Spring brings warmth and elegance within a beautiful dining space set in the New Wing of the iconic Somerset House, in the arts and cultural heart of London. Led by acclaimed chef Skye Gyngell, food at Spring is celebrated for it"s conviviality and the joyfulness of sharing seasonal produce. Our cooking is heartfelt, wholesome, produce driven, and cooked by a team of people who are passionate about what they do and who feel truly privileged to work with beautiful ingredients. I have been before and the ambience, service and food was excellent. The food was great but the service was lack lustre. Had to ask for pre dinner cocktails, No knives and forks when the main came and we had to ask for them. One of the waitresses was very nice but when you are paying those prices you expect a bit more. Will think before I go again.

A beautiful dining room in a grand setting. The service was relaxed, polite, friendly and excellent. The bread, the ceviche and the pork belly were good but not outstanding. The ceviche lacked the zing of the lime that was promised. The pork belly was the best dish but lacked the wow factor. The turbot was beautifully cooked but washed out by the cucumber. It was crying out for a creamy mash. The jelly for dessert was tart and interesting. The dining room was sparsely populated and I suspect that the menu prices have something to do with it. £19 for a starter and £31 for a main course is considerably over the top for the food served. I can only assume that the overheads are very high to try to justify the price. Fundamentally you can eat better for less in London. I’m afraid I won’t be back.

Pre-set lunch menu was a poor choice. Small portions, basic food and just ice-cream (which tasted awful) for dessert. poor value. Will not return.

Dear Spring - you could not have been more welcoming and helpful and nor could the food have been more delicious and lunch perfect. We were a group of 60 year old school friends, re-united some after 40 years. We came for lunch and stayed until your first guests for dinner arrived. You accommodated our expanding circle of people, you served us food throughout - in short you were amazing. What a cool elegant place to spend a hot summers day in London. Not only will I recommend you - I will be back. Thank you all.

Take a peek through the arch window .... it’s a wonderland where culinary dreams really do come true. Tagliolini lovingly pulled by hand and coated in silken lemon sage and ambrosia that is the creme of the finest egg yolks.

Fern Verrow’s produce so fresh and crisp I could still taste the dirt from which it had been lovingly plucked. Then a summer pud to put all others to shame.

Delectable - delightful - delish. Thank you Ms Gyngell & Co. It was a real treat.

Lovely fresh ingredients, beautifully cooked. It’s pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Service is brilliant and not overbearing. The decor is simple and fantastic. Not too noisy, especially if you get a booth, perfect for 2-3 people.

We have eaten here over 100 times. Yes, it is that good!
It’s an amazing restaurant. Great ambience. The staff are wonderfully friendly and informed. The menu is constantly changing. Their ingredients are super fresh - sourced from their own farm and from high quality suppliers. It’s hard to fault in anyway.

The service was exceptional - attentive without being intrusive - a difficult balance not achieved by many venues. The sommelier's wine recommendation was supported by an explanation that was informative without being pretentious - again not always achieved by other venues.
The food was very good served hot and promptly.
The acoustics were excellent as one could hear all at one's table without being overcome by nearby table's coversations.
All in all a good experience

I had been to Spring around a year ago and while the food and service was generally good the prices were too high for what you get. We tried again on Tuesday evening and it was even more expensive. It's a nice place, but not good value at all.

We had an amazing meal at Spring. The service was friendly and fantastic. The food was fresh, seasonal and interesting. The flavors were phenomenal. And the room is beautiful. It's pricey, but in my opinion it's totally worth it. The only thing that was a tad bit underwhelming was the raspberry prosecco. I'd get mine straight next time. 5/5, no question.

We had a delicious meal. All dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavour. The Italian onion vegetarian dish was outstanding. Service was very friendly and professional. We will definitely go back!

The food was fantastic and the ambiance was dreamy. We felt very awkward with the service however. The on edge/not understanding the etiquette or the interactions feeling pervaded the meal. We are native English speakers, we have traveled extensively, and we often seek out fine dining when we travel. This was a singularly awkward experience. Still trying to figure out what we did wrong...

The evening was already off to a good start with excellent company and high spirits this lovely rainy evening. Arriving to Spring after navigating winding corridors at Somerset House we were immediately greeted by professional and warm welcomes. Swiftly we were taken to our table. Offered choice of water and off we went.

The pastel colour scheme (pinks, greys, greens, blues) in this classical environment with contemporary elements of art and interior design are balanced and marries well - conversation starters but not edgy. At times it even brought a smile to my face (check out the women’s bathroom and you’ll get what I’m referring to).To my pleasure, the dining area had a very pleasant volume that didn’t drown out what my companion was saying, without hearing every single detail of the next table neighbour. Can’t even recall if any music was playing - it wouldn’t surprise me if Spring have made a conscious decision dumping this completely unnecessary element of most dinner experiences. On the whole: you can tell someone has paid and keeps on paying much attention to the atmosphere at Spring.

Having settled comfortably in our seats we were introduced to the sommelier who talked us through the selection of natural wines. Skill, attentiveness, passion and humour. We ended up with the most shut-up bottle of Pinot Grigio I’ve had. We asked for ‘interesting’ and ended up talking about the wine for a good twenty minutes which I think says it all.

I must say even if the food was excellent it was probably the weakest point of the evening (which doesn’t say much about the food, rather says much about service, wine and atmosphere). I’ll point out the highlights though (and highlights they were): mascarpone tortellini and rosemary sole. If it hadn’t been for the fact that I had the most mind blowing pasta the other week I would have nothing to critique. But the tortellini knocked me sideways and back again. And the rosemary mix: best idea kitchen had in 2018!

A haven of calm just off the busy Strand. Beautiful decor, attentive staff and delicious food. Expect to pay for the privilege, but not ridiculously so. Worth the money for a special occasion. We went early midweek and the place was packed as we left.

My husband and I had a fabulous meal and sublime cocktails and wine. The atmosphere was light and airy instead of dark, and we particularly appreciated the casual, less gendered garb the servers wore. Spring is truly an innovative, world class restaurant of the first caliber.

This was our 3rd time here. We decided to go for the pre theatre menu. “The search menu” this comprises of what ever has been left over, to save food waste. It was fabulous. Chilled tomato soup was the b st I have ever tasted! The service was exceptional. We were staying at The Savoy Hotel near by and they could certainly learn a thing or two from Sring Restaurant!

Food was fantastic. Staff are amazing; knowledgeable and helpful. The venue is beautiful and is such a big part of the overall dining experience. The pricing feels a little bit on the steep side but the quality is unquestioned. Thank you for a lovely day!
