Our services was spectacular.It was our first time dinning at Spencer's and our server truly raised our expectations for being served. Honest 5/5 stars we will definitely be back.
Everything was AMAZING! The food was fantastic, we were treated like royalty. David and Rene took exceptionally good care of us. Rene was jovial and made our girls feel extra special. David was professional and seemed very experienced in fine dining. We even had the Manager Jorge check in to see how everything was. It was as close to a perfect evening as you could get.
Millionaires bacon is clutch. Our server and busboy were both amazing. 8oz filet with horseradish cream was the perfect amount of food. I wish I had had room for dessert, but that's my only regret.
In a hotel lobby. Has a rustic interior. The service was very good. The steak was not exceptional.
Jess was an awesome server. The Calmari appetizer was tough and rubbery. The wedge salad was out of this world great. We both ordered the CAB NY strip. Both were slightly over cooked and both were tough. The sides Brussel Sprouts and AuGratin Potatoes were both good. Probably should have gone to Flemings. Overall kind of a bummer.
Wish we would have gone to Ruth’s Chris across the street. Not very good steak and same price as Ruth’s.
Our waiter was kind and prompt. The food was good, but not great. The setup of chairs was poor, as each table could not enter/exit without running into the neighboring table.

Our steak was VERY undercooked, the waitress did not check on our food, we wanted more wine but she never came to check on us, the dessert menu was dropped off but she didn’t come back for 15 minutes. I shouldn’t have to apologize for wanting my $75 steak prepared correctly. I will never go back; it was a horrible experience. I was really looking forward to a special celebration meal, but it was nothing but disappointing. $650 down the drain.
I love steak. However, the Ribeye at Spencer's was just OK. I've actually had better at lesser steak houses. Can't speak to the filet or other cuts but the ribeye was good, but was it $50+ worth of steak? No. Sides were excellent. Service fantastic. Love the feel of the place (old world steak house - lots of wood and leather).
Visiting our son, who moved from South Carolina, for Christmas. So happy with our choice for dinner. Service was top notch and the food was outstanding. Our next visit to Salt Lake City will include a visit to Spencer’s.
First time dining here and it made the perfect Christmas dinner! This will be e our new tradition.

My family and I eaten here multiple times. We are always impressed with the staff. Our Waiter "Erik" was amazing, attentive and knew his menu, we actually laughed with him about his "up sell" abilities. The food was as expected, cooked perfectly, the vegetables were crisp and the sauces were great. Spencer's is lucky to have such a great employee as Erik, we will be back soon, and most likely will ask to sit in his area.
Ambiance was a little too quiet for how closely set the tables are set-up. Service was great!
For a highly rated steakhouse, I was very disappointed. It 10 degrees outside and they have the air condition on. Every few minutes, we got pounced with cold air. The soup, salad and ribeye were good. The shrimp was fishy (i.e. gross). I don't recall every having fishy shrimp before. The baked potato was under cooked and I kept hearing in my mind Ebenezer Scrooge telling Jacob Marley that he was nothing more than a bit of underdone potato... Overall, I was very disappointed. We could have gone to Ruby River Steakhouse and had a better meal in an equivalent atmosphere for a third of the price. This was our anniversary dinner and will forever be remember to not go there.
Steaks were served cool, not warm, brussels sprouts overcooked. Potatoes served warm, not hot.
Quite a lower level of quality compared to past years. Every other visit thereover past 10 years was fabulous. Different management perhaps?
Overall experience disappointing and not worth the high cost.

Absolutely amazing food! The Wagyu filet was phenomenal! Best steak I’ve ever eaten! Our waiter was so kind and personable. Amazing personal service. I can’t wait to go back.
The service provided by Jess was the highlight of the evening. The low point was the $56 14 oz. ribeye that could not have been more than 8 oz. It was cut to less than half an inch thick, making it difficult to cook. I ordered sauteed garlic and onions as a topper that saved the flavor. My colleague had the lamb chops which were very good. Also avoid the berry tart, as it was not a tart, but merely a pre-baked mini cake form with ice cream and some berry jam on top.
Its was quiet in Spencer's until a group came in and sat at the next booth.
Spencer's has always been my go to place for a great steak dinner. It's usually quiet so we can converse and the staff is excellent.
Last night the quality of my steak was not up to par with the other times I've been there. I'm going to chalk this up to the shortages from the pandemic and supply chain issues. My rib eye was at best an inch thick where before they have been thicker and looked more appetizing.
No complaints with the staff or service.
Spencer's was very nice after a long time away. Prices were up substantially during the time away. Service was very good.

My ribeye was cooked perfectly (asked for medium well and it was tender and slight pink), but my dining companion's was a bit too rare (basically, blue in the middle) for the medium rare she ordered. The scallops were amazing...melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Was not a fan of the creme brulee...tasted a little like butterscotch pudding. Our server, David, was attentive and friendly. Overall, a good visit.
The wife and I decided to do something untraditional for Thanksgiving and went out to Spencers. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in til we said good night. David and Rene did a outstanding job of making us feel welcomed and that no matter how much of a newbie we are to ordering from their menu they made it more pleasant of an experience.
The change of tableware was welcomed after each course and the food was outstanding. The Millionaire Bacon was an outstanding appetizer as was the bacon scallops both were very rich and filling.
My wife had the King Salmon and I had the 14oz Ribeye both were cooked to the temperature that we desired. The room a little noise but it was families enjoying the evening.
David did an excellent job of recommending options and cautioned us that kitchen was busy which we didn’t mind we enjoyed each other’s company and the room atmosphere. It was really nice when the room kind of emptied because we could hear the music that was playing and that made the evening complete.

Amazing experience. We are so happy that Spencer's has returned to its former glory. There were a few years there when it was not the best that it could be.
We loved every minute of our dinner on 11/25/21. Our server was amazing, delightful and watched over us and took care of us with exceptional attention.
The food was very good. I especially enjoyed the 50/50 Caesar salad.
Pricey but you knew that going in. The steak was the best I’ve ever had and the cocktails were phenomenal. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Great spot for a special occasion. We will definitely be coming back!
Despite this being a hotel restaurant, with the attendant atmosphere, the overall experience was excellent. The food was perfectly cooked, deftly delivered, and the service was impeccable. For those weary of poor service delivered by people who don’t understand how a good dining experience should be managed, this was a breath of fresh air. High praise for both the kitchen and the service staff.
Everything was delicious, we will be going back for all special occasions. They also have a lot of room for large groups.

We had a great dinner at Spencer’s! We went for a birthday and the server immediately checked on whose birthday it was. The service was just perfect and the food was excellent. They brought out a special plate w the dessert for the birthday, which was very nice. I would recommend this place to steak lovers who want a very special dinner.
The lobster macncheese is excellent, the Wagyu was cooked perfectly and delicious. The bar tender (can't remember his name) is an absolute gem.
The staff went above and beyond. The food was outstanding, the service exceptional and the atmosphere was great. Thank you for making it such a special night. We will never forget it.
