Fantastic food. Fantastic wine (impressive list, too). Incredible service!
Always amazing! Brought in some foodie friends from London while they were visiting Zion! They loved it!
Spotted Dog is most elegant and refined of all the fine restaurants in Springdale, and —yes— there are several of them. Its tasteful, artistic ambience enhances its fine, inventive cuisine. It attracts urbane visitors to enjoy a sophisticated dining experience after a day of exploring Zion Canyon. But its popularity can mean a full house every night and that raises the noise level in the front parlor though not so much in the beautiful dining room in the back of the restaurant.
The attached photo is of an authentic French onion soup I ordered and found equal to what I have tasted and treasured in Paris.
Delicious food, extensive wine list and our waiter, Freddie, was great. A very pleasant evening!
Springdale apparently has a lot of great restaurants and this is one of them. We were hiking/sightseeing in Zion NP and wanted a relaxing and yummy dinner. Spotted Dog more than met the requirements. The complimentary house flatbread and roasted tomato/olive oil dip were a tasty starter. The trout and tuna mains were fresh and well prepared. The chocolate lava cake was rich and more than enough for two of us. Making reservation on OpenTable got us a great table in the back dining room.
Everything was delicious; from the appetizer to the dessert! The service was outstanding and very timely!
Excellent meal! Great food, not inexpensive, but worth it.
The Spotted Dog was really a nice restaurant. The dishes were unusual, delicious and fairly priced. The dining area was attractive with some views of the Zion mountains. The service was excellent. I live in the SF Bay Area and this restaurant definitely beat the pretentious and overpriced fare you get here. I highly recommend it.
This was the best of the three dinners that we had in Springdale. The service and food were both excellent.
When we arrive, table was ready inside. We decided we wanted to eat outside. No problem they accommodated us. Probably because we were 5:00 reservation. When we left at 7:30 place was packed. Highly recommend a day or two ahead reservations!
Food was excellent. Service was superb. Our waiter, Freddy, was amazing. Very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Overall I would give this place 5 stars. It is on the expensive side of meals but when the food is that good and the ambience is amazing you can’t really complain.
It was just ok. Better to go to the grocery store and cook your own food!
This is my fevoret restaurant in Zaion. Love all in the place good wine and dishes for dinner. This is place to relacks and wine dawn.
Great crab cakes
The Spotted Dog was a very nice for dinner after trudging thru Zion all day. We were so impressed with the quality of the food and service we actually had reservations at another spot, but canceled the and made reservations at the spotted Dog for a second evening. You can’t go wrong with this choice.
Excellent food with insightful
presentation. Great service!
A find in the town of Springdale👍
This was a gourmet restaurant in the small town of Springdale outside of Zion. It was the best
meal we had during our stay. Excellent food and ambiance.
Excellent food, great service, in a beautiful setting.
Great food, reasonably priced for a nice restaurant in a tourist area. Loved the ahi, and the mushroom appetizer was fantastic too. Great ambiance, especially for a fall dinner. And located right at a shuttle stop!
I was not expecting to eat so well in Zion/Springdale. I was pleasantly surprised! Dinner was delicious. We all ate different things, and everything from the duck, to the tuna, to the pasta was excellent. Highly recommend this wonderful place.
Went here based on the reviews and really did not enjoy it. The food was mediocre and my chicken tasted like it was frozen, thawed and served over my pasta. I really was excited to try it but honestly, would not recommend it.
Loved it - delicious food, great location, and nice view
Very nice restaurant in beautiful Springdale, Utah next to Zion National Park. The salmon and tuna ahi steak were excellent, as was the service.
Wonderful food with warm and welcoming service! Anna was our charming server. Food was very fresh and well prepared. Overall, a delightful meal.
We visit the Spotted Dog on every visit to Zion and it never disappoints. Ben was our server this go around and he was absolutely excellent. The wine list is stellar. We love the food, the atmosphere and the casual yet elegant feel of the space. Go and be happy.
