We are also about ten minutes walk from Waterloo Station and Covent Garden.
I regularly meet at Spring for a quiet dinner with three old school friends. It is an occasion we all really look forward to as the food is delicious, the service impeccable and the restaurant always manages to give us our favourite table. 10/10 for another wonderful evening.
Our waitress, Trish definitely deserves a shout out. She offered to explain anything on the menu which was helpful, ie. recommend certain dishes and how they were cooked. Smiled a lot! What more could you ask for?
Lovely setting and ambience, service good. Thought food was average and expensive
great ambiance, amazing decor, super food. Just a bit noisy....
I've been to Spring Restaurant a number of times over the years since it opened, and it was one of my favourite restaurants in London. Unfortunately, my most recent visit suggested the restaurant may not be what it used to be. Sad.
We had a lovely table tucked in a corner that felt almost private. The staff were excellent and could answer all our questions about ingredients. The food was some of the best we had had and I would highly recommend Spring to anyone looking for a special meal.
Excellent. One of my favourite restaurants. Service is normally exceptional. This was our third visit - the wine advice was superb, you could hear and talk. Service was a bit delayed for our first drink order, which was not the end of the world but expect it to occur on our be on our next visit. We were a six this time and they really made us all welcome. Great for special occasion.
Beautiful, calming and romantic interiors. Go later in the evening as things quieten down.
Absolutely spectacular! A perfect meal in a delightful setting. BRAVO!
Food was delicious and ambience is great. Staff are attentive, particularly the Sommelier who was really helpful.
Excellent food in very attractive surroundings. Good service and good choice of wines. Quite expensive, so only for a special treat for us!
We came here to for a very special celebration, and it was perfect. The food is phenomenal, service exemplary and the decor/lighting is soothing and relaxing. We couldn’t have asked for a more special evening!
Been several times now. Food is excellent. I had the octopus and the trout. Superb. Service efficient and friendly. I particularly like the acoustics - even though the restaurant was ful the noise level was low so you could have a decent conversation. A la carte pricy. But set menu v good value.
I am very glad that I have been to Spring restaurant. My daughter and I have intended to visit for some time. We loved the food which was interesting, delicious and portioned well. The restaurant was calm, relaxing and pretty.
The bill was steep (although not unexpectedly so) and we will visit again but probably for a special occasion only.
Lovely place, excellent food. And the set lunch menu is actually very good value.
Excellent waiter (Augusto)
Definitely would visit again
Very lovely setting in Somerset House new wing. Airy and gracious decor. Outstanding menu of locally-sourced, creative British modern food.
Service excellent, ambiance great. Food not as good as usual. Sommelier excellent.
Service outstanding; food a little less so, we thought. Interesting wine suggestions.
The food is outstanding, innovative, unusual and beautifully done. The Prosecco cocktail was rather lovely as well! The service could not have been more attentive or charming. My only very small quibble would be the decor - not very spring-like and such beautiful rooms - I think they could’ve done more?
Lovely environment in which to eat. I did, however, find the savoury food underseasoned. The chocolate cake desert was exceptional.
Lovely setting, top notch food. The wine was excellent as well. Went for a birthday dinner - was my date's birthday - and she loved it. Thank you.
Brilliant food and service. Always delivers! Such a treat!
the food was nice but very small portions and VERY expensive.TOO expensive . £30 for a small portion of fish £17 for a vegetable side dish ??? crazy ! £9 for 125ml basic wine also rip off.
A shame as a nice place and food was nice brasserie style food but the price was much too high for what it was. Spraying tables cloths on adjacent tables while we were still finishing our meal also is very off putting!
As ever, Spring does not disappoint. A menu inspired by the seasons, with impeccably sourced ingredients. Cooking is light with a deft combination of flavours.
Half empty and took ages to get order taken and longer to be served - made a leisurely lunch incredibly rushed as a result / main course over cooked which implied it sat under heat lamps for ages despite little pressure on waiters time / then had a waitress spraying the two close tables on either side of us with liquids for ten minutes while we were eating.. not good for an experience naive restaurant
Service was amazing. Wine is seriously overpriced. Overall - great night for a special occasion.
This is a lunch spot for a reason. Although the food was good, the service at our evening meal was actually pretty terrible. The waiter seemed I'll trained, the somelier ignored us and forgot our wine. It broke the spell of the space which is beautiful and glamorous (more so during the day). Front of house needs serious attention. As do their customers!
We love it. Have been there already 3 times.
Outstandig foot and service.
Had a lovely evening at Spring. We were not rushed to leave our table, and sat and enjoyed the restaurant for three hours. Incredible meal, and an amazing desert to top it off. A tad pricey, but worth it.
They did not tell us a dish was out of an ingredient and served us without the ingredient that we ordered the dish for. Never came back to talk or ask how our meal was for a chance to return. Felt ignored. Seems like it’s trying to be more than it can be. Food was excellent except the potatoes not made properly.
There were 3 of us for this dinner reservation and we dine at great food to table restaurants around the world so we were looking forward to this dinner. The service was terrible as we waited whenever our waitress had to do something. Support staff was good at bringing food after it was ordered. We spent over 2 1/2 hours sitting at our table.
My appetizer was pasta with slow cooked pork which was good. It needed another flavor to give it that WOW. My entree was fish with leeks that was nice but again, lacked the counterbalance flavor that is the hallmark of great chefs.
The pear, hazelnut tart with creme fresh was the driest dessert I’ve ever had. It needed something to counter the drynesss of the tart because creme fresh didn’t do that. I told our server how dry the tart was and she said she was sorry but we still paid for it.
This was the worst meal we had in London this trip and it was the most expensive. We won’t be back,
As I have already written about this place, can only reiterate my opinion of how much I adore Spring London. The reasons are multiple; the craftsmanship of every plate, the elegance, the lightness yet the substance of the great British cuisine is just worth a visit every time to Spring London.
And the added is that at Spring London you can actually sustain conversations because the noise level is just about perfect.
Thank you for surprising and delighting at every occasion.
Great evening, nice atmosphere, great food and lovely surroundings.
Love the Scratch Menu ethos and execution - the room is stunning and an ideal venue for sophisticated pre theatre dining. With Scratch, you are at the behest of the chef's hands so wouldn't advise for the fussy eaters. Great space and lovely staff
Terrible service and bland food
Lovely restaurant- loved the Scratch concept and the food was delicious.
The service was so poor that it overshadowed any positives from the food.
30 minute wait for our drinks, after asking no fewer than 4 servers.
25 minutes to get our starter from the set menu, a soup.
50 minutes to get our main dishes from set menu, received wrong item.
1 hour 15 minutes for a starter and main is far too long for lunch.
We had a spectacular dinner at Spring. All four courses were outstanding, couldn't find any faults. The cocktail was to die for with our oysters, and the matched wines were spot on each time. Expensive but worth every pound. Will definitely go back.
Great setting -good food but pricing has got rather too fierce unless you have set menu
