   Let's say we was tired of paying $250 for a meal with non-chalant hipster service, decor and ambience. We decided to try Splendido for the experience, we just hoped it would be a pleasant outing with great food and attentive, warm service. We chose the tasting menu and there were certain dishes which were outstanding. There's a fine art to serving a $500 meal with a certain professional level of service without it being too formal and pretentious. Splendido does it well. Food is well presented, orignial and carefully prepared. Staff are informed and attentive. The chef was very relaxed and served many of the courses himself with great pride - which was nice and refreshing to see and made the experience very personal. They recognize from the beginning that's its an indulgent and expensive evening for most people and treat it accordingly with humble graciousness and special treatment for all clients (repeat or otherwise). There was not a typical corporate type of Toronto dining experience that is so common these days, you definitely didn't feel like a commodity and it was wonderful. Would definitely return and recommned to all

   I paid $150 for tasting menu, at least 6 of them came as a bite size piece of sashimi or cooked fish, used soya sauce, black bean paste, ginger...etc. these are too common ingredients in asian cuisin. main dishes are roasted carrot, mint sauce potatoes, bite size pigeon, mushroom...none of them are hot,they were nearly warm to cold when served. Excellent service, but took us 3hours to finish all course and had to wait nearly one hour betwn last desert was served till we get the bill. Food not surprisingly great for the value we paid. Paying $150 for Kaji omakaze I am sure getting much better quality of fishes here, and fushion with Origin taste better with surprises.

   Splendido has always been on my hit list - but with an atmosphere that tends to dictate a `'special`' occasion, I have always pushed it off. Just recently dining there, I finally discovered what I was missing all this time in Toronto. The dishes were creative and elegant with a depth of flavours that almost left you disappointed when you finished the dish. With the hip-wanna be "foodie' restaurants overtaking the city with attempts to do something special - and do it well - Splendido reminds you of what great cooking taste like! Their execution was flawless…scallop infused popcorn!? brilliant and so tasty. I walked away with a renewed faith in toronto Chefs and their artistry.

   My date and I went to Splendido on Halloween at night for dinner. We ordered the 14 course tasting menu for $150 per person without caviar, truffles, or wine pairings. The portions were the size you'd expect out of a tasting menu; 2-5 bites (some were more plentiful). The ambience was classy and upscale with a menu to match. All in all, it was a fabulous experience! I would probably come back after I immerse myself more fully into foods to better understand and appreciate the ingredients used in the dishes.

   My lady and I just went for the 12 course tasting for our 5 year anniversary. Had an outstanding dinner, and the service was impeccable. a 3 hour ordeal beautifully timed. Definitely the best restaurant all around if your looking for the 5* experience. Our experience comes from tasting menu's and wine dinners at all the top restaurants in North America from Montreal, NY to Yountville. This place is definitely a Must. Will return.

   Worth every cent spent! The 12 course tasting menu is totally original and provides a whole evening of dining and culinary adventure. We were there from 7pm to 11pm. Wonderful relaxed and friendly staff, all very experienced and the Chef/owner, Victor Barry takes time at the front of the house to chat with diners. Hip fine dining at its best.

   Amongst the best in Canada, Chef Victor's cuisine is imaginative and often spectacular. Tasting menu option featuring perfectly executed food were visually appealing, possessing great taste, harmony and lovely textural interplay. Service was friendly, attentive and professional. Chef venturing into dining room to greet patrons and exchange pleasantries is a warm and nice touch. Definitely worthy of Michelin stars if ever they come to town!

   Splendido was amazing. My family went for my hubby's b-day and the fixed menu for brunch was fantastic. The restaurant itself has a great cozy and chic feel to it, and the service was impeccable. The food was fresher than fresh and prepared with attention to detail and taste. The topped of the bruch with a b-day candle and card for the b-day boy! Definitely check this place out!!

    Not listing the dishes on the 5-course or 24-course menu is snobbish. Too many of the dishes were hickory-smoked or had sweet sauces. The sweetbreads with foam were far more complicated than tasty. Not telling customers about the cost of the paired wines or of the truffle shavings ($40 per person??!!) is rather devious. Altogether, too cute and too expensive for its own good.
