Spring House Hotel
Sat out on the back terrace. Good was very good, Service was terrific. We enjoyed our meal and will be back.
We had a wonderful view, fantastic service and yummy dinner. This place is a must when visiting the island.
We waited 2 hours for cold food. Our waitress checked on us once. Cocktails were watered down. Incredibly disappointing.
We ate on the outdoor patio. It was extremely loud. This could be related to the fact that it had rained earlier and they needed to close in the porch. Nonetheless, it was very loud. Otherwise, the service was excellent and the food was excellent.
Come for the view, stay for the food. Like any popular restaurant reservations are a must. The servers get very busy and can’t be very attentive. However, eat here!! The view and ambiance is beautiful! I had the buratta salad - it fulfilled my salad dreams! Big fresh tomatoes, delicious buratta, fresh basil dressing. I would go back again abs again for this. My husband had the chicken sandwich (he liked it, didn’t love it) and my son had the butter noodles. Go for the view, it’s lovely.
Traveled to Spring House while on a vacation trip to Misquamicut Beach . We had been there last summer and had such a nice evening that we couldn’t wait to go there again.
To make a long story short, it was a disappointing return. Our waiter brought us a drink, took our order, and didn’t come back to our table until he half heartedly offered us dessert and brought us our check. My husband had a complaint about his meal and a manager happened to stop and ask us how we were enjoying things so he handled that! No offer for a second cocktail or some wine, which I would have happily ordered .
Bottom line. It was a beautiful evening in a lovely place and the food and service were both lacking. Next year when we travel to RI we will be looking for a new special evening to top off our trip.
Nice dinner on the porch overlooking the water.
Our outdoor table had a very nice view of the ocean with good entertainment while we were eating. Nice ambience. The service was good, but the food was just okay and over priced. I'll recommend it for people with money.
It is always a special occasion at the Spring House in the outdoor dining room. A very friendly open air experience with a wonderful menu of options. We travel to the island frequently and in our opinion this restaurant never fails us. We have had all the menu items. Highly recommend. The view is not to be missed.
Good food, beautiful view of the ocean. Service was pretty good.
It’s a beautiful place to sit and have a drink or enjoy a great dinner!!
The food was great. Paul our waiter was outstanding and very friendly… We had a great table with amazing view..
My only complaint…. our table was dirty with dirt, an old ketchup stain all in the crevices of the table.. I just think for the price your paying for the meal I should get a clean table
We had a wonderful lunch and dinner. Both were great. Would recommend this hotel for a great stay for a special occasion!
outstanding view of the Atlantic Ocean, really good food with excellent attentive service.
Our waitress SaraH was very personable and knowledgeable of the menu and wines. All her suggestions were spot on. We also had a lovely predinner cocktail on the lawn. The live music was great and a wonderful way to start an evening
Love The Spring House so much. It was our first time eating there! We had gone to visit and see what it would be like on our wedding day a year from then. We were set up where we would probably eat the evening of our wedding with a great view and we were served champagne and everything! Food and vibes were amazing. Special shout-out to Tanya (our wedding coordinator) for hooking us up. Highly recommend this place for all meals!
Great service, great view. Not impressed with the gluten free pizza
What do yo do while you wait for the arrival of a Tropical Storm?? Have dinner on the porch at the Spring House! While we awaited the arrival of Elsa on Block Island, we decided to go to the Spring House. We thought it might be cool and a bit windy but we got a great table of the East corner and the temperature was perfect. Looking out on the beautiful lawn and seemingly all the way to Martha's Vineyard was a perfect backdrop to a great meal. With a nice wine list and perfect service we enjoyed clam chowder, burrata and heirloom tomato salads and a terrific ahi tuna poke. And we never thought of Martha or her Vineyard.
A perfect setting to enjoy Block Island and quiet enough to have a conversation...a rare treat these days. Try it!!
You can't beat the view, the courteous staff, and the delicious menu choices. Always a win!
The Block Island Swordfish is to die for! Came here for my anniversary dinner and it was fantastic.
This was a lovely place to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Can't wait to go back!
