Amazing food and amazing service! Lindsay was beyond awesome with drink service and Steven was great with food. All the food was excellent! Can’t wait until we are back in Portland to enjoy this restaurant again!
Our server was terrific, she was "on" and her support folks were polite and professional. Food was great (as always) and the ambiance was typical "bistro." All in all, our go-to place before a WorldOregon event.
I lured two friends here with the line "the clam chowder is to die for." They heartily agreed after having a bowl each. The house salad was lively, tasty, and studded with hazelnuts.
I think Southpark Seafood may become my new go-to restaurant downtown. Thanks!
A wonderful place to eat before the show begins at the Portland5 or Arlene's.
Ate here three times during a recent trip to Portland. Once for appetizers and drinks, once for dinner and again for brunch. All were excellent.
Treated a childhood friend who was visiting Portland. My guest and I had the outstanding beet salad, wild scallops and bread pudding dessert! We both licked the platter clean!
We loved the Valentine’s Day tasting menu. Just a wonderful experience from start to finish.
Southpark had a great 5 course menu for Valentine's day with wine pairing. The food was outstanding, service was great and it was a nice atmosphere. We will definitely come back!
Very good food. The oysters and martinis were excellent! The clam chowder flavor was ok but the gnocchi were mushy. We shared a Caesar salad and salmon entree—both were delicious our server did an outstanding job on a busy Friday night ( Valentines Day)
No special decor for Valentine’s Day :(
Group of gals before a White Bird Dance performance. We had a blast. Thanks for accommodating us.
Overall we had a good dining experience. We had reservations and we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and competent but seemed slightly distracted. Our food was great! Nice presentation and well prepared. I ordered a half portion, but they did get that wrong and I was served a full order. The server said it was ordered correctly and I would be charged for a half order. I forgot to check to see what I was charged though. Southpark is perfect for before show dining.
The staff was attentive and sensitive to the fact we had a performance to attend and paced the meal accordingly! The three course tasting menu is fabulous and a great value.
Very long time to get out our entree’s!!
Bonnie was a great waitress! Friendly very attentive made our date night a success. Food was delicious, we loved the clam chowder! Sooo many clams. Great place for after the symphony and I would recommend reservations we went to Happy hour since dinner wasn’t until 5.
Very happy with food and ambience. A restaurant where you can enjoy conversation,
Other than the noise causing havoc with my tinnitus, this was wonderful. Just too many hard surfaces that reflected rather than absorbed noise. Everything else was wonderful.
In the reservation, I'd asked to be seated in a quieter section, if there was one, and they accommodated that nicely. The server recommended an excellent wine. The food was good. And, most importantly, we spent two hours over dinner and never felt rushed. It is not an inexpensive place, but it was worth the cost to have this time with our friend, to share good wine and good food in a pleasant environment.
Wonderful birthday celebration meal at SP! Service a little slow, but otherwise outstanding!
Not a place for vegans, they made me a plate of unknown brown food. Sent it back they were very gracious. My partner loved his tuna.
We heard about this from several hotel staff so planned for it to be our Portland seafood experience. Far from it. They don’t have an chef’s Or catch of the day specially prepared seafood. pretty much have a fixed options on the menu and they really quite limited without a fish plate except salmon. Our waiter was very disappointing because we did accept guidance from him And his choices turned to be poor. For example the chowder is clam shells with atrophied clam stacked in a bowl It comes closer to clam soup. We decided on scallops for one of the entrées and he told us his wee really big sea scallops and they weren’t. They were basically baked with out any other kind of crust or topping that makes scallops stand out. They were served in a bowl with risotto. The risotto had the texture of creamed corn and tasted disgusting. So bad we thought maybe we had angered the kitchen w our complaints about the soup. We had great food other places in Portland like Q and Saint Jack.
Seafood was fresh and delicious. The clam chowder is amazing!
Outstanding and knowledgeable staff and the food was excellent. Between the 4 of us, we had a wide variety of dishes and each one was wonderful. We'll definitely be back.
