So everything about my Sqwires experience was good except for one thing. THE MUSIC. I don’t begrudge piano players but the reason I like sqwires is because I can actually have a conversation with the people at my table. The live music ruined that this time. If I wanted a loud atmosphere I would have gone to Wheelhouse.
Was excited to eat at a new place. Took FOREVER - an hour to get our appetizer and dinner which was wrong. The restaurant was lightly occupied but was more
Like a bar scene than a date night restaurant. Of all the food the Brie was the most edible. I hate to leave negative reviews but this was not up to par regarding quality and presentation for the prices. for the same price we could have gone to Vindeset.
can’t win them all.
A great selection with many different food choices to satisfy any taste. Pleasant environment making for an enjoyable meal.
We had a noon appointment but ultimately waited 25 minutes to be seated. We waited what felt like an hour for our food to come. It’s a shame that those delays dampened what otherwise would have been a decent brunch. The live music was great and they generously kept the Mimosas flowing.
Great atmosphere. The pork tacos were dry, however, everything else was good. Looking forward to trying brunch one weekend!
Wow!! Fantastic in every way. We went for brunch on Saturday. They had a great pianist playing. The Bloody Mary & Mimosa bar is unbelievable with anything you would want to add to your drink from fruit and olives to cheezits and Swedish fish! Lol! Our table had the veggie benedict, the tofu skillet, the breakfast burrito, the brioche french toast and a biscuit and gravy. Everything was delicious! Fresh, bright flavors attractively presented. The french toast was my favorite.....so fluffy and delicious. Highly recommended. Great service too! We will be back!
Our service provider was slow , but management was quick to pick up the tab for desert and apologize.
The restaurant was my choice for the group. We wAited an hour for our food . When it did come, it was luke warm and not very flavorful!
SqWires has so much potential to be great - the food is really good, the bar service is quick, and the atmosphere and music is truly a good experience. However, in order to actually enjoy your time at this restaurant, you have to come prepared with a very high level of patience. The service is incredibly slow. Food runners stop to chit chat among each other constantly, servers can't communicate with the host to realize when their tables are being sat, and the food takes way too long to prepare for what they're cooking.
We set a reservation at 9am for the soonest available table (which was 1:30pm), as we've showed up and waited for over an hour in the past. After being sat at 1:30, we were approached by our server 20 minutes later, after the rush had cleared out. Our food arrived 50 minutes after that, and the restaurant was empty.
As stated above, ensure you arrive with a high level of patience, and it should be a good experience
We went around 1. They were pretty busy & missing bussing staff, so it took a bit to get our table. There were a couple of
large parties & the kitchen was backed up. Since we weren’t in any rush, timing wasn’t an issue, especially since our server (Mariana, I believe) let us know at the outset that it would take a bit to get our meal & checked back periodically. The menu is a pretty typical brunch menu, with some options for.variations. The noise level was typical of most places these days, with a pleasant piano background. Our table was right by the door, which turned out to be perfect, far enough from the music and not surrounded by other tables to be quiet enough to have a conversation.
Overall it was a pleasant experience & I’d go back again.
What a fun place for a bachelorette party brunch! The Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar was such a huge hit!
Great food. Kind servers. A little slow with service
My wife and I enjoyed our dining experience at SqWire. The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was excellent. We found the renovated factory atmosphere to be unique and very pleasant. Would definitely recommend to our friends when visiting St Louis.
We had such an enjoyable lunch to celebrate Grandma's 91st birthday! The food was terrific, but Karen's service was even better! We will definitely be back!
An excellent way to start the day! Food and service were outstanding!
I made reservations for a birthday brunch on 7/28/2018 and SqWires was very accommodating. If you are looking for a relaxed and classy place for brunch, this is definitely it! I enjoyed the fact that we were able to utilize the bloody mary bar with our bottomless mimosas and the food was outstanding! You have definitely gained a customer!
Delightful time! We were a large group and the service was excellent! We are planning on a repeat trip! Thank you!
Delicious food and great atmosphere! Loved it! Would highly recommend visiting.