I generally would highly recommend this place. I have been going for 10 years around the 4th of July with a bill of 4-600 for 5-6 people. This year I got the worst seared tuna ive had. It was a poor cut of fish with almost no fat. Secondly, it was way over cooked. The Maitre D' came by and asked how everything was. I said " the tuna is way over cooked and tasteless". All he offered was a "sorry". We only ate a bite of the tuna but paid for it anyway. at $45 for tuna over noodles.... you gotta hit it out of the park everytime.
Lovely meal for a birthday. Tuna and swordfish were among the best we’ve ever had. Online reservation made it very easy to get a table the same day. Always love coming by every year!
Good food and service in an amazing location. Loved it. Was a hotel guest here a few years ago. Our waiter was wonderful and had a great sense of humor. Would have given 5 stars across the board if only hostess had seated us on main porch and not sat us hidden on the back tarp-covered patio. We felt like Pinto and Flounder when visiting Delta house during rush in Animal House when they kept putting them in the back room with the outcasts. Kinda surprised since it was late for lunch and plenty of free tables on main porch. Will remember this next time I’m looking for a hotel on Block Island 😉
Very picturesque. Unfortunately, staff needs better training. Admittedly we had hoped to sit on the porch, but when the hostess brought us over there were two poor couples sitting in a windtunnel and we indicated that it was not fit to dine there. We shouldn’t of had to say that. A little while later it started to drizzle. We had to ask for an umbrella since not all patio tables had umbrellas. There just was a lack of care or interest which I blame on lack of leadership or training. The food was good, we eventually moved inside when the rain became too much - we had to ask. And while certain waiters and waitresses seemed very nice we overall unimpressed by the attention to detail. We are marking that we would recommend it to a friend because the food was good and the view is great and it’s iconic to Block Island. But it does seem to be resting on its laurels.
A bit over priced for the quality, particularly the scallops which were very small. And, they were not very accomodating for my Dad’s food allergy, as most items were pre-cooked. A restuarant of this scale should be able to cook to order, which they could not do.
Great atmosphere though!
Great view and great food
Fantastic service and amazing food. View was top notch.
A lovely anniversary dinner with friends.
My family and I have dined here for about 15 years. The view is absolutely the best, and lunch and or drinks on the porch or lawn are still awesome. I do however suspect we will not dine for dinner in the coming years. This is the second bad review I am leaving, for similar reasons as the last. I have never enjoyed dining on the back patio, particularly under a tarp, its loud and can be drafty, and so this year I requested inside. What they don't tell you is that you will then be in the bar. We were unable to hear each other, patrons were dressed down, the service was spotty (our waitress appeared overextended, and the bus boys were sullen and poorly trained). Some of us enjoyed the food, my fish was overly salted. For the money spent, this was not a nice experience.
Beautiful spot but the food was just okay. We had better meals on the island for less money.
Shiraz is fantastic! Super friendly and accommodating! Ecaterina was a great server and made for a fantastic experience!
Picturesque ambience , great cocktails, innovative and delicious cuisine
The food was amazing! Staff was amazing! We had a fantastic time.
The food and service were exceptionally good. The prices were a bit high but when the quality of the food is so good, you don’t mind paying a little more. My only negative was the noise level. We had a very large table behind us who couldn’t care less that they were disturbing other diners. Not the fault of the establishment but nonetheless it did take away from our hope for a quiet romantic dinner. We would definitely come back again should the opportunity arise. Thank you!
This was our second time here, and I couldn’t rave enough. We sat outside and the weather and view were perfection. But even without that, I still highly suggest this place. The food was dynamite. I got the salmon, at our server’s suggestion, and my husband got the filet. Five stars for both. The scallop appetizer (omg the bacon jam, yum) and fresh/local oysters were to die for. I wish they had some more creative wine/beer but no big deal for me. Highly recommend!
Some good values and portion sizes. The tuna tartar was very good and the filet mignon. Wine/Bar list needs work and consolidation from huge paper menus. Staff seems poorly trained with knowing seat and table numbers. Amazing location and I would return but would hope the service improves.
