for those with nut allergies.
Dined with group of ten---and EVERYONE was pleased. That is a rarity.
Lovely patio with very good brunch selections. Love the area and hope to go back for dinner sometime soon.
Loved the place and the menu but they were out of bottled water n sparkling water (st Louis water is brown ) n no rolls just corn muffins - vegan options were good n my friend had chicken pot pie.
It was a beautiful place. Reasonable priced too. Liked it bunches- :)
Nice bar staff a little slow food was great ambience was excellent
Very good proximity to downtown theatre district. Excellent service and ambiance. One dish (seafood stew) was very good but meatloaf was charred and French fries greasy/soggy. Somewhat pricey.
The ambiance was very nice with the gentleman playing acoustic guitar.. at the perfect level! Food was amazing.
The waiter could have been more knowledgeable.. I asked if drinks made with the special sodas were on happy hour and he said yes... it turns out they weren’t and it wasn’t honored. A small glitch because the ambiance and great food more than made up for it!
Good food and good times!
Food was great. Our waitress was prompt but never introduced herself to us. Orange juice tasted funny and had an off odor.
Square plate night on Tuesdays is a hit! Definitely going back.
We all tried this place for brunch. Setting the open table reservation was key with this place that seemed very popular. Great food and mimosas and Bloody Mary bar!
My husband and I enjoyed a nice brunch together after an evening of celebrating our wedding anniversary with friends.
We had a large group reservation and, due to babies sleeping and other issues, our party staggered in at different times. The staff was more than accommodating to our group + little ones. Great, friendly, attentive service and good food. Sitting next to the piano was an added bonus. Thanks for a great experience!
Live music too loud...conversations could not be held.
Server was new and inexperienced...was not eager to please.
Food was just Ok, especially considering the prices.
Had not been there in a long time, and am sorry to say, I was disappointed.
I brought six of my business associates here for lunch and everyone was pleased. We all loved the old wire factory atmosphere and the food and service were outstanding.