Excellent restaurant. Very good food and prices. Loved the decor. We had dinner there 3 times during our trip to Zion. The crab cakes and smoked trout were delicious. Highly recommended.
Worth the drive! Came from Las Vegas, NV. Decided to reserve at this restaurant because of the great reviews and I was not disappointed! The shrimp pasta my girlfriend got was amazing and the tenderloin I ordered was savory and one of the best I have had. Not to mention the cheesecake and lava cake to top it off. The views also make it all the more special. Definitely would drive out again.
The wine list is the most extensive I have seen anywhere, much less in Utah. I wish I could have tried more items on the menu. We had an opportunity to try rabbit loin (much like chicken) and a shank (veal?). Both were very flavorful. The Caesar salad with several anchovies on top was also nice.
This was a total surprise. The Spotted Dog Cafe was recommended by a hotel sales manager and I wasn't sure what we were going to get. First of all, the specials and regular menu were just above standard but for the special appetizer, steamed artichoke, but then the aioli dip, the drawn butter all great. Then the main course was extraordinary, something I would have expected in Manhattan, just a steak but so amazing, dried, served with a potato croquet, and an amazing brown gravy, mushrooms, chard, mixed vegetables.
But what truly amazed me was the wine list. I cannot tell you all the greats on this list. Sonoma County, Rhone Valley (Right Bank), Medoc (Left Bank), Argentina Malbec, Spain, Italy, Washington State, Germany, Austrailia, easily a 40+ page menu! This is hard to rival in NYC, where one might expect it but in Springdale!?! Such a pleasant surprise.
And best Creme Brûlée ever!!
I loved this place and hope I have a calling to visit once again, soon.
Sit on the roadside terrace and stare st the beautiful red rock mountains. Dinner was delicious and our service excellent.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Food was very good. I have a gluten intolerance and the menu here was very good for me, even the dessert! The flatbread looked delicious and my s.o. Said it was.
Spotted Dog was recommended to us by a family friend who had dined before. We made the reservation and was not disappointed at all in our choice. I would recommend any visitor to the Zion area visit the Spotted Dog for their dining choice.
Outstanding food, service, value and locale. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Outside seating has spectacular views, particularly at dinner time.
Marvelous restaurant with outstanding food in a beautiful setting looking up into the Zion Valley. Understated, casual dining with an elegant atmosphere that is great for visitors to Zion looking for an upscale meal.
I consider this to be the best restaurant in this region. Fit for foodies, nice ambience and terrific service. The parsnip and roasted garlic cream soup was the highlight of our meal. I miss the truffle fries and although the braised lamb shank was tasty, our serving was not particularly well trimmed. Nevertheless this is an outstanding value.
You cannot go wrong at the Spotted Dog. It is a relaxing place that tries hard and succeeds to make you feel comfortable here when you dine. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is comfortable. The menu is a bit wider than the other venues in Springdale. We enjoyed the Duck and the halibut here, which was prepared and served as they should be. Our server, "The Chench" was friendly and had knowledge of the menu that was not perfunctory. The wine list was decent and will fit a wide range of tastes and fit your budget. You will definitely enjoy your meal here.
We were staying nearby while hiking and decided to give this place a try. It was pretty crowded when we arrived, but they had our table and honored our request to sit side by side, which was a great start. The server was prompt to help us and really nice to chat with over the evening. We had a cocktail to start, then an appetizer, a salad to share, and two mains, both of which were plentiful in size. The food quality is high and everything tasted great, was plated well, and had nice temperature. The wine list is pretty good for a more remote area in Utah. The staff did a good job of coursing out the food, per our request, and we did not feel rushed. While this review covers dinner, we did eat breakfast there the next day and it was a nice buffet as well. We'd recommend the Spotted Dog Café.
A wonderful experience. The food was delicious and our waiter, David, was excellent.
Perfect dining, perfect and friendly service, very good wines, high quality Food - everthing was almost perfect --- we will stay again
Very good food. Very nice staff. I would recommend it. More upscale than most restaurants in Springdale.
