We made a last minute reservation for dinner for my husband's birthday, and every single person went above and beyond in accommodating my requests. I asked that we get seated near the fire, and they gave us the perfect table near the fire. The hostess was so kind in taking care of my 4 year old daughter - bringing her a whole bucket of crayons and complimenting her drawings. Our server immediately wished my husband a happy birthday - in fact he was wished a happy birthday by the hostess, server and manager- and was a brought a complimentary birthday dessert - all of which were way above my expectations, and really made his birthday special. The food was amazing, the ambience was warm and inviting, and every single employee made us feel special and welcome. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Great vibe for a date. Saturday brunch was delicious with bottomless mimosas, live piano music, and a roaring fire. Would definitely recommend.
Service is spotty. Fish for the fish and chips was not crispy or crunchy at all. It seems to always a take at least a good half hour to get lunch after ordering a burger. It's hit and miss with the kitchen.
I went on a date night with my husband. We’d been here for lunch but not dinner. The selection was great and all the food was excellent. Wine was half price and the bottle we chose was excellent. Live music was a bonus.
Took my parents to SqWires this weekend for their first time and they were very impressed, as was I. I love the bottomless mimosas and snack bar provided with bottomless purchase and very much enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The food is different than most breakfast/brunch places but everyone enjoyed the food they ordered. It is a little pricey, so be prepared to spend around $60 for two people on food and drinks. Definitely worth it though.
It was OK. This was the day there was a snow storm, so I assume they were short staffed. But service was slow, our food took a long time to come. My food items were almost room temperature. And I felt that the side items lacked flavor. Not sure I will go back.
one of our favorite places in the neighborhood. we return with friends and family when we ha e the opportunity
Brunch..place was recommended. Great building and decor of an older reclaimed building. Brunch/Breakfast menu limited with really no SqWires specials or difference makers. Unfortunately couple orders were wrong when they came out, which is disappointing that the server didn’t quality control prior to delivery. Seems like a great place to meet friends and family for drinks. To me it would be a better place if they did specials or less focus on vegan this or that.
The food was eh. Was not impressed by the menu whatsoever, but I genuinely loved the setting of the restaurant.
The food and service was awesome!! I will definitely be back.
We enjoyed an evening at Sqwires with the live music (bluegrass) and the wide variety on the menu. The server was helpful in determining gluten-free options on the menu as there isn't a separate GF menu. Great casual atmosphere!
Everything was great, but for an unruly table that we were lucky enough to be seated next to. Table was intended for six people? At various time there were ten to twelve trying to crowd in. At various times, the noise coming from the table was over the top. The host should have never allowed this to happen, impacted most people in the restaurant's dining experience.
SqWires was delicious. The atmosphere was great and the live pianist performed beautifully.
My husband and I went to enjoy brunch on New Year’s Day with our toddler. Honestly, the food wasn’t anything impressive. The staff did cater to our daughters needs and the restaurant had a kids menu, which was nice. The best part of the brunch was the bottomless mimosas and the mimosa/snack bar. Our reservation was at 10am, the restaurant was pretty empty, but staff still appeared annoyed that we brought our daughter. This is a perfect place to brunch for those child free or single 20 somethings.
Our waitress was not attentive to anything at all. I had to have another Waitress Take care of me.
Had a great dinner catching up with old friends. Karen was wonderful and would highly recommend!
Missus and I had brunch on Sat. My skillet was delicious, but her Benedict featured cold eggs. This is the reason for the 3 star food rating. In all fairness, she said nothing at the time, but a nice restaurant like SqWires should really be more careful.
Great atmosphere! Beautiful restaurant, but food and service left a bit to be desired unfortunately. Will try again though.
Staff went out of their way to make our girls night out memorable
Food was delicious
One of the best spots near downtown St. Louis. The food is always fantastic, and their Happy Hour is the best!
We had a group of 10 for our office Christmas party. The seating worked out great for us. Was glad there was no live music that night or we might have had trouble conversing with one another. The waiter was great and the food was outstanding.
The service was very poor. We did have a reservation, but waited almost 25 minutes past our reserved time. The staff didn't offer a complimentary drink or even a seat while we waited for our reservation. The waitress was over-committed it seemed and it took a long time to get refills on our mimosa bar. I ordered the veggie lasagna. It tasted fine, but it was just vegetables with a sauce and cheese on top - it was in no way an actual lasagna - it had zero structure. Also, some of the vegetables were cold. The venue is so unique and inviting, but the food and service just don't hold up to pricing or expectations. It was a disappointing experience.
Wonderful flavors and presentations. Nice variety.
We had reservations for a party of six, ended up by the door despite our request for another location, and what were apparently other tables available. First three choices of beers/ales requested were unavailable. Then two of three desserts requested were unavailable. This was at 6:45 on a Saturday night. Food was excellent but lack of requests became a running joke at our table. I have eaten there in the past and not had any of these problems and will likely try it again but was disappointed for myself and my out of town guests.
Love everything about squires..... food, decor, music, menu, staff
Atmosphere and food were thumbs up. The service was very good as well.
Celebrated a birthday
Great service and environment. We had a large group, and they let us linger and chat. Bloody mary and mimosa bar is a great deal and festive! Loved the pianist, too.
Amazing brunch! Definitely will go again and recommend.
Celebrating the thanksgiving weekend with family and was a great stop for lunch!
We had an 11:30 reservation and arrived at 11:20. We were told our table would be ready within minutes, but were not seated until 11:45. We felt rushed as there was a reservation behind us. Additionally, the noise level was way too high for a Sunday morning brunch. It was difficult to have a conversation due to the loud piano.
I love their weekend brunch with Bloody Mary and bottomless Mimosa bar. The brisket hash and eggs Benedict with Salmon are to die for. Coffee could be better but its just ok, just not strong enough. Seemed to be short on wait staff, but we were not in a hurry and it was ok. Plenty of coffee top ups. Great atmosphere, piano player and tango dancers! Also, has multiple Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten-free options. Always a good atmosphere and is very friendly and accommodating. Next to historic Lafeyette Square and is a fun stroll in the park after a good meal.
The food was deliciously good and great service, we have tried lunch, brunch and dinner and we have yet to have a bad meal.
excellent, creative meal! Kudos to the chefs!! I had the veggie lasagna and my friend had the mushroom polenta - both outstanding!!
Love Sqwires! Such a wonderful place for brunch, but can accommodate any event or reason.
We got seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time and only had an hour for the bottomless mimosas but it was a very nice place. The juices should be labeled because they get moved out of place and some don’t pair very well with the champagne used. The food was delicious and everyone was very kind and helped out when we needed something. I loved this place and would recommend to anyone in St. Louis!
The waiter was fantastic. He knew when to check in and when to stay back. Perfect service.
Birthday brunch for Millennial daughter. In our previous visits the Bloody Mary/Mimosa bar was fun and full of nibbles. This time there was hardly anything on it but a few olives and some cheese cubes. Very disappointing. Came back to the table with literally a plat with a scoop of horseradish and a green olive on it. Maybe it was because our reservation was for 1 pm but then don’t advertise and charge for a full drink bar.
Great as t place for breakfast and the bloody Mary's are perfect!
The food and the service were second to none! Ask for Joe!
