What Insiders Are Saying
Once you get past the rigorous ID checking policy and the ridiculously wide bench seats that require a gymnastics routine to get in and out of...you are in for a treat. Spitzer's is home to some of the best bar food in the city.
This venue has closed! I booked a reservation for 5 people last Sunday. When I arrived at the place a couple minutes early, it seems to be closed permanently... please research and remove from your platform if needed. This caused some issues for my group. Do not book Spitzer’s!
The restaurant literally did not exist anymore. It closed down months ago. How is it still on open table?
Had a confirmed reservation for the family for Christmas Eve, only to arrive and find the restaurant closed. Very bad business. Will never go back.
We had a large family dinner with with a couple generations in attendance. Everyone loved the food, drinks and service. Thanks for a great meal, we'll be back!
I love Spitzer’s Corner. Their grits are amazing! Great choices of beers too!
Food here was delicious and service was friendly and prompt! All different meals across the table, all excellent. I had the burger, friends had the ricotta pancakes (HUGE), chorizo omelet and salmon eggs Benedict. Also had a bloody Mary which was not too spicy (how I like it) and also had some delicious coconut rum drink. DIdn't have the coffee but it smelled great! Really spacious place too. I would absolutely go back.
It was my birthday, I only made the reservation for 10 a few hours before showing up. The restaurant was super accommodating!! Excellent time!
I always love Spitzer's and have NEVER been disappointed. Amazing food and extensive beer menu. What more could you ask for?
Early brunch. Everything was great.
Service is terrible, central location.
Great beer selection, and nice atmosphere. The food could have been better, as the steak tasted a little fishy, as if it had been grilled or cut near seafood.
Service was very quick and server was attentive. Large space with tables for large groups, which is nice.
I made a reservation for Spitzers corner for my fiancé' 30th birthday celebration. I chose Spitzers because it's casual and has a good beer selection.
I had asked for the back room because we were going to be a large group. I was told upon arriving that another party took the room. The hostess said sorry in a disingenuous tone. Don't tell me I have a specific area if you're just going to randomly give it away, not sure what that was about. Rgardless our server was great and we had a good time chatting with friends.
Really polite serving staff who were responsive, made good recommendations for food and beer, and weren't intrusive on a date night out. Might have to make another trip out here sometime in the future
Our waitress Jen was great! Awesome beer menu for anyone who loves to try new craft beers. I recommend the short rib burger - it was delicious! I would return - very cozy and welcoming. Good vibes.
We had a group of four and found it was just the right level of noise/energy - not boisterously loud but not quiet either; food was pretty good. The burgers were good, although I might advise against the fish and chips - fish was a bit greasy.
I had a reservation for a group of 14 to celebrate my birthday!! All of the food we ordered was delicious, the staff was helpful and took good care of our large group. I would go back for the food, beer and overall atmosphere of the restaurant.
Fantastic service, great food... absolutely coming back!
I absolutely love this restaurant! It's a perfect spot because it's in a great area to go out afterwards and the food is delicious and not overly priced. I would highly reccommend it to anyone I know.
Great spot for drinks and meals at anytime. Beer selection good. Solid offerings from the kitchen. Loved the fried chicken sandwich and the steak frites. Friend had the veggie burger and she was happy with that. Definitely coming back!
Loud but not too much - and food was great - more if a tails sort of menu. Good for drinks and casual get together - if you can plan casual!
Great place for drinks and apps before going out
Brunch was tasty although a lot of the menu items were a tad overpriced. I didn't have the home fries but the friends of mine who did said they lacked flavor. Staff was super nice and accommodating, though!
Service was very terrible, We had to ask for a food menu twice before getting it. We were constantly ignored throughout the night. The food was ok, hard time saying it was any better than the equivalent anywhere else.
We had a large table of 16 reserved for a birthday, a few of us were running a bit late. Josh (our server) was the best! He was so patient and nice the entire team. I'm sure it's not east to wait on a table of 16 on a Friday night in the LES and he did it flawlessly!!! Love the service.
This was a fine place to meet for food before listening to music. The friendly staff was very accommodating when it turned out our group was arriving in haphazard increments. The beer list is impressive with some interesting finds. The spinach dip was good (but not exactly spa cuisine), the fish and chips was perfectly fine. I liked the straightforward décor. It was very loud.
Amazing beer, good vibe and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly
Spitzer's was good. It was hip and trendy and had a cool vibe and atmosphere which fit the Lower East Side. I thought the food was good, although a little pricey. For example, if you order a burger, you also have to order a side of fries. We had good service. It was a younger crowd. Cool place.
The food was average and extremely overpriced. The seating was uncomfortable. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend nor will I revisit this restaurant.
Nice chill place with good bar food and a reasonably large beer selection
Several of us came here for brunch after running a half marathon. It was the perfect spot for great food and post-race drinks and I was very impressed that they held the table for us (we were running late due to post-race logistics and called, and the staff was extremely accommodating). Will definitely return!
Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They helped make my friend's birthday dinner great. The food was very good. I'd highly recommend the mussels.
Nice restaurant on the corner with seating at the window, perfect for people gazing. Food was fine and cocktails were decent. Had a very chill vibe...staff didn't rush you out and you were free to linger (I went on a sunday afternoon).
We were a party of 4, had a table in the corner near the window.... Best spot in the house if you ask me.
They have awesome grilled cheese and kobe beef sliders. not a bad beer list
Front area very noisy, back room more quiet...you have a choice! Great get together place! Prices good for NYC. I will go again...
Honestly the food was pretty good but it was THE SLOWEST service. It wasn't busy at all and I didn't need a reservation.
Update: I got a call from the NYC dept of health saying this place was getting everyone sick after I made this review. I later, got sick.
good for groups - we had a friend's party here and it was a good time
Food was good, service was good. Front room is busy and loud since it's also a bar. So you have to talk a little loud but not painfully so.
