One of our favorite restaurants in the Philly area. Always great food and just the right amount of courteous service.
We had a great New Years Eve meal and the service was great. Sam was awesome as well as the bartenders. Food was excellent!
Consistently excellent food & service, best restaurant around!
We had a wonderful dinner at Sovana after a visit to Longwood Gardens. This has become a tradition and one that will continue . We were met at the door with smiles from the two hostesses. The servers are always professional and knowledgeable regarding the menu. Our server, Robbie, was spot on with his suggestions and the prix fixe is a great deal.
Love the express lunch. Shawn is a friendly, attentive and helpful server.
We had a lovely evening and our first visit. Our waiter was very attentive and clearly explain the specials and she checked on us often. We didn’t have to ask for refills of anything. The food was wonderful and we wound up closing the place down.
Food was great...! Also we appreciated them accommodating our request for being seated side by side.
Food was excellent! Very loud though. Made having a conversation differcult.
Wonderful organic and tasty food, nice fwaitresses and service was great!
It took awhile to get our food , but apparently there was a mix up in the kitchen. The waitress was apologetic and offered a drink or dessert to make up for it.
Love this gem! Food is always very good, if not excellent. Service was just a little slow recently, but that is likely a result of the restaurant being so packed. Still a great evening at one of our favorite spots!
My family loves this restaurant and our hearts go out to the owners and employees dealing with the aftermath of the fire last night. We hope that in time they will be able to rebuild and bring back the wonderful food, service and ambiance that we had grown to love.
Our waitress was outstanding and we had great service. The food was very good. The atmosphere is good. The drinks were alarmingly over priced.
Always reliable standby near Longwood. Good, creatively prepared food, nicely presented. Noise level is always a bit too much in main dining room and bar, but better in back behind the bar. Good service, always a good choice.
Food excellent. Service attentive as far as order and delivery. Disappointed when asking for seasoning such as red pepper flakes for the appetizer, calamari. Had to ask three times. we savor and eat slowly, the appetizer would have been cold by the time it was delivered if we waited. Service looks to be a team effort, worked well except ad hoc requests.
Amazing, as always. Great food.
The total experience was outstanding from the pleasant, friendly staff, to the amazing flavors of the food. We loved every minute and every bite.
We had a decent evening... the restaurant was alive with lots of folks at the bar (Eagles football was playing in the TV) and others seated for dinner. We had a reservation for 6pm but it took about 10 minutes to be seated. There were about 4 young hostess employees manning the entrance but they didn’t seem to have a sense of urgency. We weren’t really sure what we were waiting for but it eventually seemed to be clear that they were rounding up extra menus? Upon being seated we had a very lovely server by the name of Bailey. She seemed
Busy with a lot of tables but did her best to keep us a priority. The service was a bit slow in between orders (cocktails, looking over menu, actually ordering, and receiving food)... but I don’t think it was Bailey’s fault- perhaps the kitchen was busy? The food was delicious so no problems there! The space is noisy though- so a little hard to hear the people we were with... but all in all it was a decent dinner... we will be back- hopefully on a less busy/noisy evening.
Food is amazing!
Becky was a great server Enjoyed our time
Very busy night, almost no where to park in the lot. Our Server was pleasant & welcoming despite the rush (karen). The blood orange cocktail was delicious & festive for the holidays. The food was delicious as always, only complaint my scallops were served cold. Our favorite not in Philly Gem!
A must visit for any occasion. There is an energetic holiday vibe, a varied menu, and an accommodating staff.
Used to be a favorite restaurant but over time became so noisy we stopped going. After a three year hiatus we decided to try again. Still way too loud. Energetic, as used by OpenTable, is an awful way to describe an unacceptable noise level. One should be able to have a conversation without having to shout.
Also, we were offered a high top or a table when we made the reservation. On arrival, we were taken to a high top. When I asked to have the table I reserved the hostess seemed put out by the request. Food is great, but the ambiance mediocre.
Food was excellent as well as the service.
As always, wonderful!!!!
This was our second visit, not as wonderful as the first time, but good. I felt cocktails were skimpy in size, especially for city prices. Octopus and tuna tartare were both excellent. Both pasta dishes were served cold. Our server was great and brought out new dishes. Much better, however, the special "pork ragu" literally had no pork in it. We exchanged for another pasta, Bolognese, which was very good. Just would prefer them to get it right the first time instead of back and forth. Also, enjoyed the fish special. They were kind enough not to charge for the pasta dishes.
The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We had starters and main meals which were very good, with a good selection of wine. The cocktails at the bar definitely made our rare date night extra special. I booked the table online and ended up squashed into a corner table which was disappointing as there were tables free in the main dining area. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks, had to ask twice before they came. Not told about the special until I asked. I will call and book the table next time so I can be sure we get a good table and a waiter that is more attentive.
So glad we discovered this bistro! Celebrated a birthday. I had the cedar planked salmon which was the best I have ever had. The Abram's Bridge Cab was amazing.
Wait staff is not as good or attentive anymore. I also had to send some under-cooked food back to the kitchen. It was also FREEZING in the restaurant. Very sad to see our favorite spot go downhill over the past year or so.
Fantastic as always
The restaurant is located in a busy complex that is home mostly to offices. The parking lot was pretty full. We had made a reservation for our party of three and we were seated fairly quickly with only a short wait. They did not make us wait for the entire party to arrive, something that more restaurants should do.
We went at 1:30 and it was pretty busy. The service was on par with what I'd expect during a busy time at most restaurants, it wasn't unduly slow and our food came out reasonably quickly.
The menu has lots of choices and can accommodate picky or adventurous eaters as well as those with common dietary restrictions.
I would definitely return, but might consider an Uber in order to avoid any parking issues.
Always a great experience.
Great food and drinks, espe ially during the holidays.
This place is amazing we specify go here after our annual Longwood Gardens trip!! they usually bring out a little taster of something they are talking about making a dish. If you are a whiskey lover they have a million delish verities of drinks! We absolutely love this place.
As we were seated, the first thing our server said to us was the table previous had brought a very expensive bottle of champagne and gave her a glass-maybe she was pre-explaining her soon to be very bad service.
5 of us at the table - she only brought 4 glasses of water and never came back with the promised 5th glass.
When she came after the server brought our appetizer, she asked how it was, we asked for salt and the water which never appeared.
We managed to flag down another server who not only brought the salt but was kind enough to also bring the 5th glass of water.
One of our party was not drinking so we had asked her to provide a separate check, "sure no problem", but at the end of the meal when she literally dropped our bill o the table and ran away, it was all on one check.
Great food and atmosphere!! We went there for dinner before heading to see Longwood garden’s Christmas lights.
Mike and Mark were both excellent. We felt really cared for. Mike made sure that everything was explained and promptly brought to us, and our glasses were kept full.
It’s always a little loud for me on the busier nights, but nonetheless an amazing time.
Came here looking for a good meal after seeing many great reviews on yelp. The service was excellent, we were seated quickly and approached by a waiter within a reasonable amount of time. The full order was one beer, an appetizer (charcuterie board) and two main dishes (the steak and the brick chicken), including the tip the meal came out to $117. We thought that the charcuterie board was decent, not amazing, it just felt a little boring given the scope of the other menu items. For the meals, the steak was cooked to order but it was a pretty tough cut of meat. I had expected a restaurant of this caliber to serve a nicer cut of meat. I had the Amish brick chicken which was very good. The restaurant was somewhat noisy but definitely manageable.
Our favorite place
Sovana’s fresh, innovative cuisine never disappoints (pear add a glass of sparkling sauvignon blanc and it’s perfection!