Entire staff was super friendly and helpful, which always adds to a fun evening. Food was delicious (but had to be sent back to be cooked a little more to my liking). Waiter Phil offered great wine pairing. A bit on the pricey side, but thankfully they take the Passport Dining card. Would def return!
We did the prix fix menu and it was superb - delicious and good value for money. The 3-drink pairings for $19 was also excellently matched and we had a great time. Service was perfect. It can get loud in there, although it was not (we ate early as we had show tickets), the only reason for 4 stars on ambiance.
I have been dinIng at this restaurant since they opened and their seafood, service and ambience has always been outstanding. I often recommend it to my colleagues and clients for lunch, dinner and a quick beverage after work. This evening I arrived for my dinner reservation about 20 minutes early and decided to sit at the bar for a drink. I asked for an Old Fashioned with Bulleit bourbon simply because I am not an expert on bourbon and have enjoyed it in the past. I usually just have a wine or beer but tonight felt like something different. I was told by the bartender, " I don't carry Bullet and I NEVER will!" This was exclaimed at me and was very embarrassing. I left the bar after this scolding and was in a state of shock. I told the manager about the incident but nothing came of it. Apparently the company that makes this bourbon is disliked by the bartender and she took it out on me. For me it's the last time I set foot in their establishment or recommend to my family, friends or colleagues. Time to move onto one of the many other establishments in Portland.
Hello Mark, We are sorry you were made to feel embarrassed. Your bartender regrets the way they came across and knows that they should have simply offered you an alternate option. There is some heated controversy around Bulleit Bourbon that many in our community of staff and guests feel strongly about. We are sorry that some of that passion came across in a way that made you feel uncomfortable. Please consider joining us again as we truly value you as a regular guest. Sincerely, Jason - GM
Had some wonderful oysters from the great selection they have. Thanks to the staff and manager for the nice service
Hello Alanh, Thank you for letting us know about your dinner with us. I am so sorry your scallop dish was bland and that the risotto wasn't up to our typical quality. Please accept my apologies. I hope you will consider joining us again for a true Southpark Seafood experience. Sincerely, Jason - GM
It's an enormous space with high ceilings and all hard surfaces. Despite the fact the the decor is modern and clean, the ambiance is like eating in a busy train station. The service is fairly slow and perfunctory. We were there for a quick, simple pre-concert meal and ordered crab salad. There wasn't very much crab among the fresh greens. Perhaps the larger dishes are better.
Thank you for letting us know about your pre-theater nosh with us. We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the ambiance of that bustling evening. Being located in the heart of the cultural district does mean that it can get quite lively on nights prior to a performance. We would love to have you join us again for a more relaxed experience. You might even find the bar area provides a warmer space with our large comfortable booths, a more intimate feel and Happy Hour 3-6 + 10-midnight. Cheers, Jason
Been here many times. The Ahi Tuna and Salmon dishes we had were outstanding and creative.
Always love lunch at Southpark! Fresh, creative menu that changes just enough to keep it interesting.
Great food as usual!!
Southpark has been consistently very good. Service is casual but professional, servers have been there a long time and know the menu, wine list, etc. All of our food was very good and we had a very enjoyable evening.
Always a good venue
Risotto sauce was overbearing and ruined taste of scallops, salt overpowered steak, and desserts were not fresh.
My waiter, Josh, was very helpful, friendly. Food fantastic
You have got to try the Brussels sprouts - seriously. Go there just for that and all else is just icing on the cake! We also had their steamers (yup) and their Beet salad. All so good!
Their seafood is always fresh and of wide variety. They do excellent cocktails and have a good wine list. We have never been disappointed when we dine at Southpark Seafood. They also validate your parking in the adjacent parking garage, which a great convenience since on-street parking can be difficult.
I would recommend Southpark to friends, but the value is not there. Price is a little high. I.e. all over Portland and compared to the other similar establishments like jake’s, you don’t get the bang for your buck here.
Our server Kristin was outstanding. We a;ways eat at Soutpark before going to the Symphony and it is always oustanding and your wait staff is first rate.