Booked a reservation for the brunch buffet. Arrived to find there was no buffet, and the server didn’t even know what we were referring to. The event was posted on the restaurant’s Facebook. Not sure where the disconnect was. Service was incredibly slow. We were seated for 20 minutes before we were able to order. The food was ok. Overall, the experience wasn’t at all what we expected.
This converted factory is the perfect place for an elegant bite to eat. Though we had to wait for a bit, our server knew the menu and her recommendations were spot on!
Great service and outstanding food. I cant wait to go back.
Sqwires never disappoints. Best ambiance in the square.
Food was fantastic. It was a Wednesday evening nice band at the right level so we could still talk.
I enjoyed everything about Sqwires. The atmosphere, food, and bottomless mimosas.
Great tacos ! Mark H was very personable and attentive. On the fish and chips dish, the fish was a little soggy for me, but still a good flavor.
We have enjoyed SqWires for years and this was honestly the first time we have been disappointed. But it was a great disappointment. My chicken was barely done and tough. The risotto was gummy and broccoli overdone. My husband's pot pie was dry. A friend ordered the pasta that was not as tasty as usual. Service was mediocre.
I hope this was a one time occurrence, but I really don't want to go back in a while.
As always the staff at Sqwires was very accommodating to our grandkids. We love the Thursday bbq and the music by Mayor Taylor.
Normally thIs would be a 5 Star but the food was a bit off this visit. Had the yellow beet salad and the beets had black spots on them. Usually love the veggie lasagna but this time the carrots were actually large thick raw slices making them really inedible in the dish. The other food we had in clouding the pot pie was great. Hoping it was just an off night in the kitchen and next time will be better.
The service used to be better when David B. was working there. The food is fine, nothing special.
Great food! Great service! Great environment!
Went to sqWires with another couple. The atmosphere, food and service were awesome! Can’t wait to go back in cooler weather and enjoy the patio.
We had a brunch reservation, showed up early, and we were ushered to a nice table right away. The service was excellent, and the omelets we ordered were yummy. I loved the rosemary potatoes - well done on the outside and smooth and soft inside. My partner had the creamy grits with his eggs, and he raved about them. We have eaten here several times, and our experience has always been pleasant, so we like to return.
Great place for brunch.
Outdoor eating area a plus.
It wasn’t that the waiter wasn’t good but he had several big tables sat at the same time and the same fr the two top seated next to us was always looking for their waiter so when ours got close that asked him to do things for their table. Plus I don’t think he knew we were seated.
But the other waiters filled in.
Will we go back....YES!!!!
Will we tell people how much fun it is....YES YES YES
Oh the piano was good but loud. Was glad when he took a break so we could talk.
Our visit was to celebrate Father's Day and it was wonderful, everything was perfect from our food to our service and had a large round table that would accommodate our family. We were located close to the pianist who was fabulous we enjoyed his music and personality…Hope to see him again on our return visit because we will be back.
Waiter was slow and not friendly. Paid for mimosa bar and the wait time for a refill wasn’t worth the price. Croissant breakfast sandwich was good but the breakfast burrito was cold, runny and overflowing with beans. Eggs were cold and fruit array was mushy and melon only. Nice live music but for a Fathers Day celebration, it was overall a disappointment.
Service was prompt and attentive food was prepared well tasted great good appearance, great drinks the music provided was more than enjoyable we both had a wonderful time that evening prior to the concert we were attending that night at the symphony
This is a very nice space in a great part of town. Very nice service. Just the food needs a major upgrade, at least at lunch when we were there. Better options elsewhere at the moment.
Was a good place to sit with my girlfriends and have a nice breakfast/brunch, but I was a little disappointed with the food and service. New wait staff was confused on the order, understandable for new employees, but not desirable for patrons to decide what dishes were brought to the table. I chose a vegan meal, which I don't usually eat, but wanted to try something new. It wasn't my favorite, especially for breakfast. Server was not helpful when we asked questions about the menu, and we were ready to pay so they could give the table to the next reservation, but it took awhile for the server to bring our check. Overall a nice place to sit, but the staff was not very friendly (except for the new employee) and I would personally not come back, at least not for breakfast. Maybe just an off morning.
Everything was delicious. Good beer selection. Aesthetically pleasing setting.
